The rain finally stopped after midnight.
The city outside glittered with wet lights while the penthouse remained wrapped in sleepy silence.
Jungkook couldn’t sleep.
Taehyung could tell immediately.
The omega lay half on top of him beneath the blankets, lazily tracing tiny shapes against Jungkook’s chest while listening to the uneven rhythm of his breathing.
“You’re awake,” Taehyung whispered softly.
Jungkook looked down at him. “So are you.”
“I woke up because mommy stopped cuddling properly.”
Jungkook smiled faintly. “Sorry.”
“Mhm.” Taehyung narrowed his eyes playfully. “Suspicious behavior.”
Jungkook brushed soft strands away from Taehyung’s forehead.
The omega looked unfairly beautiful at night.
Bare face. Sleepy eyes. Soft lips slightly swollen from biting them too much.
Dangerous.
Especially when Taehyung looked at him with so much open affection.
“What’s wrong?” Taehyung asked quietly this time.
Jungkook hesitated.
“Nothing.”
“Liar.”
Taehyung shifted closer until their noses almost touched.
“You get this look when you’re overthinking.”
“What look?”
“The sad one.”
Jungkook’s chest tightened unexpectedly.
Nobody had ever studied him this carefully before.
Taehyung’s hand slid gently into Jungkook’s hair. “Talk to me.”
For a few seconds Jungkook stayed silent.
Then finally—
“I’m not used to this.”
Taehyung blinked sleepily. “To what?”
“All of it.”
His fingers tightened slightly around Taehyung’s waist.
“Being loved this much.”
The room became quiet.
Taehyung’s expression softened instantly.
Jungkook stared somewhere past him while speaking softly.
“You ask for affection so easily… and you give it just as easily too.”
A weak smile appeared on his lips.
“I think part of me still expects it to disappear someday.”
Taehyung’s heart hurt immediately hearing that.
Without hesitation, he climbed fully onto Jungkook until he was hovering above him.
“Look at me.”
Jungkook obeyed quietly.
Taehyung cupped his face carefully.
“I’m not leaving you.”
The certainty in his voice made Jungkook’s breath catch.
Taehyung leaned down slowly until their foreheads touched.
“You hear me?”
Jungkook nodded faintly.
But Taehyung frowned. “No. Say it.”
“…I hear you.”
“Good.”
Then unexpectedly, Taehyung kissed the corner of Jungkook’s eye softly.
“You know what your problem is?”
“What?”
“You act like love is temporary.”
Jungkook froze slightly.
Taehyung smiled sadly. “Like people will wake up one day and stop choosing you.”
The accuracy of it made Jungkook feel exposed.
Taehyung’s thumb brushed gently across his cheek.
“But I choose you every day.”
The words wrapped around Jungkook’s heart painfully.
Warmly.
Taehyung suddenly grinned a little. “And honestly? You’re kind of addictive.”
Jungkook laughed softly. “Addictive?”
“Mhm.” Taehyung nodded seriously. “You take care of me, hold me when I’m emotional, kiss me when I’m annoying—”
“You’re always annoying.”
“Exactly.” Taehyung looked pleased. “And you still love me anyway.”
Jungkook couldn’t even deny it.
Taehyung slowly lowered himself onto Jungkook completely, hiding his face in his neck.
“You know…” he mumbled softly, “sometimes I think we fit together because we both need reassurance.”
Jungkook wrapped his arms around him automatically.
Taehyung continued quietly:
“I ask for love loudly.”
His fingers intertwined with Jungkook’s.
“And you ask for it silently.”
Jungkook closed his eyes briefly.
That sentence felt dangerously true.
Taehyung tilted his head slightly and kissed under Jungkook’s jaw gently.
“But I’m listening carefully now.”
Jungkook’s heartbeat sped up embarrassingly fast.
Taehyung smiled against his skin because he noticed.
Of course he noticed.
The omega lifted his head again, eyes soft and sleepy.
“Can I confess something?”
