The Birth Under the Star

Far beyond the restless seas, in a land untouched by the worries of the Blue Valley Kingdom, there existed a kingdom hidden between valleys of mist and rivers that shimmered under moonlight. It was a land known not for war or power—but for its harmony. The people lived close to nature, and the air itself carried a quiet peace, as if the world had chosen to rest there.

But on one particular night—

Even peace trembled.

The sky was unlike anything seen before.

Stars gathered unnaturally, clustering together as though drawn by an unseen force. The winds slowed, the rivers stilled, and even the night creatures fell silent.

Inside the royal palace, chaos replaced calm.

“The Queen is in pain!” a maid cried, rushing through the corridors.

Physicians, healers, and attendants gathered quickly, their faces tense with urgency. The Queen lay within her chambers, her breaths uneven, her hands gripping the silk sheets as waves of pain overtook her.

“This is no ordinary birth…” whispered the chief physician, his voice filled with unease.

Outside the chamber, the King paced relentlessly.

Every cry from within struck his heart like a blade.

“Why is it taking so long?” he demanded, though no one could answer.

Because something far greater than time was unfolding.

At the highest tower of the palace, the kingdom’s astrologer stood frozen beneath the sky.

He had spent his life studying the stars…

But never had they felt so alive.

“They are moving…” he whispered, his voice trembling. “Not in pattern… but in purpose.”

A sudden beam of light broke through the heavens, brighter than any star.

It did not fall.

It descended.

Straight toward the palace.

At that exact moment—

A cry echoed through the royal chamber.

A child was born.

And with her first breath—

The world changed.

The lamps flickered violently before steadying into a golden glow. The air grew warm, wrapping around the room like a gentle embrace. The Queen, exhausted yet trembling, looked down at the child placed in her arms.

For a moment—

She could not breathe.

The child was peaceful.

Too peaceful.

As if she had not entered the world… but returned to it.

Her tiny chest rose and fell softly.

And there—

At the center of her chest—

A faint, glowing mark appeared.

A crescent moon.

Soft.

Radiant.

Alive.

The physician stepped back in shock.

“This… this is impossible…”

The Queen’s fingers trembled as she touched the mark gently.

It pulsed under her touch.

Warm.

Not like skin—

But like light itself.

“Is she… safe?” the King asked, his voice breaking as he entered the chamber.

No one answered immediately.

Because no one truly knew.

The Queen looked up at him, her eyes filled not with fear—

But with something deeper.

“She is… extraordinary.”

Outside the palace—

The people began to notice.

Dry flowers that had long withered suddenly bloomed.

A barren well filled with water overnight.

A sick child, resting near the palace gates, opened his eyes after days of silence.

Whispers spread like wildfire.

“Something has happened…”

“A miracle…”

“The heavens have blessed us…”

Above them—

A new star appeared.

Brighter than all others.

Unfading.

Watching.

Back inside the chamber, the Queen held her daughter close, unwilling to let go.

“What have we brought into this world…” she whispered softly.

The King stood beside her, his expression unreadable.

But his hand, resting near the child, trembled slightly.

“This child…” the physician said cautiously, “must be protected.”

“From what?” the King asked.

The old man hesitated.

Then answered—

“From the world.”

Hours later, the astrologer rushed into the palace, breathless, eyes wide with realization.

He did not bow.

He did not speak formally.

Instead, he fell to his knees before the King and Queen.

“It has begun,” he said.

The King frowned.

“What has?”

The astrologer lifted his gaze slowly… and looked at the child.

“The prophecy.”

Silence filled the room.

The Queen tightened her hold on her daughter.

“No,” she said instinctively. “She is just my child.”

The astrologer’s voice softened.

“Yes… she is.”

“But she is also the one the stars have been waiting for.”

The King’s expression hardened.

“Then the stars will have to wait.”

Because in that moment—

He was not a king.

He was a father.

That night, as the kingdom slept under the watch of the new star, the Queen made a decision.

No celebrations.

No announcements.

No grand declarations.

“This birth…” she said firmly, “will remain a secret.”

The King looked at her in surprise.

“You would hide her?”

“I would protect her,” she corrected.

“If the world learns of what she is… they will not come with respect. They will come with desire. With fear. With greed.”

She looked down at the child, her voice softening.

“She deserves to live… before she is worshipped… or hunted.”

The King remained silent for a long moment.

Then—

He nodded.

And so, the child was given a name in whispers, not in ceremony.

Aeliana.

The one born under the star.

The one marked by the moon.

The one who would one day—

Change the fate of kingdoms.

Far across the sea—

The travelers continued their journey.

Unaware…

That the child they sought—

Had already been born.
