4. CRACKING THE ICE

The atmosphere inside the executive conference room was suffocating. The large glass table was littered with revised financial contracts, but nobody was looking at the paperwork. Jungkook sat at the head of the table, his physical presence completely dominating the space. He had rolled up the sleeves of his black dress shirt, exposing his forearms and putting his full right-arm sleeve on display. The dark, intricate ink crawled up his skin, wrapping all the way down to cover his right hand. His dark eyes were locked onto Taehyung with an unyielding, predatory focus.

"The European shipping lanes belong to us, Kim," Jungkook said, tapping his tattooed knuckles against the glass table. His voice dropped into a deep, commanding register that sent an unbidden shiver straight down Taehyung’s spine.

"Your family’s legacy can't buy out a distribution network that my father and I already secure with physical force. You sign the joint-venture clause today, or I freeze your cargo in Rotterdam by midnight."

Taehyung gripped his fountain pen tightly under the table, his knuckles turning white. He refused to let Jungkook see how much that raw, masculine authority—and the sight of those dark tattoos shifting against flexing muscle—was actually rattling his composure. He tilted his head, forcing a cold, aristocratic smirk onto his face. "You’re bluffing, Jeon. Dad and Mom have political ties in the Netherlands that your little conglomerate couldn’t touch in a decade. You don't dictate terms to me."

Jungkook leaned forward, invading Taehyung's personal space entirely. The sheer weight of his presence made the air feel thin. "Try me," Jungkook murmured, his tone smooth, dangerous, and completely in control. "See if those ties can move a single ship when my men lock down the docks. You are in my territory now, sweetheart. Act like it."

Across the table, Jimin’s jaw dropped slightly at the sheer audacity of the threat, his hand instinctively moving toward his tablet to check the live logistics data. He glanced sharply at Yoongi, expecting the older man to pull his partner back.

Instead, Yoongi was leaning back in his leather chair, looking entirely unbothered, his dark eyes fixed intently on Jimin’s stressed expression. "Don't bother checking the feeds, Park," Yoongi said lazily, his low, gravelly voice cutting through Jimin’s panic. "If Jungkook says the docks are locked, they’re locked. Your boss should learn when to stop talking."

Jimin spun his head toward Yoongi, his eyes blazing with fierce, protective anger. "This is illegal sabotage, Min! We can ruin your company's public relations narrative before sunset. Uncle won't hesitate to pull the strings."

Yoongi let out a soft, amused chuckle, leaning in just enough to anchor Jimin's frantic energy. "Then tell your Uncle to start dialing, because we aren't backing down. And honestly? You look a lot prettier when you aren't glaring at me."

Jimin’s breath hitched, a furious blush rushing to his cheeks as he slammed his folder shut.

Taehyung stared back at Jungkook, his breathing shallow as he realized he was completely cornered by the younger man's overwhelming dominance. The corporate chess game had just escalated into a dangerous standoff.
