Hello everyone, and welcome to Architects of Balance— my love letter to Shoto Todoroki and Momo Yaoyorozu, and the beautiful, complementary dynamic they have shared since the very beginning of My Hero Academia.

First and foremost: this is an Alternate Universe (AU) story, built upon the foundation of the original series but expanded, interpreted, and reimagined to fit the story I wanted to tell. Every choice I made was done with one goal in mind: to stay 100% true to their canon personalities, values, and growth, while exploring the parts of their lives we never got to see— their adult years, their life as professional heroes, the love they built, and the family they created.

I wrote Shoto exactly as he is in the source material: straightforward, sincere, quiet but deeply feeling, always striving for balance, healing from his past, and loyal to the people he loves. He is not overly dramatic or overly talkative; he means every word he says, and shows his love through action, consistency, and care. I wrote Momo exactly as she is: intelligent, poised, kind, endlessly capable, and someone who grew from doubting her worth into a confident, brilliant leader who lifts everyone around her. She is never reduced to just "smart" or "rich"— she is strategic, empathetic, and the steady ground that holds everything together, just like she was written to be.

All the events from their time at U.A.— the USJ attack, the Sports Festival, the Hero Killer arc, Joint Training, the Paranormal Liberation War, and the Final War— are referenced as their history, the experiences that shaped them and built the trust between them. Where this story diverges is everything that comes after: how they grew into the top heroes they become, how their partnership turned into love, how they navigated life and duty side by side, and the legacy they chose to build together.

This story is rated R-18 / 18+ for two main reasons: first, because it depicts their life as adults— meaning it includes consensual, explicit intimate scenes that are a natural, meaningful part of their married life, written with respect, emotional depth, and true to their characters. Second, because it portrays hero work in its full, unfiltered reality: intense, graphic combat, injuries, destruction, and the heavy weight of responsibility that comes with saving lives, far more detailed than what we see in the original series. Violence is never glorified, but shown as the cost of protecting others.

I also wanted to explore what happens when two people who were once incomplete— Shoto split by fire and ice, Momo doubting her own worth— find wholeness in each other. Their future children are original creations, designed to perfectly blend their parents' powers, looks, and spirits, representing the perfect balance they finally achieved.

Timeline: Set 8 years after the Final War, exploring the adult lives of the characters— a time period not fully detailed in the original manga/anime.

Hero Rankings: The specific ranks assigned here (Shoto: No. 2, Momo: No. 19, and Class 1-A rankings) are original to this story, created to reflect their growth, roles, and specializations.

Relationship Development: The progression from classmates → teammates → trusted partners → lovers → spouses is written as an original slow-burn arc, built entirely on their existing bond but not depicted in official material.

Original Characters: Their future children are original creations, with unique mixed quirks, personalities, and appearances designed specifically to blend Shoto and Momo's traits.