“You’re already dramatic enough.”
“I’m serious.”
Jungkook brushed his thumb across Taehyung’s cheek. “Okay. Tell me.”
Taehyung looked at him quietly for a moment before whispering:
“I love when you hold me like I’m precious.”
Jungkook’s expression softened instantly.
“Because nobody ever held me carefully before.”
The vulnerability in Taehyung’s voice hurt to hear.
Jungkook immediately pulled him closer.
Carefully. Protectively.
Exactly the way Taehyung loved.
And the omega melted instantly with the softest sigh.
“There…” Taehyung whispered happily. “That.”
Jungkook kissed his forehead gently. “You deserve to be held carefully.”
Taehyung looked up at him with wide eyes.
Then suddenly his expression crumbled emotionally.
“Oh no,” Jungkook murmured, already recognizing the look. “You’re crying again.”
“You’re too sweet,” Taehyung whined weakly. “How am I supposed to survive this?”
Jungkook laughed quietly while wiping away his tears with his thumb.
Taehyung stared at him for a long moment afterward.
Like he was memorizing him.
Then softly—
“Come here, baby.”
Jungkook blinked in surprise.
Taehyung opened his arms warmly this time.
And after only a tiny hesitation…
Jungkook moved.
The omega immediately wrapped him up against his chest, stroking his hair slowly while Jungkook hid his face against his neck.
“You take care of everyone so well,” Taehyung whispered. “But you deserve softness too.”
Jungkook felt his throat tighten painfully.
Nobody had ever spoken to him like this before.
Nobody ever noticed when he needed comfort instead of giving it.
Taehyung kissed the top of his head lovingly.
“My pretty mommy…”
Jungkook almost melted hearing the affection in his voice.
“You don’t always have to be strong with me.”
The room stayed silent after that except for their breathing.
And slowly…
Very slowly…
Jungkook relaxed completely in Taehyung’s arms.
Safe.
Wanted.
Loved.
Taehyung smiled softly while holding him tighter beneath the blankets.
Because maybe Jungkook didn’t realize it yet—
But Taehyung needed love desperately…
And Jungkook needed to be loved just as badly.

Morning came slowly.
Golden sunlight slipped through the curtains, painting soft patterns across the bed.
Taehyung woke first.
Which was rare.
Usually Jungkook woke earlier, already working or making coffee while Taehyung complained dramatically about “morning betrayal.”
But today—
Jungkook was still asleep.
The omega blinked sleepily before lifting his head slightly from Jungkook’s chest.
And immediately softened.
Jungkook looked peaceful like this.
No tension in his brows. No tiredness hiding behind his eyes. No pressure weighing down his shoulders.
Just soft breathing and warm skin beneath Taehyung’s cheek.
Beautiful.
Taehyung smiled quietly and brushed his fingers through Jungkook’s messy hair.
“So pretty,” he whispered.
Jungkook shifted slightly in his sleep, instinctively pulling Taehyung closer.
The omega’s heart melted instantly.
Even asleep, Jungkook searched for him.
Even unconscious, he held him protectively.
Taehyung buried his face against Jungkook’s neck with a tiny smile.
“My mommy loves me too much.”
A sleepy voice answered immediately:
“Only a normal amount.”
Taehyung gasped dramatically. “You were awake?!”
Jungkook opened one eye lazily. “You talk too much.”
“You secretly enjoy it.”
Jungkook hummed quietly, still half asleep.
That alone was enough confirmation.
Taehyung grinned proudly before climbing higher onto Jungkook’s body until he was practically laying on top of him completely.
“Good morning, baby.”
Jungkook smiled faintly at the nickname this time instead of getting shy.
Progress.
“Good morning.”
Taehyung stared at him carefully for a few seconds.
Then suddenly narrowed his eyes.
“What?”
“You smiled differently.”
Jungkook blinked. “What does that mean?”
“That was your soft smile.”
“I have different smiles now?”
