Chapter 5: Daily Confession Mission Begins

Xu Chen had a theory.

Lin Yichen enjoyed causing problems.

“But honestly,” he added thoughtfully, “your face explains the luxury concept better.”

Silence.

Xu Chen closed his eyes briefly.

Song Yu whispered prayers internally.

And Lu Chengyan—

Finally looked directly at him again.

“You flirt very naturally.”

“Thank you.”

“That wasn’t praise.”

“I’ll still accept it.”

Xu Chen nearly lost emotional control.

This actor was unbelievable.

Meanwhile—

Lu Chengyan had officially reached a conclusion.

Lin Yichen was troublesome.

Not because he lacked professionalism.

The opposite, actually.

The actor understood the campaign instantly, adapted quickly, and handled social interaction perfectly.

He was chaos disguised as beauty.

“You talk too much.”

Yichen gasped softly.

“Oh my god.”

Lu Chengyan’s patience thinned another level.

“What now?”

“You are interested in me.”

“No.”

“You answered again.”

Xu Chen: This is fascinating.

Song Yu: This is a nightmare.

As the group walked through the luxurious hallway lined with jewelry displays, several employees immediately bowed their heads respectfully toward Lu Chengyan.

Meanwhile those same employees looked at Lin Yichen like he was either:

incredibly brave

completely insane

Both were correct.

Then—

Yichen suddenly stopped walking.

Everyone paused.

Including Lu Chengyan.

“What.”

Yichen stared toward one of the jewelry displays dramatically.

Inside the glass case rested a silver crown-shaped brooch surrounded by diamonds.

Elegant.

Sharp.

Cold.

Very Lu Chengyan.

“It suits you,” Yichen said suddenly.

Lu Chengyan looked at him briefly.

“The jewelry?”

“No.” Yichen smiled slowly. “The feeling.”

For one second—

Something strangely quiet passed between them.

Then—

Lu Chengyan looked away first.

“Mr. Lin.”

“Mhm?”

“Your imagination is excessive.”

“And your self-control is scary.”

“….”

“Can I challenge it?”

“No.”

“Too late.”

Song Yu grabbed Yichen’s arm immediately.

“Okay!” he announced loudly. “We’re leaving now before someone gets banned from the building.”

Yichen laughed while being dragged backward dramatically.

“Mr. Lu!” he called out.

Lu Chengyan turned slightly.

The actor smiled brightly under the crystal lights.

Beautiful.

Troublesome.

Entirely too alive.

“I’ll see you tomorrow!”

“…You have no schedule tomorrow.”

“I’ll make one.”

Then he winked.

Actually winked.

Song Yu nearly screamed while dragging him away faster.

“You’re insane!”

“He smiled at me.”

“He literally did not!”

“He smiled spiritually.”

“That doesn’t even mean anything!”

Their voices slowly disappeared down the hallway.

Silence returned.

At least—

Until Xu Chen quietly asked beside him:

“Should I prepare additional security?”

Lu Chengyan glanced at him coldly.

Xu Chen looked completely serious.

“….”

For some reason—

Lu Chengyan suddenly felt the beginning of a headache.

And somewhere deep down—

He had the distinct feeling his peaceful life was officially over.
