A week passed peacefully.
Maria and Faiz had officially started dating and to everyone’s surprise, they were ridiculously cute together.
Their entire friend group spent almost every day together, laughing, teasing each other and making memories that somehow made school feel less exhausting.
Then one morning, Adrita suddenly leaned across the desk with a dangerous grin.
“Let’s bunk school today.”
Maria’s eyes widened immediately. “No way.”
“That’s too risky,” Sara said, though she was already half tempted.
The boys, of course, loved the idea.
And somehow, after ten minutes of chaotic planning, they actually did it.
Sara managed to convince the teacher she wasn’t feeling well and got permission to leave early. Maria and Adrita secretly slipped their bags in with hers, while the boys casually blended into the lunch crowd outside.
It worked perfectly.
And for the next few hours, freedom tasted sweeter than it ever had before.
They wandered through the park, bought snacks from random stalls, argued over stupid things, laughed until their stomachs hurt and forgot for a while that they were supposed to be responsible students.
For once, everything felt simple.
When Sara finally got home that evening, exhausted but smiling, her phone buzzed.
A message.
From Ishan.
She frowned.
Ishan: Hey. How are you?
Sara stared at the screen.
No teasing. No mocking. No attitude.
Just a normal text.
Suspiciously normal.
After a moment, she replied.
Sara: I’m fine. Why?
The reply came quickly.
Ishan: Can’t I ask?
She narrowed her eyes at the screen.
What was wrong with this guy?
Still, the conversation continued.
And strangely enough… it felt normal.
For the first time, they talked without arguing.
No sarcasm.
No pointless teasing.
Just casual conversation.
It ended naturally and Sara put her phone away without thinking much of it.
Still… something about it stayed in her mind.
The next morning was Saturday.
Sara had barely finished breakfast when her phone buzzed again.
It was Ishan.
For some reason, their conversation felt easier today.
No teasing. No pointless arguments.
Just casual, normal talking.
They texted about random things school, classmates, silly jokes and before Sarah realized it, nearly an hour had passed.
Then suddenly, Ishan asked:
“Do you have a boyfriend?”
Sara blinked at the screen.
That was random.
She typed back:
“No. Why?”
A few seconds later, another message appeared.
“Just asking. Do you like anyone?”
Sara frowned slightly.
“No. What about you?”
There was a pause.
Then his reply came.
“Yeah. I do.”
Sara's eyebrows lifted.
“Really? Who?”
Another pause.
This time, his answer was slower.
“She’s in our class.”
Sara sat up straighter.
Now she was curious.
“Who is it?”
A few moments later, his reply appeared.
“She has a mole on her cheek.”
Sara thought for a moment.
Then suddenly, one face came to mind.
Prity.
(Sara also have mole on her face)
The sweet, quiet girl from their class.
A smile appeared on Sara’s face.
“That actually makes sense,” she typed. “Prity’s really nice. She’s pretty too.”
A few seconds passed before she added:
“You should tell her. I think she’d like someone honest.”
There was a long pause on the other side.
Then finally:
“Maybe I will.”
Sara smiled faintly at the screen.
“You should. She’s a really good choice.”
This time, Ishan took even longer to reply.
When his message finally came, it was simple.
“Yeah… maybe you’re right.”
Sara put her phone down, feeling oddly satisfied.
She had no idea why the conversation made her smile.
And somewhere behind another screen, Ishan was staring at their chat, shaking his head with a quiet laugh.
She still hadn’t figured it out.
And somehow, he found that strangely adorable.
