Chapter 1 : Present Life

A young lady was standing still as she feels the wind brush through her face. Her long silver and gray hair flowing with the winds rythmn and pattern. Her eyes closed and her mind thinking continously. "I am the wind and shadow. I am anywhere and everywhere. I am Eliz Black." This is what rings in her ears as she closes her eyes waiting for what she might do next. She was on her everyday morning stroll by the lake just outside of their family mansion. Once again, she repeats the same questions in her mind.

"Young miss, it's time for breakfast." A man in his twenties called out as he was fixing his tie. "Hmm...i'll be there in a minute."

Back inside the mansion Butler Lee, the man who called her earlier, was standing at the door waiting for her. "Young miss, please wash your hands and head to the dining area." Eliz simply nodded her head and did as she was asked. At the dining table was her grandparents, stepmother, father and siblings waiting. Why stepmother though you ask? Eliz's mother was framed by her stepmother causing her death due to heartattack. "Come dear, sit beside me.", Mrs. Black said. "I am no daughter of yours madam so please refrain from doing such things." "Eliz enough of this and sit with your mother!" a scold from her father came as fast as she finished those words.

After such suffocating breakfast with the family, Eliz was called to the study. 'tok tok', "Come in." a sweet and tender voice answered. "Good afternoon grandfather, for what have you called me?" "My dear, I want to tell you that since the experiment was successful, you may not need to go to school anymore." After this news was heard, the next thing that filled the room was silence. This depressing air continued for atleast ten minutes before she answered. "If I were not to go to school, how will I enhance this ability?" "You may attend special classes here." "But isn't that like imprisoning me?" Her Grandfather was taken aback from her answer. "I will think once more. You may take your leave." Eliz once again simply nodded and went to her room.

Because of that talk in the study, Eliz can't help but feel bad about it. She can't even focus on what to do or think next.

It was now afternoon and Eliz is looking around in the mansion. "What are you looking at?" "Don't try to scare me, i can hear your footsteps." Axel, her older brother, was a nineteen year old boy who loves Eliz a lot even though there's a lot of competition inside the family. "I know sis, but i'll still try." "As you wish bro."

"Young miss, madam wants you to come to her room." "Alright. Thank you butler Lee." After bowing for respect, butler Lee left the two alone for privacy. "What does that witch want?", another sigh came from Axel. "How would I know? But one thing is sure, it's about what happened in the morning." "Jeez, you became smarter after that experiment." "Hmm...see ya bro." "Take care."

Once again, Eliz's critical thinking is on.
