episode 4

The next morning felt… different.

Yuna stood near the school gate, her fingers lightly gripping the strap of her bag.

She didn’t know why she came early.

Maybe because of what he said.

“Wait here tomorrow morning.”

She clicked her tongue softly.

Why am I even listening to him…?

A sleek black car stopped in front of the gate.

Students immediately started whispering.

“It’s him…”

“Jinhyuk is here…”

The door opened.

Jinhyuk stepped out like it was completely normal for everyone to stare.

His eyes scanned the area—

—and stopped on her.

Of course.

He walked straight toward Yuna.

Without saying a word, he held something out.

A box.

Yuna frowned. “What is this?”

“Open it.”

“I don’t—”

“Just open it,” he said, slightly impatient.

Yuna hesitated… then slowly took the box.

Inside—

A brand new phone.

Not just any phone.

An expensive one.

Her expression immediately hardened.

“I don’t need this.”

Jinhyuk raised an eyebrow. “I broke your phone. I replaced it. Simple.”

“This is not replacing,” she said, closing the box and handing it back. “This is too much.”

“It’s nothing.”

“It’s not nothing to me.”

For a second, neither of them spoke.

Students nearby were already watching the scene like it was a movie.

“Just take it,” he said, his tone firmer now.

Yuna shook her head. “No.”

Jinhyuk frowned. “Why are you making this difficult?”

“Because I don’t want it.”

His patience was slipping again.

“You said your phone broke. Now I’m fixing it. What’s the problem?”

Yuna looked straight at him.

“The problem is… I’m not someone you can just throw money at.”

That made him pause.

For the first time—

he didn’t have an immediate answer.

Yuna placed the box back in his hand.

“If you want to fix it,” she said quietly, “then fix my phone. Not replace my life with something expensive.”

Then she walked past him.

Just like that.

Jinhyuk stood there, unmoving.

The whispers around him faded into nothing.

His eyes dropped to the box in his hand.

Then slowly—

a small, amused smile appeared.

“…interesting.”

Inside the classroom, Lina immediately leaned toward Yuna.

“What happened?! I saw everything!”

Yuna sighed. “Nothing.”

“Nothing?! He literally tried to give you a phone!”

Yuna sat down. “I told him no.”

Lina stared at her like she just witnessed something unbelievable.

“You rejected a rich, handsome guy’s gift?”

Yuna looked out the window.

“I rejected his attitude.”

A few seconds later, the classroom door opened.

Jinhyuk walked in.

His usual careless expression was there—

but his eyes went straight to Yuna.

This time…

there was something different in them.

Not annoyance.

Not anger.

Something else.

Something curious.

He walked to his seat beside her and sat down.

Leaning slightly closer, he spoke in a low voice—

“You’re really different.”

Yuna didn’t look at him. “And you’re really annoying.”

He chuckled softly.

“…I like that.”

Yuna’s hand froze for a second.

From behind, Lina covered her mouth, trying not to laugh.

Oh this is going to be fun.
