CHAPTER 4: A DECISION THAT CHANGED EVERYTHING

...Seo Group....

The elevator doors opened.

Click.

Seo Yuna stepped out.

Her white shirt sleeves were neatly folded up to her elbows.

The office employees immediately stood up.

"Good morning, Director Seo."

"Good morning, Director Seo."

Yuna simply nodded.

"Good morning."

Her voice was calm.

Professional.

Composed.

Completely different from the playful version her family knew.

She walked toward her office while checking documents on her tablet.

At that exact moment—

Her phone vibrated.

A message popped up.

From: Seo Jihoon

Grandma won again.

I agreed to meet her friend's granddaughter.

Yuna stopped walking for a second.

Then—

A small smile appeared on her lips.

Almost as if she had expected this from the very beginning.

She quickly typed a reply.

Congratulations, Bro. 😂

A few seconds later—

Her phone vibrated again.

This isn't something to congratulate me for.

Yuna smiled even more.

Then typed another message.

Too late.

You're officially one step closer to becoming a husband.

The reply came instantly.

Seo Yuna.

Stop making fun of me.

Yuna quietly laughed to herself.

Then she put her phone away.

But deep inside...

She was genuinely happy.

Because after months of seeing her brother emotionally distant...

This was the first time he had allowed himself to take even a tiny step forward.

Little did she know...

This small decision would eventually change her own life too.

---

Seo Mansion.

Tuesday Morning.

Warm sunlight filtered through the large dining room windows.

The breakfast table was already prepared.

Fresh coffee.

Toast.

Fruit.

And today's newspaper.

Seo Jihoon sat quietly at the table.

A black shirt covered by a light gray cardigan gave him a relaxed yet elegant appearance.

One hand held a cup of coffee.

The other casually scrolled through his tablet.

Just then—

Grandmother Seo walked inside.

She looked unusually happy today.

The moment she sat down, she called out to him.

"Jihoon."

Jihoon lifted his eyes from the tablet.

"Hmm?"

Grandmother Seo smiled.

"Keep tomorrow evening free."

Jihoon blinked once.

Then placed the coffee cup down.

"Why?"

Grandmother Seo answered calmly.

"I've already arranged your meeting with that girl."

"The restaurant."

"The time."

"Everything."

"I'll send you the address later."

Jihoon remained silent for a few seconds.

Then—

"Okay."

This time, it was Grandmother Seo's turn to be surprised.

Her eyes widened slightly.

"That's it?"

"You agreed so easily?"

Jihoon leaned back in his chair.

His expression remained calm.

"I already gave you my word."

"If I keep delaying it..."

"There's no point in agreeing in the first place."

Grandmother Seo's smile slowly grew wider.

But then Jihoon spoke again.

"Grandma."

"Hmm?"

"Don't expect too much."

"This is only a meeting."

"Nothing more."

Grandmother Seo smiled softly.

"That's alright."

"One meeting is enough."

Jihoon simply nodded.

Then picked up his coffee again.

Completely unaware—

That a single dinner appointment...

Was about to change the direction of several lives at once.

Because sometimes...

Life doesn't begin with love.

It begins with a simple meeting.

And fate quietly takes care of everything else.