“Yes.” Taehyung nodded seriously. “I’ve studied them.”
“Should I be concerned?”
“Very.”
Jungkook laughed softly.
Taehyung immediately melted a little at the sound.
God.
He loved this man so much.
Too much probably.
The omega rested his chin on Jungkook’s chest and spoke quietly:
“You seem lighter today.”
Jungkook looked at him silently.
Then after a moment—
“I think I slept better.”
Taehyung’s expression softened instantly.
“Yeah?”
Jungkook nodded slowly. “It’s easier when you’re holding me.”
The sentence came out naturally.
Without hesitation.
And Taehyung completely froze.
“Oh my god.”
Jungkook immediately realized what he’d said and looked away.
Too late.
Taehyung looked seconds away from exploding emotionally.
“You LIKE being babied?!”
“Taehyung—”
“You like when I hold you?!”
Jungkook covered his face instantly. “Stop yelling.”
“This is groundbreaking information!”
Taehyung looked genuinely overwhelmed.
Then suddenly he grabbed Jungkook’s cheeks dramatically.
“My poor emotionally neglected mommy.”
“I’m going back to sleep.”
“No you’re not.” Taehyung squished his face lovingly. “You’re finally accepting affection like a normal person.”
Jungkook laughed helplessly while Taehyung stared at him with unbearably fond eyes.
Then the omega’s expression softened again.
“Can I say something cheesy?”
“That question already worries me.”
Taehyung ignored him.
“I think…” he whispered quietly, “you’ve spent so long taking care of everyone that you forgot you deserve softness too.”
Jungkook’s smile faded slightly into something more vulnerable.
Taehyung gently brushed his thumb beneath Jungkook’s eye.
“But I’m gonna remind you every day now.”
The sincerity in his voice made Jungkook’s chest ache.
No one had ever promised him something like that before.
Taehyung leaned down and kissed his forehead slowly.
“My baby.”
Jungkook’s ears turned red immediately.
“There it is,” Taehyung whispered proudly. “Cute shy mommy.”
“Don’t call me cute.”
“But you are.”
“I’m older than you.”
“And?”
Taehyung smiled mischievously. “You still blush when I’m affectionate.”
Jungkook tried hiding his face again, but Taehyung only laughed and pulled him closer.
For several quiet moments they stayed tangled together beneath the blankets.
Warm. Sleepy. Comfortable.
Then softly—
“Jungkook?”
“Hm?”
Taehyung traced tiny hearts against his chest absentmindedly.
“Thank you for loving me the way I need.”
Jungkook looked at him carefully.
Taehyung’s voice became smaller.
“I know I ask for a lot.”
“You ask for honesty,” Jungkook corrected gently. “That’s not too much.”
Taehyung’s eyes softened immediately.
Jungkook continued quietly:
“You want reassurance because you care deeply. You want affection because you give affection.”
His fingers slipped into Taehyung’s hair lovingly.
“And honestly?”
Taehyung blinked.
“I like being needed by you.”
The omega made the softest emotional sound.
Jungkook smiled shyly this time.
“Because when you ask me to hold you…” his voice lowered gently, “it feels like you trust me.”
Taehyung’s eyes became watery almost instantly again.
“You can’t say romantic things this early in the morning,” he whispered weakly.
Jungkook laughed softly. “You cry too easily.”
“Because I love you too much.”
The confession came out so naturally.
So simply.
Jungkook stared at him for a moment before pulling him down into a slow kiss.
Soft.
Warm.
Full of affection neither of them knew how to hide anymore.
When they finally pulled apart, Taehyung looked completely melted.
“My mommy kissed me first,” he whispered dramatically.
Jungkook smiled against his lips.
Then quietly—
“You’re mine too, you know.”
Taehyung froze.
The possessiveness in Jungkook’s voice was soft… but real.
And Taehyung absolutely adored it.
A huge smile spread across his face before he buried himself into Jungkook’s arms again.
“Mhm,” he whispered happily. “I’m all yours.”
