A different feeling

Weeks passed.

Gemini and Fourth spent more time together.

Studying.

Eating.

Talking.

Laughing.

One evening they sat on a quiet campus bench.

The sunset painted the sky orange.

Fourth looked at Gemini.

The senior was smiling at something silly.

And suddenly Fourth realized something.

His heart raced whenever Gemini was near.

His day felt brighter when Gemini texted him.

And his favorite moments always included Gemini.

"Oh no."

Gemini looked over.

"What happened?"

Fourth immediately shook his head.

"Nothing."

But inside, he knew.

This wasn't admiration anymore.

This wasn't friendship anymore.

Fourth was falling for Gemini.

And he had absolutely no idea what to do next.Fourth spent the entire weekend avoiding Gemini.

Unfortunately, Gemini noticed immediately.

On Monday morning, Gemini appeared beside him in the cafeteria.

"Why are you hiding from me?"

"I'm not."

"You walked away three times."

"Coincidence."

Gemini raised an eyebrow.

"Three times?"

Fourth nodded.

"Very unlucky coincidence."

Gemini laughed.

The sound made Fourth's heart flutter again.

This was exactly why he was avoiding him.

Every smile, every laugh, every small interaction made his feelings stronger.

Gemini leaned closer.

"Did I do something wrong?"

For a moment, Fourth almost told him the truth.

Instead, he shook his head.

"No."

Gemini looked unconvinced.

But he didn't push further.

As Gemini walked away, Fourth sighed.

Avoiding him was impossible.

Especially when Gemini kept finding him everywhere.Their professor announced a semester project.

Students were assigned partners randomly.

Fourth prayed for anyone except Gemini.

The professor smiled.

"Fourth and Gemini."

The classroom exploded with excitement.

Fourth buried his face in his desk.

Gemini looked delighted.

"Looks like we're partners."

"This is a disaster."

"No," Gemini said. "It's destiny."

Fourth nearly fell out of his chair.

The project required weekly meetings.

Unfortunately, Gemini insisted on meeting at cafés.

"Why?"

"Because studying is less painful with snacks."

Fourth couldn't argue with that logic.

By the end of their first session, they had completed only half a page.

The rest of the time had been spent arguing about desserts.

Their project might fail.

But at least they were having fun. That night, Gemini sat in his dorm room.

His best friend watched him carefully.

"You like him."

Gemini immediately denied it.

"I don't."

"You smile every time his name appears."

"No, I don't."

At that exact moment, Fourth sent a message.

Gemini smiled.

His friend pointed dramatically.

"Exhibit A."

Gemini quickly stopped smiling.

Too late.

His friend laughed.

"You like him."

Gemini stared at Fourth's message.

It was simply:

Did you finish your part of the project?

Yet seeing it made him happy.

Maybe his friend was right.

Maybe something had changed.

Because lately, Fourth occupied his thoughts far more than any project ever could. The library was unusually crowded.

Every table was occupied.

Except one.

A tiny table meant for two people.

Fourth and Gemini squeezed into the seats.

Their shoulders constantly touched.

Fourth couldn't focus.

Not at all.

Meanwhile, Gemini seemed perfectly calm.

Or at least he pretended to.

As Fourth reached for a book, he accidentally bumped Gemini's hand.

Both froze.

For a second, neither moved.

Then Fourth quickly pulled away.

"S-sorry."

Gemini smiled softly.

"It's okay."

The atmosphere suddenly felt different.

Quieter.

Warmer.

Neither mentioned it.

But neither forgot it either.
