episode 2

The vows had just begun.

A sacred stillness wrapped around the courtyard as Ash held Serena’s hands, their voices soft but steady—two souls binding themselves before the world.

“I promise—”

A sudden tremor.

The air cracked.

Not thunder… something darker.

The sky above twisted unnaturally, light bending into a swirling vortex of shadow. Guests gasped. Pokémon cried out. The temperature dropped in an instant, as if warmth itself had been stolen.

Leaf’s smile vanished

“…Ash—”

Before anyone could react—

BOOM.

A wave of dark energy slammed into the barrier surrounding the venue, shattering parts of it like fragile glass. Cloaked figures emerged from the distortion, their presence suffocating—silent, coordinated, deadly.

An attack.

On this day of all days.

Ash stepped forward instantly, instincts sharper than ever.

“Everyone, stay back!”

Pokéballs flashed open across the courtyard—Pikachu leapt to his shoulder, electricity crackling, while Serena stood firm beside him, fear present… but never overpowering her resolve.

Leaf moved to protect the guests.

And then—

Red

He didn’t shout.

Didn’t panic.

He simply lifted his gaze toward the sky… as if he had been waiting.

“…You chose today,” he muttered coldly.

The shadows surged again—stronger this time, aiming directly at the altar.

Too fast.

Too sudden.

Even Ash couldn’t reach it in time—

And then—

Silence.

The attack… stopped.

Frozen mid-air.

Suspended like time itself had been gripped by unseen hands.

A ripple spread through the battlefield—dark energy unraveling into threads of nothingness.

And from within that unraveling void…

She stepped out.

A figure cloaked in midnight and silver.

Long hair flowing like liquid shadow, eyes glowing with a power that felt both ancient… and heartbreakingly familiar.

Kiara.

She didn’t rush.

Didn’t speak.

She simply raised her hand—and with a soft, almost effortless motion, the entire wave of destruction… vanished.

Gone.

As if it had never existed.

The attackers staggered, clearly shaken. One of them whispered in fear—

“…She’s here…!”

Kiara’s gaze shifted, sharp and cold now.

“Leave.”

One word.

That was all.

The ground beneath the enemies cracked with invisible pressure. Their formation broke instantly, panic replacing their calculated attack. Within seconds, they retreated into the same dark distortion they had come from—fleeing not from Ash…

…but from her.

The sky cleared.

Light returned.

And the world breathed again.

Silence fell over the courtyard.

Every eye… on Kiara.

Ash blinked in shock.

“Who…?”

But he didn’t need to finish.

Because across the shattered marble floor—

Red had already stepped forward.

For the first time since the chaos began… emotion broke through his calm.

“…Kiara.”

Her name wasn’t a question.

It was something deeper.

Something unfinished.

Kiara turned slowly.

And for just a moment—

The coldness in her expression cracked.

“…Red.”

The way she said it…

Not distant.

Not hostile.

Just… heavy. Like a thousand untold stories trapped in a single word.

Leaf looked between them, stunned.

“Wait… this is Kiara?!”

Ash lowered his guard slightly, still confused but sensing something important unfolding.

Serena gently touched his arm.

“…She saved us.”

But the moment wasn’t over.

Because Kiara’s gaze drifted past Red… to Ash and Serena.

To the altar.

To the vows that had been interrupted.

For a brief second, something softer flickered

in her eyes.

“…Finish it,” she said quietly.

Not a command.

Not even a suggestion.

Just… a wish.

Then she stepped back into the shadows, her presence already beginning to fade.

Red’s hand instinctively reached out—

“Kiara, wait—!”

But she paused only for a heartbeat.

Without turning back, she spoke:

“…This world isn’t done with us yet.”

And then—

She was gone.

Vanished like a dream… or a warning.

The wind settled.

The sky cleared fully.

And slowly… reality returned.

Ash looked at Red, then at the place Kiara had stood.

“…You’re gonna explain that later.”

Red didn’t answer immediately.

His eyes remained fixed on the empty space.

“…Yeah,” he said quietly.

Leaf clapped her hands suddenly, forcing energy back into the moment.

“Okay NO—dark mysterious saviors later. WEDDING NOW.”

That broke the tension just enough.

Ash let out a breath, smiling again as he turned back to Serena.

“Sorry… where were we?”

Serena laughed softly, eyes shining.

“I think you were about to promise me something.”

And as they resumed—

Somewhere far beyond sight…

In the depths of shadow and silence—

Kiara stood once more.

Watching.

Waiting.

Her glowing eyes narrowed slightly.

Because this attack…

Was only the beginning.
