2. Last day of school

Our final year exams had finally begun.

A part of me was happy because these school days were ending soon, and we would all enter college together.

But somewhere deep inside…

My heart still felt heavy.

And honestly, I didn’t even know why.

“Hey, sweetheart, aren’t we leaving?” Seo Jun teased while standing outside the gate.

Sohi looked at him and smiled softly.

“Yeah, let’s go. Exams are starting from today.”

They started walking side by side toward school.

“Joonie… after exams, if we all go somewhere else… you’ll miss me, right?” she asked sadly.

Seo Jun looked at her for a moment before gently flicking her forehead.

“Who told you I’m going far away from you?” he said softly. “I’ll still be here. Only our college will change, my sweety.”

Sohi’s eyes slowly brightened.

“Really…?”

“Mm. Now come on, or we’ll be late.”

Suddenly, Sohi wrapped her arms around him in a warm hug.

Seo Jun froze completely.

The entire school was loud and excited.

Some students celebrated, while others complained dramatically about how difficult the paper was.

Meanwhile, Sohi’s friend group gathered together outside the school building.

“Guys!” Jae suddenly shouted excitedly. “Our school life is literally ending. We HAVE to go on a trip somewhere!”

Jieun nodded immediately.

“She’s right. We should make one last memory together.”

Everyone slowly agreed.

Sohi smiled softly before speaking,

“Yeah… after this, we don’t even know where life will take us.”

Her voice became quieter.

“So I think… we should enjoy these moments while we still can.”

As she spoke, Seo Jun silently stared into her eyes.

There was something painful hidden behind her smile.

And he noticed it instantly.

Without saying anything, Seo Jun suddenly grabbed Sohi’s wrist and pulled her away from the group.

Jae blinked in shock.

“…What was THAT?”

“What was THAT, guys?” Jae exclaimed dramatically while staring in the direction Seo Jun had taken Sohi.

“Seriously,” Jieun laughed softly. “The way Seo Jun pulled her away… how sweet.”

Jae sighed dreamily.

“I wish someone would take me away like that too.”

“They looked so cute together,” Jieun added with a smile.

Meanwhile, Hyunwoo quietly watched the two disappear down the hallway before shaking his head.

“I really don’t know when those two are finally going to understand each other’s feelings,” he said.

“At this rate, nothing is ever going to happen between them.”

Jae immediately nodded in agreement.

“You’re right. Honestly, I feel bad for Seo Jun sometimes.”

She crossed her arms dramatically.

“Sohi still has no idea about his feelings…”

“And the person who DOES know can’t even confess properly.”

Jieun laughed quietly.

“Love really is complicated.”

Hyunwoo suddenly smirked before looking at Jae.

“You’re saying all this as if you’re any different,” he teased. “Don’t you also like Jieun?”

The moment he said that, Jae’s eyes widened.

“H-Hey!” she shouted. “At least I’m going to confess one day! I’m not like those two, okay?”

Trying to hide her embarrassment, she quickly walked away while pouting cutely.

Hyunwoo chuckled softly.

“She’s unbelievable.”

Then he looked up toward the sky dramatically.

“And God… if possible, please send someone into my life too.”

Jieun burst into laughter beside him.

“You sound desperate.”

“Because I AM.”
