Plop plop plop
The rain is starting to fall, the sky that was once a beautiful blue turned grey, and the wind rustling the leaves violently, making a rather loud melody.
It's been around a week since we knew about Wisteria Twirl, and today is the day I start my disguise as Daphne Blaire.
"I can't believe this day already came, you'll go undercover oh my God!," Audrey said, beaming with excitement.
"Audrey, there's no need to be that happy about it, you know it's related to her father," Victor, who is sitting next to her on the driver's seat, whispered, and sighed at the same time.
"Ah right, sorry Ana," she quickly looked at me with an apologetic face.
"It's alright," I chuckled, "I'm actually curious to know who Wisteria is, what kind of person she is," my voice blended in with the rain as it continues to pour heavily.
"When are we arriving Victor, I'm hungry," Audrey touched her stomach as it growled loudly.
"What the hell, you got a monster in there or something," Victor burst out in a laugh, and I couldn't hold mine any longer.
Audrey yelled at us for the rest of the drive until she calmed down, as well the rain.
...----------------...
"So, which apartment?" I asked, as I stepped outside, the floor wet and muddy.
"So, yours is 202, and hers is 203," Victor answered as he gets the suitcase out.
"Thanks, will you two come with me, or should I go alone today?"
"Uh, didn't you plan on going alone today?" Audrey looked at me, a hand on her hip as she gives me a confused look, "Plus we are going to meet up later anyway."
"Ye-ah, but like just asking again," I scanned the area; there's quite a number of people that live here.
"I know I shouldn't be nervous, but I'm still anxious, scared what I will discover, and just- just what would I do if she was the reason my dad couldn't solve the case," I looked at them as I catch my breath, "Sorry, I don't-"
"It's alright Oriana, C'mere," Victor gently took me in for a hug.
"Don't worry Oriana, we are here for you," Audrey joined in for a hug.
Their embraces calmed me down, I hugged them tightly, trying to regain my composure.
"You might show you are strong and all, but you're still quite a crybaby," Audrey teased as she caressed my hair.
"What? No way, I'm not," I broke the group hug and quickly took my suitcase.
"So soon? You could have stayed for a bit longer," Victor sighed.
"No thank you, that was enough for me, plus I need to go, try to see if she's home," I pointed at the building.
"Want some help with the suitcase?"
"No but thanks, Victor," I gave him a smile, "See y'all later," I waved them bye then entered the building.
"I wonder how she is, just hope it will be easy but I guess it's too much to ask for considering I haven't met her yet," I sighed as I got on the elevator.
I pressed the floor I'm on, my mind playing thousands of scenarios of how I could meet Wisteria.
"I should stop worrying about all that, when the time comes I will meet her, I just live next door," I mumbled, trying to convince not myself, but my mind to stop thinking about her.
When the door opened, I stepped out, my mind flying somewhere else– unaware of my surroundings.
"Eloise! Don't run or you'll get hurt!" someone yelled, snapping me out of my thoughts.
Thud
A little kid fell down after colliding with me.
"Oh my god," I kneeled down, "Are you okay? Sorry, I didn't se-"
I stopped mid-sentence, as surprise washed over me.
Wait, isn't that her kid...
I took her arms gently, and tried to make her stand.
She was silent. Then her eyes were glistening with tears, and her little hands trembling.
"Oh no, are you hurt, sweetheart?" I asked as I scooped her up.
"Eloise! What did you do this time?" a woman's voice, though soft but strict at the same time, can be heard.
"Oh my God, I'm so sorry for the trouble she caused you," she quickly took the kid and apologised.
"Ah, it's alright, don't worry," I stared at her, examined her face.
It's definitely her.
The moment I saw her, I felt nervous, anxious...a feeling of uneasiness.
I finally meet you, Wisteria. I just hope she'll lead me to the truth, or at least half of it.
"Hello?" she waved her hand, a smile tugged at her lips.
"Oh sorry, I spaced out," I laughed awkwardly, "Anyway, is she alright?" I point at the girl, with tears that already dried up.
"Yeah she is, don't worry," she sighed, "she's so overdramatic sometimes," she poked Eloise's cheek while giggling.
Small hands can be seen grabbing Wisteria’s dress, but no one was visible.
I kneeled down, "And who might these little hands belong to?" I grinned.
"They're mine!" a small high pitch voice replied.
"Ange, don't be shy," Wisteria gently moved away, revealing a small child.
"That one is a bit introverted," Wisteria said, rubbing Ange's head.
Ange?
This one must be Evangeline then?
"Oh sorry, I have to go I'm late," Wisteria stated as she put Eloise down.
"Don't worry, I think you live on this floor, right? I'm moving in 202," I smiled, though it didn't reach my eyes.
"Really?! I'm in 203, we'll see each other often then," she beamed.
"I'm Wisteria by the way, and this is Eloise and Evangeline," she pat both of their heads, "Ange for short," she smiled.
"How are your names so beautiful," I sighed, "Mine's Daphne," I replied with a sad tone jokingly.
"Oh c'mon, yours is pretty, reminds me of a fairy," she giggled.
"Oh no, sorry, I must really go now," she quickly said, "My friends are waiting, see you Daphne," she waved at me with a smile tugging at her lips, and hurried in the elevator.
"I can't believe I already met her, I'm already tired," I sighed as I walked over to my apartment.
The first meeting turned out better than I expected.
She seems...normal.
