CHAPTER 1

"Haa! Haa! Haaa!!" Ernest, an old rich man of 75 dressed in light suit, panted the pressure that was below him. A young dark haired lady raised her head from in between his legs, both sweating slightly at the intense work.

" Are you getting longer?, I don't think it'll fit anymore".The young lady said as she bent down to continue her job. " Didn't you say you were 12 inch".

Ernest sucked in air as he felt the tip hit the hard surface jolting his senses.

"Wait ,wait ,wait" Ernest panted . "The shoe doesn't fit anymore remove it".

"I thought you liked it ". The young lady said as she removed the shoes from Ernest legs. A sense of relief settled on Ernest as he twigled his toes to reduce the pain.

" I did like the design but what's the use of it doesn't fit, Ernest replied as he slipped his bare foot into his own shoe. "don't you have something like that but a bit longer"?

The young lady bowed in apology , "I'm sorry we don't have it in our store yet"

"Figures" Ernest huffed. His butler approached him and gave him a hankie to wipe his face.

"Should we go to other stores to buy your shoes sir?". The butler asked.

Ernest shook his head slowly. "That won't be necessary, besides I am a bit late for the meeting". He stood up, straightened his clothes and exited the store.

The meeting took too much time that Ernest thought he was going to die of boredom. Though it was his company he didn't regard it as an thing so he didn't alter a word. His company, ARTIUM, was the second largest and most successful company in the world. It had branches all round, and the outrageous amount he made annually could make an illiterate faint from shock. His name widely known but face never seen. Why? He didn't like publication or popularity in that aspect, it could cause problems in future. He was finally relieved when the meeting was finished, by then it was already five O'clock in the evening and he didn't want to be late for his wife birthday.

He had already stocked the bouquet of roses into the front passenger seat and was in the process of sliding in when he heard a voice call out behind him. He saw a man in cap holding some film racks walking towards him.

" Uhm, hello, who are you?". Ernest asked as he stared at the man's grinning face.

"Good day sir ". The man said." Am a game seller and I was wondering if you are interested in purchasing.....". continued the man before he was cut off by Ernest.

" Sorry, but am not interested in games".

"This games are the best in town, they are exi...". Persuaded the man.

" I am not interested in games!". Ernest said firmly. Geez!. He slid into his car, closed the door and started the engine. A knock on his side glass had him reeling with fury. Ernest lowered the glass and stared at the man with furrowed brows.

" What is it". He asked impatiently.

" How about your children am sure they would...". The man tried again.

"look". Ernest said staring at him fully." I've already told you, am not ...". His gaze fell on a black stone with blue marks on it." ... buying it.What is that". continued Ernest pointing at the stone.

" What, oh this is a rune, the person who sold it toe said it was magical".

"Is it ?". Ernest said half hoping it does. Right from childhood he believed in magic.

" Of course not, if it did would I be selling games right now". replied the man. He's got a point there,Ernest told himself. The stone's blue light shone on Ernest and he was mesmorised by its charm

"How much is it" Ernest asked

"You want to buy it"" ? the man said , it was nice to get the useless stone off him for cash.

" I wouldn't ask if I didn't " .

"A hundred bucks". the man said raising his brows

Ernest gave him the money and collected the rune. He stared at it for a while when the man left before he drive away.

"Happy birthday honey" Ernest said as he dropped the bouquet at the foot of the grave while he pulled out some tequila, His wife had died 45years ago on their first year of marriage from a cross gunfire it was also her birthday .Her death shattered his soul and he stopped believing in hope anymore , he didn't remarry or adopt he wasn't interested in it anyways , He talked and drank some tequila , maybe too much tequila, and by 9pm he was on his way home .

He hiccupped as he drove, he could have taken a driver but he didn't know he would drink this much .His dark sleek Lamborghini raced along the one way road and his flash light wasn't on

"Alexa play me memories" Ernest said gibberishly.

The song erupted and it's melody filled the car ,

"Everybody lost sometimes Everybody ,uh uh uh, eh eh" He felt his stomach turn bent his head and puked on the car floor. A trailer head lamp flashed behind the Lamborghini and horned balantly, the wheel turned and the car swerved to a sharp round about turn. Ernest flicked his head up and held on to the wheels to avoid accident.

" Oh shit the brake . where's the goddamed brake". Ernest said as the light of the trailer made him squint. His right foot pressed hard on the accelerator and the car jerked headfirst towards the trailer." ****".

Ernest felt the softness below his back. He breathed the fresh flowery scent, heard the chirping of birds and rustling of trees. Wait? What! TREES!!!.Ernest opened his eyes and found himself surrounded by trees. Only one thought kept ringing in his head .

" Am I dead?". He voiced out.
