Prologue

Prologue 💘✨

It all started because I made the terrible, life-ruining decision to read a transmigration story at two in the morning.

You know the type.

The female lead was a survival prodigy from Scout Education. She picked up some draft BL R-19 novel, died dramatically while reading it, and transmigrated into the story as the villainess only to get stranded on a remote island with six male leads who absolutely despised her.

Naturally, she tried to avoid her death flags.

Naturally, it didn’t work.

Naturally, the more she ran, the more they chased.

Honestly? Peak entertainment.

But that’s not the point.

The point is...

One of the male leads was Kaiden Sylvester.

My meticulously crafted, unfairly handsome menace.

Yessssss!

I swear, the moment his illustration popped up, my brain short-circuited. Silver hair. Pale lashes. Brows so sharp they could probably cut glass. And those eyes deep red with gold flickering underneath like molten lava.

Illegal.

Completely illegal.

And don’t even get me started on that faint, amused curve of his lips. Like he knew exactly what kind of damage he was doing.

Sir.

Respectfully.

I am not okay.

I was currently staring at his face again because yes, I had absolutely turned him into my phone wallpaper. Every time I unlocked my screen, my soul left my body a little.

I tapped lightly at the screen, biting my nails.

Okay, maybe I was a little obsessed.

Oops.

Also… Hyacinth. That soft, pretty boy. Too gentle for this cruel world, honestly. I liked him too.

If fate were kind, I’d take both.

Who says I can’t have two husbands?

If they disagree…

Well.

Let’s not get ahead of ourselves.

I sighed dramatically, still lightly tracing Kaiden’s face on my screen. My eyes were probably sparkling like a complete lunatic.

What can I say?

He’s precious.

Suspiciously, the weather had turned cold even though it was the middle of summer.

Good thing I had brought my jacket.

Grocery bag in one hand, phone in the other, I shuffled along the crowded street on my way back from campus.

Fourth year of college was already draining me, and it wasn’t even fully morning yet.

I stopped at the pedestrian lane, waiting for the light to turn green.

Out of habit, I pulled out my phone again.

There he was.

Kaiden.

Honestly, ever since that novel recommendation popped up online, my brain had not known peace. Everything somehow looped back to him.

I sighed for what was probably the hundredth time.

“If only you were real,” I murmured softly, thumb brushing over the screen.

Then, because clearly I had lost all shame, I whispered...

“Please bring me to your world.”

The moment the pedestrian light turned green, the crowd surged forward.

I stepped with them.

Blink.

.. and suddenly...

I was staring at the ocean.

Bright sunlight slammed into my eyes, and I quickly raised a hand to shield my face.

Warm sand shifted under my shoes.

…Sand?

Wait.

After my vision adjusted, I slowly, very slowly looked around.

Blue sky.

Endless water.

White shore.

My brain disconnected.

“…Huh?”

Okay.

Okay, maybe this was a beach.

Maybe I was hallucinating.

Maybe I finally snapped from academic stress and fictional men.

I crouched and grabbed a handful of sand.

Warm, grainy.

My eyes widen, it's real.

My heart began to pound.

Slowly, carefully, I lifted my head

..and froze.

Because not far from me, lying motionless on the shore…

…was a man.

“…What the heck?!”
