The Devil CEO Who Owned My Soul
The city looked different at night.
Lights spread across the streets like a quiet promise of a life that never really slowed down.
Cars moved in long lines, people hurried past each other, and somewhere in the middle of it all stood a girl trying to catch up with everything at once.
Aarushi Mehra stepped out of the cab and looked up at the tall glass building in front of her.
Raudra Corporation.
The name itself carried weight. Power. Authority. It was not just a company people worked in. It was a place people dreamed of reaching.
And somehow, she was here.
Her fingers tightened slightly around the strap of her bag. She took a slow breath, trying to calm the nervous energy building inside her.
This was just an internship. Nothing more. Nothing she could not handle.
Still, there was a strange feeling she could not explain.
As if something was about to change.
As if this place already knew her.
Aarushi shook her head lightly and walked inside.
The lobby was even more overwhelming. Polished floors, soft lights, and an atmosphere so quiet it almost felt controlled.
People moved with purpose. No one looked confused. No one looked lost.
Except her.
She walked towards the reception desk, trying to look as confident as possible.
I am here for the internship program, she said.
The receptionist gave her a quick glance and nodded before pointing towards the elevators.
Nineteenth floor.
Aarushi thanked her and walked towards the elevators, her heartbeat slightly faster now.
The doors opened with a soft sound.
She stepped in.
And just as the doors were about to close, a hand appeared between them.
The doors slid open again.
He walked in.
Aarushi did not know why, but the moment he stepped inside, everything felt different.
The air felt heavier.
The space felt smaller.
And for a second, she forgot to breathe.
He stood beside her, tall and composed, dressed in a perfectly tailored black suit. There was nothing loud about his presence, yet it filled the entire space.
Cold. Calm. Controlled.
Aarushi looked down immediately, unsure why she felt the need to avoid his gaze.
The elevator started moving.
Silence.
The kind that was not comfortable.
The kind that made you aware of every small movement.
She could feel his presence without even looking at him.
It made no sense.
She had never seen him before.
At least, that is what she told herself.
Then, without thinking, her eyes lifted slightly.
And she saw him.
His gaze was already on her.
Not curious.
Not surprised.
Just steady.
Intense.
As if he was looking at something he had been waiting for.
Aarushi felt her throat go dry.
There was something in his eyes.
Something she could not understand.
Something that made her feel like she was not a stranger to him.
The elevator stopped.
The doors opened.
But neither of them moved for a second.
Then he stepped forward.
Aarushi quickly moved aside, letting him pass.
As he walked out, he paused for just a moment.
Not enough for anyone else to notice.
But enough for her.
You are late, he said quietly.
Aarushi frowned slightly, confused.
I think you are mistaken.
I just arrived.
He turned his head just enough to look at her again.
And for a brief second, something unreadable passed through his eyes.
No, he said.
You took longer than I expected.
Before she could respond, he walked away.
Leaving her standing there, completely still.
Aarushi stared at his back as he disappeared down the hallway.
Her mind struggled to make sense of what had just happened.
Who was he?
And why did it feel like that was not their first meeting?
She shook her head again, trying to push the thought away.
This was her first day. She needed to focus.
Nothing else mattered.
But somewhere deep inside, a quiet feeling refused to fade.
As if a door had just opened.
And there was no going back.
