"Meine Liebe, Meine Liebe, why did you leave us behind in this misery?" his hands tremble as he holds her hair and touch her bloody porcelain.
His fist clenched to the side as he screams, when he finally let out his anger, he paused and look to the ground where his wife's blood had spurted all over, then he spoke with furry in his voice
"I promise to you, they'll regret everything, I'll make them feel how it feels to lose a masterpiece..." His voice carrying grief and coldness burried in fractured crumpled face.
"rest now my love" he spoke weakly.
Lorenz kneeled clutching his wife's body, his face emotionless, the sirens from the background echoed in his ears mocking him, he can hear Amelia's innocent cries mixing with his agony deep within.
"Papa? Mama?..." faint voice, her petite and Inoccent form a stark contrast to the scene Infront of her.
Lorenz didn't move his head to meet her, he couldn't, how could he?
Amelia stepped forward and looks at both of them
"Papa...why is Mama sleeping on the ground? Why does her dress red?" She asked softly, her mind couldn't process what's happening but she couldn't spill tears.
Lorenz finally meet her wide eyes and hug her daughter tightly, he stares blank, his mind too foggy, but seeing his daughter's inoccent form send a protective nerves to his veins.
"Meine Tochter" he whispers only he can hear to himself.
The ambulance and police finally arrive at the place, they immediately approached the family and investigate.
While the nurses took Iris's body to inside the ambulance and comfort Amelia, the police approached Lorenz who was standing and unresponsive, his wife's blood had also spread through his clothes.
"Mr. Lorenz Hwei" The Sergeant approched calmly "I suggest for you to join your daughter on the hospital while we take care of this, and then we'll inform if you're ready to talk to us on the station" he spoke.
Lorenz looked at him and nod simply while he finally walked and joined his daughter on the ambulance as it drives to the hospital with Iris's body inside.
...HOURS PASSED FELT LIKE AN ETERNITY TO HIM...
He stand besides his wife's covered body while he holds Amelia in his arms, he doesn't say anything.
"Mr. Hwei, you should take a break for awhile, I know what you feel right now...this is tragic for you and your daughter, we prioritize our victim's family and we understand th-"
Before the doctor can continue speaking, Lorenz looked at her sharply
"she needs us in her last moments" he spoke firmly.
The air in the morgue room feels more suffocating between the tension inside.
The doctor stare with disbelief and gulp as she was struck with an unusual force, she nodded.
"I understand Mr. Hwei, take your time" She said with a frighten tone and finally walks away, closing the door firmly.
Amelia whimpers slightly in his arms
"Papa...are you mad?" she asked softly "What happened to mama?"
Lorenz paused slightly in her words, his fury melting slightly.
"Shhh, papa's not mad sweetheart...go to sleep now...mama doesn't want you to be tired" he spoke as Amelia behave in his words.
The clock's ticking continued as Amelia fell into slumber in her father's arms
Lorenz refuses to leave his wife's side even in death, he sit on the bench outside the room while he stare blank and helding his daughter, unshed tears blurred his eyes but his own hand couldn't wipe it.
He can't think straight
He didn't know what to do
He can still see the blood and
Iris's porcelain body shattering slowly
The silence in the hospital hallway felt like a torture for him, silence, just silence...
He tensed slightly when he heard
footsteps approaching, it was familiar, someone from the past...
"Mr. Lorenz Hwei" The voice mix with sympathy and hidden resonance.
Lorenz glances but shows a neutral expression as he sees Mr. Roger standing infront of him
"Mr. Roger?" Lorenz's voice was faint and calculating.
