The Tale of Tahjin

The Tale of Tahjin

Prologue

In a faraway kingdom, within a city called Tahjin lived a woman and her daughter. Tahjin was surrounded by huge trees and within it was an enchanted forest. The woman was once a queen but her brother murdered her husband and drove her out of the palace. The name of this ex Queen was Theodora and her daughter was called Sardust. Stardust knew nothing about her royal lineage thus they lived peacefully in the land of Tahjin protected by the enchanted forest.

King Philip, the brother of Theodora, had killed his brother in law, the king of Chimeria to become king. He had driven his sister out of the palace without the knowledge that she was with child. Although he was now ruling the kingdom of Chimeria he wasn't happy because Theodora had cursed the royal land. Every land within three miles of the palace walls was barren. For years Philip tired to think of a solution for this problem until one day he finally decided that he had the best solution.

"Tiberius" he shouted.

"Yes, your majesty" answered the smartest and strongest of the royal guards.

"You are to go beyond the Misty woods into the city of Tahjin and kill Theodora" Philip commanded.

"As you wish your highness" Tiberius replied with a bow. Tiberius did not have the heart to kill his Queen being that he had made a vow to protect the original King and Queen. Arming himself and five other Palace guards who were really mages they set out to meet their Queen. Arriving at the entrance of the Misty woods one of the mages, a young boy with sparkling blue eyes and shining blonde hair by the name of Ivanhoe made a magical door through which they passed to enter the city of Tajin. Theodora met them in the inn of Flowers which was situated directly outside the gates of Tahjin. After a short meeting they walked through the gates of Tahjin. The gates closed behind them and vanished never to be seen again.

meanwhile deep in the shrine of the goddess areas the wise old prophetess Peutina circled the seven little candles on the altar. A young warrior had been brought to her by the people of the city of Putah. They were afraid that he might be a spy sent by King Phillip to report their source of prosperity. Peutina glanced at the warrior, circled the altar one more time and sat on her chair. She beckoned to him to draw closer. Placing her hands, palms up, on his head she said, to the elders of Putah, " Be not afraid for Iris had led him forth from Goldina the city of wealth and beauty to our city Putah. The goddess wants us to aid him in his trip to Tahjin he will be needed for the upcoming battle."

"Oh wise one", one of the eldest said " how can a lad of 15 be sent to fight such a brutal battle?"

" He is far too young" another elder said

"The goddess has chosen him to be one of the soul guide of the Lost princess. This young warrior, Segi, by name has been chosen along with his mage brother Ivanhoe to be knitted to the Lost princess as her soul guides".

With that said, a loud rumble of thunder sounded and the elders left to gather provision for Sergi's journey. Upon reaching the entrance of the misty woods Peutina made a magical door and Sergi passed through meeting Theodora on the other side. They both entered the city of Tajin and was never seen again.
