“Gone… Or Reborn?”
The Kingdom of Arvelia was known for its golden light and peaceful skies.
But inside the royal palace, silence ruled everything.
At the highest tower stood a girl alone by the window.
Her name was—
👑 Aeliana Virel.
She was only ten years old.
But there was nothing childlike about her presence.
Long black hair flowed gently over her shoulders. Her eyes were deep red, calm and unreadable, as if they had already seen too much for someone her age.
She stood still, watching the kingdom below.
No excitement. No wonder. Just silence.
Something strange happened in the room.
The mirror behind her flickered.
At first, it showed only her reflection.
But then—
It moved… slightly later than she did.
Aeliana froze.
“…Am I imagining things?” she whispered softly.
The mirror did not answer.
That night, the palace changed.
Every light went out at once.
The air became heavy, still, unnatural.
And in the corner of her room—
A shadow appeared.
At first, it looked like darkness.
But slowly, it took shape.
A girl.
Exactly like her.
Same hair. Same eyes. Same presence.
But something was different.
It smiled.
Aeliana stepped back.
“Who are you?” she asked firmly.
The shadow did not answer immediately.
It simply stared at her.
Then it spoke softly:
“I am not someone else…”
“I am the path you have not reached yet.”
Aeliana’s breath tightened.
“What does that mean?”
The shadow turned toward the window.
And gently placed its hand on the glass.
But strangely—
There was no reflection of it.
Aeliana’s heart raced.
Something inside her mind stirred… like a forgotten memory trying to wake up.
The next morning, everything was normal.
The servants remembered nothing.
The palace acted as if nothing had happened.
But Aeliana knew the truth.
Something had changed.
When she looked into the mirror again—
She was not alone.
The shadow stood beside her once more.
And this time, it whispered:
“You have lived before…
and you will live again.”
Aeliana’s eyes widened.
“Again…?”
The shadow slowly faded.
Its final words lingered in the air:
“When you forget who you were… you will finally become who you are meant to be.”
Aeliana stood silently.
For the first time in her life…
She wondered if she had ever truly been only ten years old.
And somewhere deep inside the palace—
A door to something unknown slowly began to open.A faint sound echoed through the corridors.
Not loud. Not sharp.
More like a breath… slipping through the walls of reality itself.
Aeliana turned her head slightly.
Her red eyes narrowed, trying to understand where the sound came from.
But the palace remained still.
Too still.
Even the candles stopped flickering for a moment, as if the world itself was holding its breath.
Then she saw it again.
In the mirror.
The shadow.
Except this time, it was not standing beside her.
It was behind her reflection.
Watching.
Waiting.
Aeliana stepped closer to the mirror, her fingers hovering just above the glass surface.
“Why are you here?” she whispered.
The reflection did not answer immediately.
Instead, the shadow tilted its head slowly, as if studying her soul rather than her face.
Then it spoke again, softer than before:
“Because you are not complete yet.”
A sharp silence followed those words.
Aeliana felt something tighten inside her chest—an unfamiliar emotion, like a memory trying to force its way through a locked door in her mind.
Images flashed for a fraction of a second.
A different sky.
A different place.
A voice calling her name… not Aeliana, but something else she could not fully hear.
She stumbled back, breathing slightly heavier.
“What… is happening to me?”
The shadow’s expression softened, almost like pity.
“You are remembering without remembering.”
The candles in the room flickered violently now.
The air grew colder.
And for the first time, the palace itself seemed to respond to her presence, as if it recognized something inside her that did not belong to this life.
A distant sound of footsteps echoed in the hallway.
But no one entered.
No one was there.
Aeliana turned toward the door.
It was still closed.
Yet the sound continued… like someone walking closer from inside the walls.
The shadow raised its hand slowly, pointing toward the direction of the sound.
“The first fracture has begun.”
Aeliana frowned.
“A fracture?”
“Between who you are… and who you were.”
The words hit deeper than she expected.
Her mind, usually calm and controlled, felt unstable for the first time. Not fear exactly—but disruption. Like reality itself was no longer reliable.
The shadow stepped closer to the mirror’s surface.
Its voice lowered.
“You will live this life as Aeliana Virel…”
“But it is not your first name.”
Aeliana’s eyes trembled slightly.
The mirror began to distort.
Her reflection no longer matched her perfectly.
For a brief moment, she saw another version of herself—older, tired, standing in a place filled with harsh light and broken silence.
A life she had never lived… and somehow already lost.
She closed her eyes tightly.
When she opened them again, everything was normal.
The shadow was gone.
The mirror was still.
The palace was silent once more.
But something inside her had changed permanently.
Aeliana slowly placed her hand over her chest.
Her heartbeat felt unfamiliar now… as if it did not fully belong to her.
And in the deepest part of her mind, one truth remained like a crack in glass:
She was not beginning her story.
She was continuing it.
