That morning… felt different.
The sky was clear, the breeze soft—everything looked normal.
But Neyya’s heart wasn’t.
She walked into the religious school as usual. The children greeted her cheerfully.
“Ustazah Neyya!”
She smiled.
Automatically.
But her mind… was elsewhere.
Zack’s words.
Mieya’s reaction.
And one thing that lingered the most—
“More than you know.”
What exactly was her sister hiding?
“Ustazah?”
Neyya snapped out of it.
A small student tugged at her sleeve.
“Why are you daydreaming?”
Neyya looked down and smiled gently.
“It’s nothing. Let’s read.”
She tried to focus.
Tried to return to her world.
A world that was supposed to be safe.
Outside the school gate—
A black car stopped.
Engine still running.
Tinted windows.
Inside—
Rayqal watched the school.
Calm.
A faint smile formed.
“Cute…” he whispered.
Elsewhere—
Zack stood inside the warehouse.
Baharuddin faced him.
“Boss… we confirmed it. Rayqal’s been around this area for the past two days.”
Zack stayed silent.
His jaw tightened.
“What’s he doing?”
“Observing.”
One word.
But enough to shift the atmosphere.
Zack grabbed his motorcycle keys.
His steps quick.
“Boss—”
“Don’t follow.”
That tone—
final.
Midday.
School ended.
Neyya walked out with a few students.
She waved, making sure each of them was picked up.
As always.
Until they all left—
leaving her alone.
And in that moment—
the silence felt… wrong.
“Teacher…”
A man’s voice.
Neyya turned.
A man stood not far away.
Neat.
Smiling.
Rayqal.
“Yes?”
Neyya replied carefully.
Her instincts—
fully alert.
“I’d like to ask something. Do you have Quran classes for adults?”
His tone was soft.
Normal.
Too normal.
Neyya didn’t answer immediately.
Her eyes assessed him.
His body language… too calm.
“We do. In the afternoon.”
Rayqal nodded.
“That’s good. I’ve been looking for a suitable teacher.”
There was something in the way he said teacher…
that made Neyya uncomfortable.
“You can register at the office.”
She tried to end the conversation.
She stepped away.
“My name is Rayqal.”
Neyya stopped.
“And you… Neyya.”
Slow.
Certain.
Neyya turned back.
Her eyes sharp.
“How do you know my name?”
Rayqal smiled.
Calm.
“I did my homework.”
Neyya’s heart pounded.
Danger.
And in that moment—
The roar of a motorcycle shattered the air.
Zack.
The bike stopped right in front of them.
Zack stepped off.
Removed his helmet.
His eyes locked onto Rayqal.
No smile.
No pleasantries.
Only—
a warning.
“Stay away from her.”
Rayqal chuckled.
“You’re fast.”
Neyya froze.
She looked at Zack.
Then at Rayqal.
“What is this?”
Zack didn’t answer.
His eyes never left Rayqal.
“I told you.”
His voice low.
Dangerous.
Rayqal stepped forward slightly.
Unafraid.
Not even a little.
“And I told you… I like challenges.”
The air grew heavy.
Neyya stood in between—
caught between two worlds.
Ones she never asked for.
“Stop.”
Her voice cut through sharply.
Both men—
fell silent.
Neyya looked at Rayqal.
“You. Leave.”
Rayqal smiled.
“What if I don’t want to?”
One step forward.
Neyya stepped forward too.
Closer.
Her gaze sharp.
Firm.
“Don’t make me regret not hurting you.”
Silence.
Rayqal paused.
Then—
he laughed softly.
“Okay…”
He raised his hands.
Backing off.
“See you again, ustazah.”
He walked away.
But before getting into his car—
he glanced at Zack.
Smiling.
A new game had begun.
Silence returned.
Neyya turned to Zack.
Angry.
“What is all this?”
Zack stayed quiet for a moment.
Then—
“From now on, don’t walk alone.”
“What?”
“He’s not normal.”
Neyya let out a small, sarcastic laugh.
“And you are?”
Zack didn’t answer.
Neyya stepped closer.
Her eyes locked onto his.
“I don’t need a bodyguard.”
Zack lowered his head slightly.
Closer.
“I’m not a bodyguard.”
Pause.
“I’m your problem.”
And somehow—
that line…
was more terrifying than Rayqal. 🔥
