Zawadi slowly approached Adili, each of her steps carrying a strange weight, as if she were coming from a world unseen by ordinary eyes. Her expression was calm, but that calmness was more terrifying than anger itself.
“Adili…” she said softly, almost in a whisper.
“You and I are one. If you make a mistake, all your strength will be taken away.”
She stood in front of him for a few seconds, staring deeply into his eyes as though she was reading his soul. Then she continued:
“But I am your wife… and we already have a family.”
Those words fell inside the house like a heavy stone. A deep silence followed, even the sound of the rain outside seemed to fade for a moment.
Bi. Sauda held her chest tightly, her eyes filled with fear and anger at the same time.
“Who… is this woman?” she whispered.
Adila remained frozen in place. Her face showed confusion, fear, and something else she couldn’t explain—like Zawadi’s words had touched something deep inside her heart.
But Adili could no longer hold himself back.
“No!” he shouted in anger and confusion.
“My wife is Adila only! I don’t know you at all! Get out of this house right now!”
Zawadi did not react. She did not get angry. Instead, she looked at him with an unnatural calm, as if his anger meant nothing to her.
“I can help you have a child,” she said in a disturbingly gentle voice.
She turned her gaze directly toward Adila.
“And you… can become a mother.”
Adila felt her body tremble. Every word from Zawadi felt like it was sinking directly into her blood.
“Everything you desire… can come true.”
Suddenly, Zawadi’s expression changed slightly. Her faint smile disappeared, replaced by a mixture of sadness and darkness.
“But I need Adili. He is the only one who can help me bring back my children.”
Adili stepped forward angrily, trying to hide the fear tightening in his chest.
“We don’t understand what you’re saying! Get out of my house! We don’t want you here!”
Zawadi fell silent for a moment. Her silence was so heavy that even the air seemed to stop moving.
Then she spoke in a cold, sharp voice:
“Do not oppose me.”
Suddenly, she grabbed Adila’s hand with unnatural force. Adila screamed in pain and shock.
“AAAAH!”
“Let her go!” Adili shouted, trying to pull Adila away.
But Zawadi’s strength was not human.
She leaned closer to Adila’s face, her eyes completely black, and whispered:
“Soon you will become pregnant. And you will be called a mother, just as you desire.”
Adila held her stomach in shock, tears forming in her eyes.
“Me…?” she whispered weakly.
Zawadi continued without blinking:
“But once you give birth… I will come to take my husband back.”
A heavy silence filled the room. Even Bi. Sauda could not speak.
Then Zawadi stepped back slowly, her expression turning serious and threatening.
“And do not go to the hospital. If you do, you will lose everything.”
Suddenly, a strong wind swept through the house, slamming the windows open.
WOOOOOOOSH!
All the lights went out for a few seconds. Darkness swallowed everything.
A faint whispering sound moved through the wind, but no one could understand it.
When the light returned…
Zawadi was gone.
SILENCE OF FEAR
The house remained completely silent, like a tomb.
Bi. Sauda held onto the wall to keep herself from falling.
“She is not human…” she whispered, her voice broken.
Adili slowly sat down, holding his head with both hands.
“Her words… make no sense, but they confuse me deeply. It feels like I’m trapped in a nightmare that won’t end.”
But Adila said nothing.
She remained silent, staring into space, her hand slowly moving toward her stomach without her realizing it.
ONE MONTH LATER
Days passed slowly inside the tense house.
Adila began to change:
frequent nausea
unusual fatigue
unexplained weakness in her body
Bi. Sauda was overjoyed.
“I told you! God has answered our prayers! This house will finally have a child!”
She even started telling neighbors happily, as if everything was normal.
But Adili felt no happiness.
He sat quietly, constantly remembering Zawadi’s words:
“Do not go to the hospital.”
And every time he remembered them, his head began to hurt violently, as if something was trying to force its way into his mind.
One night, he woke up drenched in sweat. He looked at Adila sleeping peacefully, but deep inside him, a strange fear refused to leave.
“This is not normal…” he whispered.
FINAL FEAR
One night of heavy silence, Adila suddenly woke up.
She felt something strange in her stomach—not pain, not joy, but a disturbing sense of unease.
She placed her hand gently on her belly.
“I wished so much to be called a mother…” she whispered softly.
“But now… I am afraid.”
Outside the window, a shadow passed for just a second.
It stopped in the distance, watching their house silently.
Then a low voice echoed from the darkness, like a whisper carried by the wind:
“Now my journey begins…”
