Chapter 2: Goodbye...

Chapter 2: Goodbye…

I feel cold...but it doesn't hurt anymore...

Why do I feel like I'm floating?

Am I?

Tyra slowly opened her eyes and the first thing she see is a blinding white light. She covered her eyes with her hand as a reflex as her eyes adjusted to the light. When the light isn’t hurting her eyes anymore, she slowly removed her hand and looks around her. She is indeed floating and her surrounding is nothing but white.

Hey there child…

Tyra heard a male voice she hasn’t heard before. It sounds so silvery. Her body slowly adjusted as if she’s gonna land her feet on a ground. As her feet touches the so-called ground in the endless white room, it created ripples as if it’s water she touched and not a ground.

“Who are you? Where am I?”

As she asked, she noticed a small white shining ball floating towards her. It stops a meter away from her.

“Was that you? Who are you and where am I? The- the last thing I remembered was I was dying and-“

Hush child, haha, slow down with your questions. Yes, it I that’s talking to you-

“But you’re a floating ball of- of-gas or some sort. You shouldn’t be speaking.”

Hahahah...I only took this form dear. I am what you humans called God, a supreme being. You’re in a small space that I created so that I can talk to you. And no, you aren’t dying.

“Really?!”

Yes, cause you’re already dead.

Tyra's emotions swelled up upon hearing those words. She couldn't control herself and cried. This shouldn't be real, this should be a dream but it's too painful to be a dream.

“Oh. So that means I- …that’s so unfair *sob* I just started my life *sob* I just started making money. I *sob* I- I can’t die! My sister! *sob* my- my sis…ter *sniffles*”

Big tears are running down Tyra’s cheeks. She sat on the ground which creates more ripples while she covered her

face with shaking hands. She couldn’t believe that she left her sister alone. Their grandma and grandpa, who adopted and took care of them, are also gone. Now, it’s just gonna be her sister.

“Am I *sob* gonna meet my grandpa and *sob* grandma?”

No child…

You’re going to be transported to another world. I’m going to give you a wish-

“What?! As if killing me is not enough, you’re going to transport me to another world?! What am I going to do there!”

As Tyra heard what God had said, she suddenly lifted her head and shouted angrily at Him.

You’re going to guide my children. They need you.

“What do you mean?”

You’ll know when you get there, child.

The floating ball starts to glow more. The light spreads around Tyra, trying to swallow her up. Tyra felt a strong energy creeping through her veins. Could she be transported now? What about her sister? What about that bastard who caused this? She just can’t leave without knowing. She just can’t.

“WAIT! Wait, please!”

The light returned to normal and the light ball is again floating in front of her. Tyra calm herself down as she breathes steadily.

Gulp.

“You said you’ll give me a wish.”

Yes. Do you want to use it now?

“Yes.”

Are you sure? This might save your life later on.

What?! What kind of world is he sending me to? Tyra thought to herself. But whatever. Might save my life huh.

“I wish to have a thousand wishes.”

“Hello? I said I wish to have a thousand wishes.”

Ye- yes, I heard. But sadly, I couldn’t do that. It’s too much.

“Oh, then a hundred wishes then. I wish to have a hundred wishes.”

I still can’t do that. All I can give is three wishes. If I interfere more- if I give you more, it’s going to call upon the other gods’ attention. You don’t want that do you? Having the God of War, for example, spying onto you.

He’s right. I do don’t want anymore gods spying on me. Tyra thought.

But there are rules. You cannot revive someone who’s death. You cannot make someone fall in love. You cannot wish for someone to get hurt. And you certainly cannot reverse time.

“So, I can’t wish myself to be back again in that bar and go home with my sister.”

Yes, you cannot. Your life there is already over.

There was a short pause before Tyra speaks again.

“Three wishes then. First, I wish to know about my sister and that bastard Giovanni.”

Very well. Look into the water behind you.

Tyra spun around and look at her surroundings. She saw a small puddle of water on the ground. She walks closer

to it. As she walked, she saw small ripples are made in each of her steps. When she reached the puddle, she kneeled before it and looked into it. She saw Lyla crying in her room, hugging her clothes. Lyla keeps on crying while calling her name and asking why she was gone. As she saw Lyla crying, she felt her heart breaking into thousands of pieces. Tears began falling from her eyes again.

“Lyla…my sister.”

As one of her tears falls down onto the puddle water, the image was distorted due to the ripple. When the water calmed down, it showed the image of Giovanni, the perpetrator. It was shown that he was hand cuffed and is riding a police car. He’s wearing a prison uniform. The image then changed to a woman wearing a coat with a ponytail. She’s holding a microphone and is facing at Tyra.

“As you can now see, the CEO of the multi-billion company, Maxwell Corp., is entering the *** Prison, where he will serve his sentence of 3 years imprisonment, due to his attack on the young super model Tyra Kerr that caused her death. Evidence from the CCTV footage from across the parking lot showed that….”

Tyra spun her head around and angrily glared at the floating light ball.

“Three years?! Just three years?!”

Child, it is not I that punished him. It was your human law. But I can see that his three years in prison will be hell and it’ll be more hellish when he gets out. That is if he does not change.

That’s right. Maxwell Corp. has a huge debt from the bank and not just one bank but with several banks all thanks to his promiscuous acts that lead to it. Three years is more than enough to bring the company down leaving no money, no property and no people for him which he can’t live without. He’s gonna have a hard time adjusting to the new life style…. Tyra thought as she wiped her tears that are long dry from her cheeks.

