I Never Told Him
The rain was pouring heavily...
And she stood there... All alone.
Water dripped slowly from her hair,
While the dust on her clothes quietly told a story she couldn't say out loud.
" Maybe... This is the last time I am seeing him".
Her eyes were fixed on that same road.
The one he used to walk down every single day.
" What if I never see him again?"
"Will he remember me or forget me like i never existed? "
Her heart felt heavier with every passing second.
One question kept echoing in her mind-
"Should I have told him."
She took a small step forward as if her heart still believed he might come.
But suddenly -
Her hand slipped.
The red bracelet on her wrist fell to the ground lost in the rain .
And with it , the soft sound of her ghungru scattered around her feet . Breaking the silence she was holding inside.
She froze.
Maybe.. that was the moment everything truly slipped away.
just then, she felt a gentle hand on her shoulder.
" what are you doing here? " come on, let's go home.
It was her aunt
She turned around slowly forcing a small smile.
And without saying a word, she walked away with her .
But deep inside...
Her heart was still standing there, in the rain waiting.
Waiting for sometime that might never happen.
She walked slowly towards her aunt's house,
Every step was heavy, as if the earth itself was pulling her down.
Rain had just stopped,
Leaving tiny droplets glittering on the leaves,
And the air smelled of the fainting of wet soil.
Her heart ached , and could feel the unspoken words pressing on her chest
As she stepped through the gate , Millie and Sophie were waiting,
They face a mixture of tension and gentle resolve.
'Nothing can happen now'
Millie said softly but searching hers for understanding.
" But ... We thought…" she answered, her voice trembling as if admitting a secret she could barely bear herself.
Sophie stepped closer and held her hands
tightly.we know…but life moves on.
Sometimes things are just beyond our control.
She said, her voice steady yet comforting.
Maybe ... This is the time to let go to breathe. To move forward.
She took a deep breath
Opened her eyes,
And gave them a brave smile.
Millie and Sophie returned her smile with nods silently promising to stay by her side, no matter what comes next.
That night, she sat on her bed with her diary open, pen trembling in her hands words spilled out - confession heart break and thoughts she hadn't dared to say aloud.
When the diary was full she rested and her head was on the table,
Morning light crept through the curtains soft and promising.
She rubbed her eyes.
And sat up,
The memories of heartbreak are still lingering.
But a new determination stirred within her
opening her laptop.
she begins searching for a new college.
still she was feeling incomplete.
" and that was the day everything changed
