Episode 5: The Morning Surprise

For several long seconds, neither Minho nor Taehyun moved.

Jiwoo slept soundly between them, one arm wrapped around Minho and the other clutching Taehyun's sleeve.

The storm outside gradually faded.

But somehow, the atmosphere inside the room became even more dangerous.

Minho cleared his throat and carefully looked away.

"I should probably go home."

Taehyun nodded.

"Probably."

Neither moved.

"..."

"..."

Finally, Jiwoo let out a loud snore.

The spell broke instantly.

Both men quietly stood up and escaped the room.

The next morning...

Sunlight streamed through the curtains.

Jiwoo slowly opened his eyes.

For a moment, he looked confused.

Then he remembered everything.

The storm.

The sleepover.

His plan.

The little boy immediately sat up.

"Teacher Lee?"

No answer.

"Daddy?"

No answer.

Jiwoo gasped dramatically.

"They escaped!"

He rushed downstairs.

And froze.

In the dining room, Minho was helping arrange breakfast.

Taehyun was making coffee.

The sight looked so natural that Jiwoo almost cried from happiness.

His family picture was coming true.

"Good morning," Minho said with a smile.

Jiwoo launched himself forward and hugged him.

"You're still here!"

"I came down for breakfast."

The little boy narrowed his eyes.

"Only breakfast?"

Minho laughed nervously.

"Yes."

"What a waste."

Taehyun nearly choked on his coffee.

After breakfast, Minho prepared to leave.

Jiwoo followed him all the way to the front door.

His tiny shoulders slumped.

"You have to go?"

"I have work."

"You always have work."

Minho gently poked his forehead.

"And so do you. You're a kindergarten student."

Jiwoo sighed.

Life was unfair.

Then an idea suddenly appeared.

The kind of idea that only a five-year-old genius matchmaker could invent.

"Teacher Lee."

"Yes?"

"Sports Day is next month."

Minho nodded.

"It is."

"Parents have to come."

"They do."

Jiwoo looked directly at Taehyun.

Then back at Minho.

Then at Taehyun again.

A mischievous smile spread across his face.

"We should be on the same team."

Both adults immediately sensed danger.

"Jiwoo—"

"Family teams are stronger."

"Jiwoo."

"And we're basically family already."

"JIWOO."

The little boy laughed and ran away before either adult could catch him.

Minho covered his face.

Taehyun closed his eyes.

Why was a five-year-old so difficult to handle?

As Minho stepped outside, Taehyun walked him to the gate.

For a few moments, neither spoke.

The comfortable silence felt surprisingly natural.

Then Taehyun said quietly,

"Thank you for staying last night."

Minho smiled.

"It was nothing."

"It wasn't."

Their eyes met.

The morning sunlight reflected softly in Taehyun's dark eyes.

For the first time, Minho noticed how handsome he really was when he wasn't wearing his usual cold expression.

And for the first time, Taehyun noticed how beautiful Minho's smile looked when it was directed only at him.

Both looked away at the same time.

From the second-floor window...

Jiwoo watched everything through binoculars.

The little boy nodded seriously.

"Progress."

Then he opened a notebook.

Written across the cover were the words:

Operation Daddy's Husband

Below it, he proudly added a gold star.
