A Silent Observer

Everyone stood stunned. Except one.

Taeyhung.

He didn’t move. Didn’t speak. He simply watched.

And for the first time in years—

The corner of his lips lifted… just slightly.

This chaos. This noise. This girl.

Nothing had changed.

And yet… everything had.

Suddenly—

Sia tripped. “Ah—!” Before she could hit the floor—

A hand caught her. Firm. Steady. She froze.

Slowly, she looked up.

Taeyhung. Their eyes locked. The laughter faded.

The noise disappeared. Everything felt… different.

From the side, Jungkook blinked, still holding a cushion.

“Uhh… should I leave or…?” 👀

Sia quickly pulled her hand back, slightly flustered.

“Thank you…” she said softly.

Taeyhung’s voice was calm, controlled.

“You’re welcome.” But his eyes…

They didn’t leave her. Not even for a second.

Across the room, Aditya and Viranshu exchanged a brief, knowing glance.

Because they understood something Sia didn’t.

This wasn’t just a reunion.

This was a collision...Between innocence…

And a world far too dark for it.

...****************...

...****************...

The long dining table was already set.

Crystal glasses, perfectly arranged cutlery, and dishes that looked too beautiful to eat.

Everything was… flawless.

Too flawless.

Sia took her seat beside her mother, still glancing around with quiet curiosity.

Jungkook dropped into the chair next to her casually, leaning closer.

“Don’t act impressed,” he whispered. “Hyung is just showing off.”

Sia elbowed him lightly. “At least someone has taste.”

Jungkook gasped. “Excuse me?! I have excellent taste.”

“In what? Chaos?” she smirked.

“Better than your attitude.”

They glared at each other for two seconds—

Then both looked away at the same time.

Taeyhung’s Presence

At the head of the table sat Taeyhung.

Calm. Silent. Observing.

His gaze moved across everyone briefly… before settling on Sia again. Just for a second. But it was enough.

Aditya cleared his throat. “It’s been a long time, Taeyhung.”

Taeyhung nodded slightly. “It has.”

His tone was polite.

Controlled.

But Viranshu’s eyes narrowed almost instantly.

“Long time… or a calculated distance?” Viranshu said casually, picking up his glass.

The air shifted.

Sia blinked, confused. “Uncle?”

Jungkook frowned slightly. “What’s that supposed to mean?”

Taeyhung didn’t react. Didn’t defend. Didn’t explain. He simply picked up his glass and took a slow sip. “I had responsibilities,” he said calmly.

Aditya’s voice was low. “Responsibilities… we understand.” Their eyes met. A silent conversation.

One that Sia couldn’t understand—

But could definitely feel.

Sia looked between them. “Okay… I feel like I’m missing something.”

Jungkook leaned toward her again. “Same. And I live here.”

“Great,” she muttered. “That makes it worse.”

Trying to break the tension, Savi smiled.

“Sia was always very close to Taeyhung.”

Sia immediately choked on her water. “Mom!”

Jungkook smirked. “Ohhh interesting—”

“Shut up,” Sia snapped under her breath.

Taeyhung’s fingers paused slightly on the table. Very slightly.

“Was?” he repeated, his voice low. Sia froze.

The word hit differently than expected. She looked up. And found him already looking at her. That same unreadable expression. But his eyes—

They weren’t calm anymore. There was something deeper. Something intense. Something that made her quickly look away.
