I've always dreamed of this devil, but whenever I get to see his face I wake up.
*Alarm goes off*
Charles yawned as he sat up and stretched, the house was peaceful. He remembered that his sister was at her boyfriend's like she always was. He went downstairs, goes to the kitchen and sees his uncle Theodore enter.
"Had a good night sleep?" He asked, putting down a bag of groceries.
"Yeah, did mom ask you to check on me again? She's such a worrywart," Charles replied back, eating toast.
"Honestly yeah, she asks me 24/7. She said they're going to visit in the summer,"
As Charles didn't reply, uncle Theodore said he had to get going and that Charles should get ready for school. He bid his uncle a farewell.
He got ready for school and walked to school, his personality had changed from a poker to cheerful when he had went in. Everyone who walked by him greeted him and he did it back, he even greeted teachers.
While in class, Charles was in deep thought about that one particular person in his dream, "he felt really familiar," that feeling left him feeling strange, he had never really felt such strong feelings toward a person.
As the doorbell rang, he didn't even notice, a classmate helped him snap out of it. He tried continuing his day without thinking of that person but that didn't happen. So what did he do to distract himself? He went to the local library to find a book, he always lost his sense of time with books and so he found one book that caught his eye. The mysterious painting: Ael.
As he read the book for hours or so. He learned that the book was about a painting that had an angel with blindfolds, holding a white rose while bleeding from the thorns. What was interesting about the book was that it was a painting that had appeared out of nowhere and just had "Ael" on the back and Charles also noticed that it eerily looked like him.
He thought that that was eerie, he had seen that was not normal from his mole to hair, that was exactly him. It was uncanny.
He stared lost in thought for about an hour before the librarian told him that it was closing hours and that he needed to leave. So he decided to take the book home with him.
As he got home, he was greeted by his sister, "welcome home," Sofie greeted him. He looked at her before replying, "well, ain't that a surprise," he took his shoes off and went in.
"Not even a greeting back?" She leaned against the wall. He sarcastically said welcome back. "But is Hudson away or something?" He asked about her boyfriend.
"Can't I just come home?" She said, but he looked at her with a knowing look. "Okay fine, he's away for a game," she admitted. He just entered the kitchen, unamused.
"Well why didn't you just come with him?" He opened the fridge and got some leftovers. He reheated them.
"Well I don't really want to come with him especially since it's like a busy week," She scrolls on her phone.
"Right, anyways I'll be in my room," He went upstairs to his room and closed the door.
After a few hours of sitting on his desk while eating, he eventually fell asleep on his desk. The curtains were swaying as the cold air gets in, as the air flows in, Charles' hair moved away from his face.
The next day, he woke up rather late or slept deeply I'd say, strange thing was that he was on his bed. Weird. He remembered falling asleep on his desk. But as he rubs his eyes, his eyes caught a silhouette of a tall man but as his eyes start to be clear, it was gone. Weird.
As his days went on, he keeps seeing a silhouette of a tall man that actually rather than making him feel uneasy, he feels familiar and comfortable whenever the silhouette shows up, which was again weird.
On one random Friday night, he was at the club with his friends. He had been partying up all night long as he randomly ended up in the club's restroom, he was sitting on the floor wasted with his friends not in sight. A random guy crouches down to his level, "why are you so _______? You should be more careful, ___." The guy had caressed Charles' face so gently and traced the dips of his face as if he had known it before.
"Huh? What? Why are you touching me? Why are you being so gentle?" Charles was confused but also comfortable with the guy's presence, "why am I so comfortable?.." He had thought as he was blacking out to even hear what the other person was saying. He didn't even see his face clearly.
