Taehyung and Jungkook entered the Bighit gym.
It was recess, so luckily no one was practicing basketball; his teammates preferred to eat lunch at that time. He was quite surprised to see three girls playing basketball.
Both boys sat quietly in the stands, not wanting to interrupt; the girls looked extremely happy.
"Did you at least say something to Hoseok?" Jungkook asked.
They had been talking about what happened last week, when Taehyung and Hoseok had met in the infirmary. Taehyung hadn't returned to Big Hit since that day.
"Do you think I can think of anything good while dying of fever?" Taehyung rolled his eyes.
"You were supposed to confess this year!" Jungkook exclaimed. "You've been in love with that kid since the first time you saw him at Big Hit! Taehyung, you can make anyone fall in love with you!"
"He's not just anyone!" Taehyung leaned back on the bench. "Like you said, he's the guy I've been in love with since my second year of high school... it's all so complicated..."
The first time Taehyung had seen Hoseok was during the assembly on the first day of his second year of high school. The younger boy was a freshman, one of the new students, and he was standing next to a girl and a boy. The younger boy had been fidgeting nervously, and the moment the girl said something to him, he smiled—the most beautiful smile Taehyung had ever seen.
"It's our last year, Tae," Jungkook pointed out. "If you don't do it now, when will you?"
"Maybe when you confess your feelings to your neighbor." Taehyung puffed out his cheeks in annoyance. Maybe Jungkook was right, maybe.
"That's another matter." Jungkook looked away. "And I already did it." He muttered the last part to himself, but Taehyung managed to hear him.
"Are you serious?" Taehyung smiled, grabbed his best friend's shirt, and started rocking him back and forth. "Why didn't you tell me? What did he say?"
"Because you're too loud." Jungkook hit Taehyung's hand to make him let go.
"Ah, but who's talking!" Taehyung let go of his friend. "Come on, tell me what he said."
That both best friends were in love with those other best friends was a coincidence. Jungkook had been in love with his neighbor since he was nine years old; Taehyung knew that, but when he had first seen Hoseok and the boy next to him, he hadn't known that he was Jungkook's famous neighbor, Min Yoongi.
"She told me she did want to go out with me." Jungkook puffed out his cheeks. "But that I shouldn't tell anyone for now... she said she had some problems to sort out first..."
"What problems?" Taehyung asked.
"Mmh..." Jungkook thought for a moment about whether he should tell his best friend the truth... although he didn't really know much about the "truth." Yoongi had only told him it was something related to the crafts club. "I don't know, he didn't tell me, he just said that I would find out in due time."
"So you officially have a boyfriend." Taehyung smiled and nudged Jungkook. "Congratulations."
"Don't tell anyone." Jungkook narrowed his eyes. "Yoongi forbade me from telling you, too."
Taehyung was going to confront Jungkook, but the laughter of the girls playing basketball caught his attention.
"Are they from the basketball club?" Taehyung asked.
It was the first time the three of them had seen her play, and they played very well. With a little practice, they could easily beat the club captain.
ㅡNo...ㅡJungkook responded.ㅡAren't they from the craft club?
The dark-haired man turned his gaze back to the girls; to tell the truth, yes, they were the girls who had arrived at Hoseok's the other day.
"It's them," he murmured. "They arrived the other day when I was with Hoseok leaving the infirmary."
"I think they'd be better off in the basketball club, don't you think?" Jungkook asked.
Before Taehyung could answer, someone sat down next to them. They both looked at that person.
"What a stress," she murmured.
"Good morning to you too, Namjoon," Jungkook murmured.
"We saw each other in class." Namjoon settled back on the bench. "Stop being ridiculous."
"And Jin?" Taehyung asked.
"I don't know." Namjoon shrugged.
Taehyung narrowed his eyes; there were days when he wanted to punch Namjoon... sometimes he could be such an idiot.
"He's your best friend!" Jungkook exclaimed. "You must know where he is."
Namjoon and Seokjin were part of the popular group at Bighit, handsome and intelligent guys... well, at least Jin was.
"He must be around here somewhere." Namjoon sounded irritated. "Now that he's in that stupid crafts club, he's always busy."
Yes, Taehyung wanted to hit him...
"If he's in that 'stupid' crafts club, it's your fault. Don't you remember?" Jungkook rolled his eyes.
Namjoon tensed and looked away, stupid kids reminding him of his damn mistake. He glanced at the girls playing basketball, a smile spreading across his face.
—Aren't those from the club you like, Taehyung?
