They Called Me a Villainess So I Proved Them Right !

Chapter 1 — The Worst Day of My Life (And It Got Weirder)

(Thinking: What the heck?? Is he making sounds while drinking wine??)

Blind date number 34 — So what do you think of going to a motel after this? I mean you look quite fine, I'm impressed, so I thought of giving you a chance. What do you say? (Smiles confidently)

(Thinking: Huh?? Giving ME a chance? This birdbrain of a man is giving ME a chance?)

Blind date number 34 — Why aren't you saying anything? Oh, I see you're shy! (Laughs) I like shy ones. (Grabs my hand and kisses it with lips that still had food on them, then winks) Don't be shy, I'll go easy on you.

(Gets up)

Blind date number 34 — What happened? Are you ready to go? Can't wait, huh?

(Slaps the hell out of him)

You disgusting frog! YOU'LL give ME a chance? I bet you'll never get married! (Grabs purse) We're done here. (Leaves)

Blind date number 34 — Han Soo-Yeon! Wait — hey! How could you!

(Outside the restaurant)

(Shouts) Are all good men extinct?!

(A kid tugs his mother's sleeve) Mom, is this aunty crazy?

(His mother) Shh, let's go.

Aunty?? Hey you little potato, how dare you — come back here! (Sighs) Why am I so unlucky? Forget it. I'm going home.

The only men worth loving exist in novels anyway.

(Started walking towards the bus stop) I'm so tired. This is so annoying.

(Almost reached the bus stop)

(Bus leaving) Woah — hey, wait! Wait for me, don't go!

(Falls down) That was the last bus.

(Shouts) Why me?!

(Tears of frustration in eyes, clothes dirty from the fall)

(Phone rings) Why is Manager Kim calling me this late?

Yes?

Manager Kim — Han Soo-Yeon, I know tomorrow's a holiday, but could you come to the office? We've got a lot of work. You understand me, right? I'll buy you a drink after work. Be on time. Bye.

(Anger level broke the meter)

(Shouts) Aaahhhh — damn it! This truly sucks! First that frog, then that kid, now this donkey of a manager. Am I his personal slave?! Why would I do his work on a weekend?! Ahhh — is this world truly against me? I missed my last bus too. Damn it.

(Starts walking)

(Spots a market) Huh? This is new. Was this market here before? Anyways, let's check it out.

(Goes in)

Vendor 1 — Ma'am, come here! We've got all kinds of DVDs!

Vendor 2 — Here, here! We've got all kinds of snacks!

Vendor 3 — Are you looking for a novel? Fresh new stock just arrived!

Really? Show me!

Vendor 3 — Yes, yes! Look — this one is extremely good, it just came in today.

"The Fate of the Saintess Olivia Smith"

(Looks) Is it really good?

Vendor 3 — Yes it is! You should try it. I'll even give you a discount.

A discount? Really?

Vendor 3 — It costs 10,000 won, but I'll give it to you for 6,000 won. What do you think?

Hmm... that's actually a good deal.

Vendor 3 — Don't think, just buy it! You won't find a deal like this anywhere else.

Ahhh, alright! I'll take it.

(Buys the book)

Vendor 3 — (Smiles) Excuse me — you should read it in one go.

(Thinking: Why would he say that? ...Anyways.)

(Calls a taxi home)

(Reaches home)

Alright. At least now I won't feel so down.

(Takes a bath and arranges the snacks)

Now then — time to read.

(Starts reading)

(At 3:10 AM, finally finished)

What the heck?? A commoner girl became the Saintess out of nowhere just by having healing powers — and that birdbrain Crown Prince Henry de Castile broke his engagement with the perfect, powerful, rich Seraphina Williams — the Duke's own daughter — for THAT commoner? Are you kidding me?

And on top of that — how could Seraphina just die like that? Why the hell would she poison the royal princess? That's complete nonsense. I bet she was framed. They called HER the villainess? Please. That commoner Olivia Smith is the real villain. Always shedding fake tears, manipulating everyone around her.

(Throws herself back on the pillow)

What a waste. I'm going to sleep.

(Falls asleep)

(Maid calling softly) Lady Seraphina... Lady Seraphina, it's time to wake up. You'll miss breakfast. Everyone is waiting for you in the dining hall. Lady Seraphina, please wake up.

(Opens eyes slowly)

(Muttering) Who...? Why should I wake up... it's the weekend...

(Sits up suddenly)

Wait — right! I have to go to the office today. How could I forget? What time is it?! That donkey will make me work overtime if I'm late—

Maid — What donkey? Lady Seraphina, did you have a bad dream?

(Looks at the maid)

(Thinking: Wow... she's gorgeous. Wait — what did she just call me?)

Maid — Lady Seraphina? Are you alright? Did you have a bad dream?

...Huh? Seraphina? Who?

(Looks around the unfamiliar grand room slowly)

...Me?
