Why Is My Classmate in My Boardroom?

Morning at Crescent Heights didn’t begin with bells.

It began with commentary.

“She’s late again…”

“And still alive. Impressive.”

The hallway buzzed with quiet disbelief, like students were watching a rule-breaking experiment that somehow hadn’t exploded yet.

Then she appeared.

Lucy walked in with her bag slung over one shoulder, steps unhurried, gaze detached. She didn’t adjust to the world.

The world adjusted around her.

She entered the classroom like time owed her an apology.

Aryan was already seated.

Of course he was.

Without looking up, he spoke.

“You’re 27 minutes late.”

Lucy dropped into the seat beside him, leaning back as if punctuality was a personality flaw.

“Time is a suggestion.”

Aryan finally glanced at her.

“For people with no value, maybe.”

A ripple of tension passed through the air.

Lucy smiled slightly, like she enjoyed stepping on conversational landmines.

“Careful. You might start sounding like you care.”

Behind them, the teacher continued talking, unaware that the real conversation in the room had nothing to do with the lesson.

Then—

Two vibrations.

Simultaneous.

Aryan’s phone lit up first.

Emergency Board Meeting. All Directors Present.

At the same time, Lucy’s screen flashed.

Ma’am, urgent. Rival company movement detected.

For a fraction of a second, they both looked at their phones.

Then at each other.

Something flickered.

Not understanding.

Not yet.

But something close enough to make silence feel louder.

They stood up at the exact same moment.

Chairs scraped.

The teacher turned, already irritated.

“Where do you think you’re going—”

Lucy walked out.

“Education can wait.”

Aryan followed, calm as ever.

“It usually does.”

The city watched as two cars moved in opposite directions.

Two different destinations.

Same storm brewing.

At the top of a glass skyscraper—

NOVA GROUP HQ

The boardroom pulsed with anxiety.

“She’s late… this is bad…”

The door opened.

Lucy walked in.

And just like that, the girl from school vanished.

In her place stood someone sharper. Colder. Precise.

Every executive rose instantly.

“Good morning, CEO.”

She sat at the head seat, crossing her legs with effortless authority.

“Report.”

The screen lit up.

Rival Company: OBSIDIAN CORP

“They’re acquiring three of our major partners—”

Lucy’s eyes narrowed slightly.

“…Bold.”

Across the city—

Another tower.

Another boardroom.

Another silence.

OBSIDIAN CORP HQ

The door opened.

Aryan entered.

Every person stood.

“Good morning, sir.”

He sat down, resting into power like it belonged there.

“Continue.”

The screen displayed:

Target: NOVA GROUP

“We’ve begun pressure on Nova Group—”

Aryan interrupted.

“Not enough.”

His gaze didn’t shift.

“Push harder.”

Two rooms.

Two leaders.

One war.

Split across the city, their voices echoed in parallel.

“Destroy Obsidian.”

“Crush Nova.”

Silence followed both commands.

Lucy leaned back slightly, eyes thoughtful.

“…Obsidian’s CEO…”

Aryan rested his chin on his hand.

“…Nova’s CEO…”

A memory flashed.

Fingers brushing.

A moment too small to matter.

Yet it stayed.

Both of them narrowed their eyes.

“…It couldn’t be,” Lucy whispered.

“…Too coincidental,” Aryan murmured.

Elsewhere—

In a room without windows—

Raze watched.

Screens flickered with surveillance feeds.

Lucy’s image paused mid-frame.

“CEO… student… savage…”

He stood slowly, interest sharpening into something far more dangerous.

“…Perfect.”

His eyes gleamed with intent.

“Let’s see who breaks first.”

Evening.

The school rooftop carried the wind like a secret.

Lucy stood alone, hair shifting with the breeze, thoughts quieter than usual.

The door opened.

Aryan stepped in.

Silence.

They faced each other.

“You skipped class,” he said.

She smirked faintly.

“So did you.”

The air between them tightened.

He stepped closer.

“…Where were you?”

She matched the distance.

“Why? Tracking me?”

Their eyes locked.

Something deeper than curiosity now.

“…You feel familiar,” Aryan said quietly.

Lucy’s smile faded, just a fraction.

“…You feel suspicious.”

The wind howled louder, as if the sky itself wanted answers.

But neither of them had them.

Not yet.

Because the real question wasn’t spoken.

It lived between them.

Who are you… really?
