No one spoke for a moment.
The air felt heavier now—like something unseen was pressing down on all of them.
Jay was the first to break the silence.
“Then start explaining,” he said, his voice steady but firm.
Ava studied him carefully. “If we tell you… there’s no going back.”
Rowand crossed his arms. “We’re already past that.”
Nick looked at them, conflicted.
“They shouldn’t be involved,” he said.
“They already are,” Ava replied.
Nick closed his eyes for a second.
Then sighed.
“…Fine.”
“The girl,” Ava began, “her name is Lena.”
Jay frowned slightly. “What’s wrong with her?”
Brian answered this time.
“It started a few weeks ago,” he said. “Strange things. Lights flickering. Objects moving… without being touched.”
Tim shifted nervously. “At first, we thought it was just coincidence.”
“It wasn’t,” Ava said.
Nick’s voice was quieter now.
“She can’t control it.”
Jay’s expression hardened. “Control what?”
Ava looked straight at him.
“Her power.”
Silence.
Rowand let out a small breath. “You’re serious?”
Brian nodded. “We’ve seen it.”
Tim added quickly, “And it’s getting worse.”
Jay looked at Nick. “And you’ve been hiding this from us?”
Nick snapped back, “I was trying to protect you!”
“By lying?”
“By keeping you away from something dangerous!”
The tension rose again—but Ava cut through it.
“Enough,” she said. “Argue later.”
She turned and pointed down the street.
“The old house. That’s where she is.”
No one hesitated this time.
They moved together.
All of them.
The house stood at the edge of the neighborhood—abandoned, silent, almost forgotten.
Windows broken.
Walls cracked.
Dark.
Tim stopped walking. “I hate this place.”
“Yeah,” Brian said quietly. “You’re not the only one.”
Nick stepped forward.
“She’s inside.”
Jay looked at him. “How bad is it?”
Nick didn’t answer.
That was answer enough.
The door creaked as they pushed it open.
Inside—
It was cold.
Not normal cold.
Something deeper.
“Lena?” Ava called softly.
No response.
They stepped further in.
The floorboards groaned beneath their feet.
The air felt… wrong.
Then—
A sound.
Upstairs.
Nick moved first. “She’s up there.”
Jay followed immediately. Rowand right behind him.
The others hesitated—then followed too.
Each step up the stairs felt heavier.
Slower.
Like something was watching.
Then they reached the top.
A door at the end of the hallway.
Slightly open.
A faint light flickering inside.
Nick pushed it open.
And everything changed.
The room was in chaos.
Objects floating.
Shaking.
The air itself seemed unstable.
And in the center—
A girl.
Her head lowered.
Her body trembling.
The light around her flickering like it couldn’t decide what was real.
“Lena…” Nick said softly.
Her head lifted slowly.
Her eyes—
glowing.
Not normal.
Not human.
“I tried…” she whispered.
The room shook.
“I tried to stop it…”
A sudden force slammed a chair against the wall.
Tim flinched back. “This is bad—this is really bad!”
Brian stepped forward slightly, observing. “Her energy is unstable—worse than before.”
Jay didn’t move.
He just stared.
Trying to understand what he was seeing.
Rowand spoke quietly, “She’s scared.”
And he was right.
Because beneath the power…
Beneath the fear…
She looked like someone who was losing control.
Nick stepped closer.
“Lena, listen to me,” he said calmly. “You’re not alone.”
The room trembled again.
Walls cracking slightly.
“I can’t hold it…” she said, her voice breaking.
Ava’s expression sharpened. “Nick, don’t go any closer—”
Too late.
Nick stepped right in front of her.
Jay shouted, “Nick!”
But Nick didn’t stop.
He looked her straight in the eyes.
And said—
“You don’t have to fight it alone anymore.”
For a split second—
Everything froze.
Then—
A burst of energy exploded outward.
