LAMPLIGHT

LAMPLIGHT

The novella killer

I had my morning coffee as usual. Stroked my one and a half year old cat, Knitten. And snatched my very own knitted jumper from the wardrobe. Oh, it was the loveliest jumper. sweet, with holes so small you couldn't fit in to get claustrophobic. I knew I would get the beauty stares and compliments. I loved that feeling. Still old into my sixties and given the men their sweet dreams.

Today was my fabulous walk with Mr Fabulous and Mrs Knitten. Both cats from the rough streets were taken into my lovely care. Poor things were so fragile and limped, I couldn't resist.

The walk was, of course, midday to avoid those scum killers. Officials say zero point zero zero zero nine eight zero zero zero zero zero zero zero zero zero zero zero zero zero zero zero zero zero zero two per cent of the population are cold-blooded killers.

Today was a bright day! Little to no fog. I could just make out the three neighbours' homes and the Forrests' face!

Both cats had jumped and strode along the pavement with me. That was until I caught a young Finn Flute. He looked drained and injured, a pressure from the heavens weighted down onto his body.

“Oh, my. Are you okay sweetheart?” I extend my hand out to the poor thing. Both cats piloted his legs, tore, and scratched jeans. My word he was a mess. The poor thing leaned into me for stability. His legs were frigid and held a weak limp. Lips had parted, and whimpered in a weak strangled tone. I couldn't hold it anymore and sped walked to my house. Finn’s arm draped around my shoulder.

Once at the door I cut my key into the lock and entered through. Placed him on my couch, the most comfortable seat obviously. Without a question, I scurried to the kitchen and hand-made a cup of tea. My cats who normally always bothered Finn around the house, skawked at him; they kept a close eye. deep into his intent. I would chuckle as I made the tea. Silly Boys with their weird minds on such occasions. I stirred the hot tea and yelped hard as it spat onto my finger. “Ah.” I was fine. I brought my finger to my lips and pushed his tea into my grip.

Then walked in and noticed him quickly shift into a stiff posture. Strange. “Hey, sweetie, how are you?” I sat beside him and placed tea into his weird almost crippled grip. From Finn's lips escaped a soft, vulnerable: t-tanks. This is where I completely fell to Finn's vulnerability. “Oh, sweetie, is there anything else I could give you?”

“Mehbe, a bath,” his tone fast and less vulnerable, but still a child I need of help. “Oh, of course. Stay here and I'll get it ready for you.” I took off to the task but the boy whimpered and grabbed my thumb. “I-umm, could you. You go first, then when you get out I go in? Just so I know for my sympathy, I don't want you to run out of hot water.”

“Aw, if it truly means that much then yes, I will.” and so swelled with the most utter affection, I did so.

Chapter 1, part 2. All power taken.

By now she should not have known it, her narrative should be taken like a life.

By then, bathed in her own hot water, and ashed alive. will be struck by two hundred and thirty volts. Her phone was plugged into the socket and thrown into her death bath.

I'd kill to hear her scream, blood would piss out of her body and smoke would suffocate her system.

“Honey, are you okay?”

“Oh, uhmm. Could I-um borrow your phone while you bathe? Umm, to call my mother?” I asked, with a purposeful and rabbit leg twitch. A close eye on her bright red lips. A word designed to deny me will suffer another day, harder.

“Ummm,” the old hag took a very long breath. “Emmm, sure. Just don’t wander in the forest.” Im going to guess that means don’t wander through her phone. I accidentally scoffed, with a very accomplished smile. Shit.

“Finn? What?”

“Oh, umm,” I vibrated my head very timidly like I was reading a book. A single depressed tear rolled down my carved, handsome, very handsome, very smooth, very very handsome cheek. Evil intent deep within its conscience. “I-I-I just can’t get over the lovely, sweet fact of your kindness. I just want to ache my cheeks so hard they kill this beautiful kindness I don’t deserve.”

“Oh, sweetie you are a dream. If there were boys like you in the days of my childhood. How happy would my life be?”

“Very happy, sweetie.” She’d seemed shocked. The word sweetie came out of her mouth as air swung through the clouds. How I said it was the same?

“Well, Finn I’ll be fast.”

I nodded and waited as the owl did to their prey. Slow, tactical anddd—SNAP! I took off to the phone charger. Asleep on the couch, dreaming of their lovely little days as a phone charger. Soon would that end in frightening electricity and steam.

Fingered locked around its throat. Whaling and screaming it twitched. Then lay dead under my firm grip. “Fucking pathetic.” Such an ego sleep was demolished by me. The type of stuff I scoff at.

Chapter 1, part 3. Electric bath.

Hands had toyed with her bath water. She’d lift her right hand and run it around her body. The last time she had checked for cancer was last bath ago. Frowned by the small bumps and freckles built on her skin. “Still several years on me,” she said to ease off some pressure, accumulated over the day. Had she known I would have shortened that time frame to a fraction of a minute. Not a god but a serial beast.

C-C-Creeeaak.

The door had peered open. She had heard and seen through the bathroom curtains, a shadow crawl through. Heartstrings seemed to clench as hard as possible, while the heart inhaled and exhaled rapidly filled with a constant military ring. Then- click. Straight into the electrical socket a charger plug went in. “H-hey, um.” Swallowed a thick clump of glossy saliva down her throat, “F-Finn?”

The silence grew and so did I. Risen from the ground like a mighty lion, awakened from his what seems beauty sleep, still radiated with fear and fright. I looked directly into her eyes through the bathroom curtains. I could just tell the hag's eyes were pinned open, a prediction of what they’d look like before I had even shocked her.

“Hey! Finn! Help!”

I’d laugh like a handsome beast through my hand, dancing with her phone. I then proceeded to pinch the charger's neck and held the phone dead straight, readying it for its first kill and last life. “You’re going to be a killer but still be killed, sweetie charger.” I pushed the charger into her phone.

“Get out, CREEP!” She stood up inside the bath and swung the curtain to the right. “YOU'RE A CREEP FINN, GET OUT!” She tried to jump out of the bath but slipped back and smacked her head into the wall. It was a loud and satisfying pop like candy in the mouth, just louder and more real. Her folded and naked body had a tangy smell. It changed smells from very bitter and salty to rotten, failed success.

“Stupid bitch. YOU FUCKED MY WHOLE PLAN,” my hand whipped across her dead face. Again and again until I felt satisfied and her cheek was a boat drifting around in the bathtub. Blood dribbled from her skinless cheek down her limp body. I had a whole plan to kill her, the phone was going to spin straight into her eye and fall into the water. A cloud of vapour puffed out from her area, and electricity would have clenched her body even dead. Too late to do that, she’s just going to have to live here until Friday when her friend Cathy comes.
