...Rosalia Carter...
I woke up before my alarm.
For a moment, I just lay there, staring at the ceiling, listening to the quiet sounds of the dorm. Then it hit me.
My first day at Aureon University.
I sat up slowly, my heart beating faster than usual. Today wasn’t just another day. It was the beginning of everything I had worked for.
Chloe was already awake, tying her hair in front of the mirror. “Good morning,” she said brightly. “Big day.”
“Very big,” I replied, smiling nervously.
I got ready carefully, choosing something simple and neat. I didn’t want to stand out. I just wanted to belong.
As we walked out together, the campus was already alive. Students moved in every direction, laughing, talking, carrying books and coffee cups. The buildings looked even more beautiful in the morning light.
I clutched my schedule in my hand, double-checking the classroom number. Engineering Physics. My favorite subject. The reason I was here.
When we reached the lecture hall,
I took a deep breath before stepping inside
The lecture hall was already half full when we walked in. Rows of seats curved upward, and a low hum of voices filled the room. I chose a seat near the middle, placing my bag down carefully.
Students kept walking in, filling the empty seats. I opened my notebook, writing my name at the top of the page, trying to calm my nerves.
The professor walked in, and the room went quiet. I sat up straight and paid attention. This was my first class, and I didn’t want to miss anything.
Engineering Physics had officially begun.
The professor introduced himself and started the lecture. Equations appeared on the board, and I immediately felt at ease. This was familiar. This was what I loved.
I started taking notes, fully focused, forgetting about the new place and new faces around me.
For that moment, nothing else mattered.
Time passed quickly, and before I realized it, the lecture was over. Chairs scraped softly as students stood up and started talking again.
I closed my notebook, feeling satisfied. The class went better than I expected.
This was exactly why I had come here.
As students began leaving, I packed my bag and stood up. Chloe stretched beside me.
“So?” she asked. “Survived your first class?”
I smiled. “More than survived. I loved it.”
She laughed. “I knew you would.”
We walked out of the lecture hall together, the corridor buzzing with voices and footsteps. My first class at Aureon University was done.
And somehow, it felt like the beginning of something good.
We stepped out into the open corridor, sunlight pouring in through the tall windows. Students were everywhere talking, laughing, rushing to their next classes.
Chloe checked her schedule. “I’ve got another class now. You?”
“I’m free for a bit,” I said.
“Good,” she smiled. “Come on, I’ll show you the campus properly.”
As we walked, she pointed out buildings, cafés, shortcuts everything like she had done it a hundred times before. I listened carefully, taking it all in.
This place was slowly starting to feel real.
And for the first time since I arrived, I felt like I truly belonged here.
Chloe and I walked toward the main building. The campus was busy, but I followed her easily.
“This way,” she said. “Your next class is here.”
I nodded and kept walking.
My day at Aureon University continued.
By the time evening arrived, I was exhausted.
Classes went by quickly, my mind full of new formulas, new faces, and too much information at once. When I finally returned to my room, I dropped my bag and lay back on the bed.
My first day at Aureon University was over.
And somehow, I had survived it.
I stared at the ceiling for a while, letting the quiet sink in. Outside, the campus slowly grew calm as night settled in.
Chloe walked in a few minutes later, kicking off her shoes. “Long day,” she said.
“Very,” I replied.
She laughed and sat on her bed. “You did good today. First days are always the hardest.”
I smiled softly. Maybe she was right.
As the lights dimmed and the room grew quiet, I closed my eyes, ready to rest
Just when I was about to relax, Chloe suddenly sat up.
“Heyyy,” she said excitedly. “Let’s go to the college terrace and watch the city.”
I looked at her. “Now?”
“Yes,” she nodded. “I know our schedule. We can’t really go out much right now, so why not enjoy the view from the terrace? And on the weekend, we’ll go outside properly.”
I smiled at her enthusiasm. “Okay,” I said. “That actually sounds nice.”
She grinned. “Trust me. You’ll love it.”
“Oh my god, Chloe ,” I said, sitting up instantly. “I literally need this right now. I really want to see the Eiffel Tower, but I can’t because of all the work.”
She laughed. “Exactly.”
“Let’s go,” I added, already grabbing my jacket. “But I’m seriously so excited to see the Eiffel Tower properly this weekend.”
Chloe smiled. “Then it’s decided.”
And with that, we headed together.
We climbed the stairs up to the terrace, the air growing cooler with every step. When we reached the top, the city opened up in front of us.
Paris stretched out below, glowing softly under the night sky. Streetlights traced the roads like lines of gold, and the buildings looked calm and peaceful from above.
And then I saw it.
The Eiffel Tower stood in the distance, tall and glowing, watching over the city. Even from here, it was breathtaking. My heart skipped a beat.
I stood there quietly, taking it all in. The lights, the breeze, the view it felt unreal.
For a moment, everything was perfect.
Chloe and I stood there for a long time, talking and laughing softly. She pointed out different places in the city, telling me small stories about Paris that only a local would know.
I listened, smiling, asking questions, enjoying every word. We shared snacks, leaned against the railing, and watched the city lights flicker below us.
Every now and then, we’d go quiet, just taking in the view
No rush. No worries.
Up there on the terrace, it felt like the world had slowed down just for us.
Just then, I called Lilly and introduced her to Chloe . The two of them got along surprisingly well, laughing and talking like they already knew each other.
I showed Lilly the terrace view through the video call, and she kept saying how beautiful it looked. The three of us talked, laughed, and enjoyed the moment together.
After some time, we ended the call and headed back to our room. Exhausted but happy, we lay down and soon fell asleep.
And honestly, it was literally the best day ever.
