Chapter 3 The First Lesson

Five years passed in the blink of an eye.

The once tiny angel had grown into a beautiful young boy.

Wei Ying's golden hair had become longer and brighter, shining like liquid sunlight whenever it caught the light. His sapphire-blue eyes sparkled with curiosity and innocence, making him one of the most admired young angels in Heaven.

Everywhere he went, divine energy naturally gathered around him.

Many gods and angels believed that he would become one of Heaven's greatest protectors in the future.

However, Wei Ying himself wasn't thinking about becoming a hero.

At that moment, he was busy running away from Momo.

"Young Master! Stop running!"

Momo chased after him across the palace garden.

Wei Ying laughed.

"No!"

"You promised to practice your lessons today!"

"I'll do it tomorrow!"

"You said that yesterday!"

The fluffy white cat jumped onto his shoulder.

"Your master is coming today!"

Wei Ying immediately froze.

"My master?"

Before Momo could answer, a powerful divine aura suddenly filled the entire palace.

Golden light descended from the sky.

The flowers began to glow.

The air itself seemed to tremble.

Wei Ying looked upward.

A familiar figure slowly appeared from within the golden light.

The Divine Master.

The same god who had blessed him at birth.

Every angel nearby immediately bowed.

Wei Ying quickly followed.

"Greetings, Divine Master."

The Divine Master smiled.

When he looked at Wei Ying, satisfaction appeared in his eyes.

The child had grown exactly as he expected.

His divine powers were becoming stronger every year.

"Wei Ying."

"Yes, Master?"

"Today marks your fifth year."

Wei Ying nodded.

The Divine Master continued.

"As promised to your mother, I have come to begin your training."

For a moment, Wei Ying became nervous.

His mother had told him many stories about training.

Most of them sounded difficult.

The Divine Master seemed to notice his expression.

"Are you afraid?"

Wei Ying immediately shook his head.

"No!"

The answer came so quickly that even Momo laughed.

The Divine Master smiled.

"Good."

His mother stepped forward.

"Divine Master, please take care of my son."

"You have my word."

The Divine Master gently placed his hand on Wei Ying's head.

A warm golden light surrounded them.

"Wei Ying."

"Yes?"

"From today onward, you will learn how to control your divine powers."

Wei Ying blinked.

"Control them?"

The Divine Master nodded.

"You possess an enormous amount of divine energy."

He looked serious.

"If left unchecked, that power could become dangerous."

Wei Ying listened carefully.

This was the first time anyone had spoken to him about the responsibility that came with his abilities.

The Divine Master continued.

"Power exists to protect others."

He pointed toward the sky.

"A true angel does not use power for pride."

Then he pointed toward Wei Ying's heart.

"A true angel uses power to protect life."

Those words remained in Wei Ying's mind.

Protect life.

Protect others.

For some reason, the idea felt important.

Very important.

"Can I become strong enough to protect everyone?" Wei Ying asked.

The Divine Master smiled.

"If you work hard."

Wei Ying's eyes lit up.

"I'll do my best!"

The Divine Master laughed softly.

"Good answer."

The training began immediately.

For the next several hours, Wei Ying learned basic control techniques.

At first, it was difficult.

Whenever he tried to gather divine energy, too much power appeared.

The ground cracked.

Trees shook.

Flowers exploded into glowing petals.

Momo nearly got blown away several times.

"Young Master!"

"I'm sorry!"

"Stop apologizing and focus!"

By sunset, Wei Ying was exhausted.

His clothes were dirty.

His hair was messy.

And he had fallen more times than he could count.

Yet despite everything, he couldn't stop smiling.

Learning new things was exciting.

The Divine Master watched from nearby.

Most children would have complained.

Most would have given up.

Wei Ying never did.

Every time he failed, he simply stood up and tried again.

The Divine Master silently nodded.

Perhaps the prophecy had been correct.

Perhaps this child truly was special.

As darkness slowly covered the heavenly sky, the lesson finally ended.

Wei Ying sat on the grass, breathing heavily.

"I've never been this tired before."

Momo jumped into his lap.

"You survived."

"Barely."

The cat laughed.

For a while, the two watched the stars appear above Heaven.

Neither of them noticed the Divine Master's expression.

For just a brief moment, concern appeared in his eyes.

Because hidden within the ancient records of Heaven was a prophecy.

A prophecy connected to Wei Ying.

A prophecy connected to a certain Demon King.

And one day...

The paths of Heaven and Hell would cross.

When that day arrived, Wei Ying's training would determine the fate of both worlds.

To be continued...
