The Broken Algorithm

The Broken Algorithm

Chapter 1: The Glitch in His World

In a cozy, dimly lit room in the heart of Patna, Kabir stared intently at his laptop screen. The soft hum of his computer fan was the only sound breaking the silence of the night. For months, he had been working tirelessly on a revolutionary matchmaking application. Unlike ordinary dating apps that relied on superficial swipes, Kabir’s project, The Perfect Equation, relied on a highly sophisticated algorithm. It was designed to find true love by analyzing deep behavioral logic, psychological patterns, and core values. Kabir genuinely believed that everything in life, even human destiny, could be decoded with the right variables.

But tonight, the moment he launched the final live beta test, his screen flickered violently. A massive, unexpected system error overrode the terminal, causing the entire server to freeze instantly.

Panicking, Kabir’s fingers flew across the mechanical keyboard, tracing the source of the sudden crash. He initially thought it was a coding bug, but the reality was far more shocking. The algorithm hadn't failed because of a mistake; it had crashed because it collided with a user profile so complex and rigid that the system deemed a match mathematically "impossible."

Suddenly, a sleek, premium corporate profile popped up on his screen, bypassing his security filters. It displayed a name that made Kabir's heart skip a beat: Aarav Singhania.

Aarav Singhania was the ruthless, cold-hearted CEO of Singhania TechCorp, the country's largest and most powerful tech empire. At just twenty-seven years old, he was a billionaire tycoon known for his sharp mind, sharp suits, and completely emotionless demeanor. People in the business world often rumored that he didn't have a heart at all—only a highly calculated machine running inside him. He belonged to a lavish world of luxury penthouses, private jets, and high society, a universe miles apart from Kabir's simple, middle-class life.

According to Kabir's algorithm, Aarav's emotional compatibility score with the rest of the world was an absolute zero. The code simply broke trying to find him a match.

"I don't care how powerful or rich of a CEO you are," Kabir muttered, a sudden spark of stubborn determination lighting up his eyes. "No one calls my code a failure."

Refusing to back down, Kabir quickly wrote a custom bypass script. With a sharp hit to the enter key, he forcefully overrode the system block, sending a direct network ping straight to Aarav's highly classified personal server to force the algorithm to re-evaluate.

He had absolute no idea that his small act of defiance had just triggered a high-level silent security alarm in the top-floor penthouse office of Singhania TechCorp.

Less than two minutes later, Kabir’s phone buzzed aggressively on the wooden desk. The screen flashed with an unknown, private international number. Taking a hesitant, nervous breath, he swiped the screen to answer and placed the phone to his ear.

"Who gave you the authority to breach my personal server?" a deep, icy voice demanded through the line. The tone was incredibly sharp, commanding, and dangerous. It carried the natural authority of a man who was used to owning everything he looked at.

Kabir froze, his breath catching completely in his throat. His heart began to hammer against his ribs. It was him. CEO Aarav Singhania himself was on the phone.

Clutching the phone tighter, Kabir tried to keep his voice steady. "I—I didn't mean to breach your server. Your profile crashed my application's matchmaking system. I was just fixing my algorithm."

A cold, mocking chuckle came from the other end of the line, sending a shiver down Kabir's spine. "An algorithm? You risked a federal cyber-security lawsuit for a mere app? Listen to me carefully, stranger. I don't believe in matches, and I certainly don't believe in love. Delete my data within the next ten minutes, or my legal team will ensure your entire future is erased."

Before Kabir could utter another word, the call disconnected with a sharp beep.

Kabir slowly lowered his phone, staring blankly at the screen. He was terrified, but beneath the fear, a strange wave of anger washed over him. Aarav Singhania thought he could control everything with his money and power. Two completely different worlds had just collided through a single broken algorithm, and Kabir knew there was no turning back now. The game had just begun.
