Part 4: The Curse Breaks

The war had lasted three days.

Smoke covered the skies of Varanthia. Broken banners lay across the battlefield. The once-mighty alliance of the seven kingdoms now stood trembling outside the black fortress.

But their kings had not yet surrendered.

Seven rulers rode forward in golden armor, forming a line across the battlefield.

At the fortress gates stood Vishnu Varathan — VV, the king they had feared for years.

And beside him…

Abishara — Abi, the crownless queen.

The wind whipped through her hair as she stepped forward beside him.

One of the kings shouted across the field.

“Princess Abishara! Return with us and this war ends!”

Another king raised his sword.

“You do not belong beside that monster!”

Silence fell.

Then Abi spoke.

“I am exactly where I choose to be.”

The Hidden Truth

But something strange had been happening since the war began.

Abi had started hearing whispers — ancient voices echoing through her mind.

That night she walked alone into the cursed forest, the same forest where the ancient magic of the kingdom lived.

The ground beneath her feet glowed faintly.

And suddenly she understood the truth.

The curse that chained the kingdom for centuries…

Was never tied only to VV.

It was tied to her as well.

She was born with the blood of the ancient royal line that created the curse generations ago.

Only two people together could break it.

The Dark King.

And the Runaway Princess.

But breaking it required a sacrifice.

The Choice

Abi returned to the battlefield as the final confrontation began.

VV stood before the seven kings, his sword glowing faintly with cursed magic.

He looked at her immediately.

“You shouldn’t be here.”

Abi stepped closer.

“I know how to break the curse.”

VV froze.

“What?”

“The curse binding your soul to darkness,” she said quietly.

“I know how to end it.”

The kings laughed mockingly from across the field.

“Even if that’s true,” one of them shouted,

“why would she save you?”

Abi didn’t answer them.

She looked only at VV.

“Because I love you.”

The Ritual

Ancient symbols began glowing across the battlefield as Abi stepped into the center.

The earth trembled.

Dark magic rose like shadows around VV.

He realized what she was about to do.

“No.”

His voice was sharp.

“Stop.”

But Abi continued.

“The curse requires the blood of the king… and the heart of the one who loves him.”

VV grabbed her arm.

“You are not sacrificing yourself.”

She smiled softly.

“I’m not dying.”

“Then what?”

She looked into his eyes.

“The curse will disappear.”

“And so will the dark power that protects your kingdom.”

VV’s expression darkened.

Without the curse… he would lose the terrifying power that kept enemy kingdoms afraid.

Varanthia would become vulnerable.

“Then the kingdoms will attack again,” he said.

Abi stepped closer and touched his face gently.

“Then we’ll face them together.”

Love Stronger Than Darkness

The ritual began.

Golden light and dark shadows collided around them.

Abi placed her hand over VV’s heart.

The curse roared like a storm trying to escape.

For the first time in his life…

VV screamed.

Dark energy exploded into the sky as centuries of magic shattered.

Then suddenly…

Silence.

The shadows disappeared.

The sky cleared.

The ancient curse was gone.

The World Changes

VV fell to one knee, breathing heavily.

The dark aura that once surrounded him was gone.

He was no longer the cursed king feared by kingdoms.

He was just a man.

Abi knelt beside him.

“Are you angry?” she asked softly.

VV looked up at her.

For a long moment he said nothing.

Then he pulled her into his arms.

“You foolish woman.”

Abi laughed.

“You’re welcome.”

The Kings Retreat

The seven kings watched in shock.

Without the curse, they expected VV to look weak.

But when he stood again, holding Abi’s hand…

Something else had replaced the darkness.

Resolve.

Love.

And a kingdom ready to fight beside him.

The enemy kings slowly lowered their swords.

One by one…

They retreated.

The war was over.

The Crown Returns

Days later, standing on the same ocean cliff where Abi had once thrown away her crown…

VV held something in his hand.

A new crown.

Not gold.

But silver and black — forged from the metal of his own armor.

He placed it gently on Abi’s head.

“You once threw away a crown,” he said.

“So this time…”

His voice softened.

“…I’m giving you one you’ll never have to run from.”

Abi smiled.

“And who says I’ll rule quietly?”

VV smirked.

“I’m counting on you not to.”

She leaned closer and whispered:

“Careful, Your Majesty.”

“I might become more dangerous than you.”

VV laughed.

“Impossible.”

But as the wind carried their laughter across the sea, the people of Varanthia already knew the truth.

The Dark King had once ruled through fear.

Now he ruled beside a queen strong enough to change his fate.

And together…

Vishnu Varathan (VV) and Abishara (Abi) would become a legend far greater than any prophecy.