…Child, are you not going to watch your sister again?

“Huh?”

Tyra looked back to the puddle water. She saw Lyla still wearing a black dress. She can see the dried tears on her cheeks. Lyla is now going through her things. There was an old briefcase beneath Tyra’s dresses. Lyla took the briefcase and opened it. There was an old photo album, a pair garden gloves, a wooden small box, and a camera. Lyla took the camera, it was an old EOS D30 camera. She took the compact flash memory card and rummage through the briefcase if there was a CF memory card reader. Luckily, she found one. She gently put the camera back to the briefcase and runs towards Tyra’s desk in her bedroom.

There was a slightly dusty laptop on the desk with two cute little girls holding hands with each other. One is wearing yellow raincoat while the other one is wearing a blue raincoat. Lyla caress the stickers before she opens the laptop. She inserted the CF memory card to its reader and opened Tyra’s laptop. As she logs in, she immediately plugged in the CF reader and scanned through it. It was filled with their photos when they were still young. There were also photos of their grandpa and grandma together. A video caught Lyla’s eye. She clicked it. A video of two young girls playing muds suddenly pops-up.

Lyla smiled as she watched her and Tyra’s younger self playing and running around like a wild chicken. She laughed as their grandpa chased after them and would occasionally get mud into his mouth.

What a happy family.

“Thank you.” Tyra smiled at the comment of the floating ball.

“Hey, you said that I’ll be transported to another world. Will I have a family?” Tyra asked with a sad voice as she sat on the ground, hugging her legs. Tears are slowly falling onto her knees as she rested her head on her knees.

That is for you to decide, if you consider my children as your family.

Tyra continued watching her sister looking through the old photos and videos. Lyla suddenly stood up and walked towards the briefcase. She sat in front of it and took the small wooden box. She opened it and more photos where inside. She took a picture and kissed it. It a photo where Tyra is sitting on a swing while eating an ice cream.

“Goodbye my dear sister and my bestfriend. You will always be inside my heart. I’ll be strong. I’ll live my life happily for the both of us. Wherever you are, I hope you’re happy and peaceful. Goodbye…I’ll miss you…”

Tyra reached her hand unto the puddle and gently touched her sister’s cheeks which caused a small ripple.

“Goodbye my sister and my bestfriend. Goodbye.”

Lyla felt a cold breeze touched her cheek and she immediately touched her cheek which caused the picture to fall down.

The water puddle slowly vanished. Tyra was still in the same position but her eyes aren’t crying anymore. Moreover, her eyes are full of determination. She looked at the floating light ball that calls itself as God.

“I’ll ask for my second wish now. I wish you give me something useful for my next life.”

…Hahahahaha, you humans are really amusing. Fine. I will give a gift for your next life that’s extremely useful. You will surely like it.

The floating light ball suddenly glows brighter, engulfing Tyra with its light.

A man with a black hair wearing a black suit, white shirt, a black tie and a pair of black shoes is walking down on a hallway. Each step of his, a clack sound will be heard. He continued walking until he reached a white gold 10-meter door. The man pushed the door easily. He entered and continued walking until he reached a meter away from the white golden throne. He kneeled with one knee and his right hand on his left chest while his head bowed down.

“You may rise Falcon.” The man sitting on the white golden throne said.

The man named Falcon stood up and looks onto the man on the white golden throne. The man has beautiful feature. He has a pair of silver eyes that matches his long silver hair. He wears white cloth around his body with a golden wreath crown. His bare feet touching the ground made of marble.

“I thank Thee for- “

“Humans are really amusing Falcon, even in any world. One minute they’re crying, then they’re smiling the next, as if they haven’t felt sadness a minute ago.”

“Are you talking about Miss Kerr, my lord?"

“Yes.”

“Did you tell her the truth?”

The man only stares at Falcon while his head resting on his hand.

“The truth about her death, my lord, and her purpose.”

“No. I’m afraid I cannot. I only told her that my children need her.” The man answered lazily.

“Wouldn’t that cause a storm later on when Miss Kerr finds out?”

“It is true that she will be furious once she knows about it. But what can that child do? She is destined to take

upon this fate.”

“Yes, my lord.”

Falcon then salutes put his right hand on his left chest and bowed his head.

Tyra opened her eyes and she saw an unfamiliar ceiling. She sat up and glance around the area. The room, the things, the decorations are all unfamiliar to her. She glanced down to her body and lifted the blanket to check on herself. She’s relived when she is still wearing her clothes back from the bar. A tight white long-sleeve V-neck top, a black short, a fishnet stocking and her favorite simple slim black heels.

Tyra stood up from the bed and to walk around the area. She walked towards the mirror and saw herself. Her make up are all smudge and she looked hideous. She walked towards the window and looked outside. She saw the dry lands, the dying trees, the crows flying around.

This place is a horror movie set. That floating ball said I’ll be useful here. Well, with the way that I look right now, guess that it goes with the ambiance.

As Tyra is thinking to herself, there was an argument outside her door, one is a female voice and the other is male.

“Your Majesty! I really do think that there’s something wrong with the ritual! We need to redo it, please. The people are dying from hunger.” The woman’s voice sounded desperately pleading to this ‘Your Majesty’.

“Pinchas, she’s the one that the God sent. Are you saying that that guy is wrong?” The man’s voice sounded rough but calm.

“Since when did you believe in God!” The female voice shouted in anger.

The man did not bother answering but turned the knob to open the door in front of him to greet the woman behind it.
