Stephani found him sitting on the floor, his back pressed against the wall, his hands clutching his head as if he was trying to hold himself together. His breathing was fast and heavy, and his expression kept shifting—one moment it was the soft, pained look of Vann, and the next it was the tight, strained hardness of Morvan.
“Stop… please… just stop…” he whispered, his voice trembling and changing pitch as the two sides fought for dominance. “I don’t know what to do anymore… it hurts… it feels like I’m breaking apart…”
Stephani’s heart ached as she saw him like this. She knew exactly what was happening—their disagreement had turned into a battle within their own mind and body, and the strain was taking its toll on both of them. She moved slowly toward him, not wanting to startle him, and knelt down right in front of him.
“Morvan… Vann… listen to me,” she said softly but firmly, her voice cutting through the chaos inside his mind. “I am here. You are safe. There is no need to fight. There is no need to hurt each other. You are not enemies… you are parts of the same whole. You need each other more than you realize.”
She reached out and gently took his hands in hers, holding them tightly but gently, letting her warmth flow through him.
“Vann, my love,” she continued, speaking directly to the gentle side, “I know you want to go out and enjoy life, to feel happy and free, and there is nothing wrong with that. Life is meant to be lived, felt, and celebrated. But Morvan is right too—there are dangers in the world, and we need to be careful, we need to protect ourselves. He is not stopping you because he wants to hurt you or keep you locked away. He is stopping you because he loves you, and he is afraid that something will happen to you. He has spent his whole life keeping you safe, and that is how he shows his love.”
Then she turned her attention to the other side, her voice remaining just as kind and understanding.
“And Morvan… I know you want to keep us safe, and I admire your strength and your sense of responsibility more than I can say. But safety does not mean shutting everything out. It does not mean we cannot feel joy or happiness or love. If we spend our whole lives hiding from pain, we also hide from everything good and beautiful in this world. Vann is not asking you to be reckless or careless. He is asking you to share life with him. He is asking you to let him bring color and light into the life you have built so carefully. You protect him from harm, and he gives meaning to the life you protect. You are two pieces of the same puzzle, and neither of you is complete without the other.”
As she spoke, the struggle inside him began to fade. The rapid breathing slowed down, the pained expression softened, and the tension left his body. For a moment, there was a quiet stillness, and then he looked up at her—his eyes holding a mixture of both sides, calm and clear. It was a rare moment when both personalities were present at the same time, listening, understanding, and agreeing.
“You really do understand everything, don’t you?” he said, his voice holding the softness of Vann and the depth of Morvan, blending together perfectly. “We have been fighting each other for so long… we thought we were competing for control, but we never realized that we were actually competing for the same thing: survival, happiness, and a place to belong. We were so busy trying to be separate that we forgot we are stronger when we are together.”
Stephani smiled through her tears, squeezing his hands gently. “That is exactly right. You don’t have to choose anymore. You don’t have to be one or the other. You can be both. You can work together, make decisions together, and live life together. Vann can show you how to feel and love, and Morvan can show him how to be strong and wise. Together, you are unstoppable. Together, you are the most amazing person I have ever known.”
From that day on, things changed between them completely. The conflict that had existed for so long turned into cooperation and understanding. They learned to communicate better, to listen to each other, and to make decisions together. When they needed to be strong, logical, and careful, Morvan would take the lead, but he would always listen to Vann’s feelings and thoughts. When they needed to be gentle, creative, and open-hearted, Vann would step forward, but he would always respect Morvan’s advice and guidance.
They became partners in every sense of the word, living in harmony within their shared body and mind. And with Stephani by their side, supporting them, loving them, and guiding them, their life became more beautiful, more meaningful, and more complete than it had ever been before.
