Ying Yue stood at the entrance of the archive section and stared at the endless rows of bookshelves.
The area was much quieter than the rest of the library.
Dust floated through the air, illuminated by the faint sunlight filtering through the old windows.
For some reason, the atmosphere felt strange.
Almost as if she had stepped into another world.
Taking a deep breath, Ying Yue began searching.
Shelf after shelf.
Row after row.
Ancient history.
Mythology.
Folklore.
Old records.
Hours passed.
Yet there was no sign of The Crimson Moon Record.
Ying Yue let out a tired sigh.
"This is impossible."
She glanced at her phone.
Nearly three hours had passed.
Her legs were beginning to ache from walking.
Just as she was about to give up, something caught her attention.
At the far end of the archive room stood a narrow staircase.
It looked older than everything around it.
Almost hidden behind several large shelves.
Frowning, Ying Yue slowly walked toward it.
"Was that always there?"
Curiosity got the better of her.
Without thinking, she climbed the stairs.
The higher she went, the quieter everything became.
Soon, she reached a small room.
Unlike the rest of the library, this room contained only a few shelves.
The books were covered in thick layers of dust.
It was obvious that nobody had entered this place for years.
As Ying Yue looked around, a strange feeling suddenly washed over her.
Her heart began beating faster.
For some reason, this place felt familiar.
As if she had been here before.
"No way..."
She shook her head.
That was impossible.
This was her first time visiting the library.
Yet the feeling refused to disappear.
Slowly, she walked deeper into the room.
Then she noticed something unusual.
A strange symbol was carved into one of the shelves.
A crescent moon surrounded by unfamiliar markings.
The moment Ying Yue saw it, her body froze.
Images flashed through her mind.
A blood-red moon.
A mountain peak.
A cold wind.
And a distant voice calling a name.
"Xia Xia..."
Ying Yue grabbed her head.
The vision vanished as quickly as it had appeared.
"What was that?"
Her breathing became uneven.
Before she could think further, a sudden sound echoed through the room.
Thud.
A book had fallen from one of the shelves.
Ying Yue jumped in surprise.
The room had been completely still.
There was no reason for a book to fall on its own.
Slowly, she approached it.
The old cover was dark red and worn with age.
Dust covered every corner.
Her hands trembled slightly as she picked it up.
Then she saw the title.
The Crimson Moon Record.
Ying Yue's eyes widened.
"Found you..."
A strange warmth spread through her chest.
It felt as if the book had been waiting for her.
Taking a deep breath, she carefully opened the first page.
The paper was yellowed with age.
Only a single sentence had been written there.
"If you are reading this, then I have already forgotten everything."
Ying Yue's heart skipped a beat.
Forgotten everything?
What did that mean?
Confused, she looked toward the bottom of the page.
There was a signature.
A familiar name.
A name she had seen countless times in her dreams.
Lu Xia Xia.
The color drained from Ying Yue's face.
Her fingers tightened around the page.
For a moment, the entire world seemed to stop.
"Why..."
Her voice trembled.
"Why does this name keep appearing everywhere?"
Outside the window, dark clouds slowly covered the sky.
A cold wind swept through the room.
And for the first time, Ying Yue felt that the answers she had been searching for were finally within reach.
Unfortunately, she had no idea that opening this book would awaken secrets that had remained buried for years.
Secrets connected to her dreams.
To Junjie.
And to a past she had long forgotten.
