My Clingy Husband

My Clingy Husband

Saving the damsel

“You’re saying they broke up?”

A man’s deep voice rang out In the quiet office.

His facial features were very beautiful, and his handsome face exuded a confident and calm temperament.

The voice on the other end of the office responded “Yes,20 minutes ago and miss is currently at a bar”

The man moved briskly to the door “prepare the car we’re going to the bar”

“But sir what about the 30 billion dollars acquisition………..”

“Cancel it.”Rakeem’s voice held no traces of hesitation.”There will be countless opportunities to make money, but I can’t miss this chance Heaven has given me.”

For eight years,he had been a patient hunter waiting for its prey, waiting for this perfect moment.

In the bar somewhere in country A,The bass was still thudding in Ayesha’s chest when she pushed through the club door. Air hit her face, cold and sharp. Too cold. She’d lost count of the drinks somewhere around midnight. Now the streetlights were smearing and her legs felt like borrowed ones.

“Hey pretty you look lost “

A hand on her waist, too tight. The man’s smile didn’t reach his eyes. “Let me help you find your way.”

The voice came too close, too fast. A man stepped into her path, blocking the sidewalk.

“I’m fine,” Ayesha said. She tried to step around him. The world lopsided.

“You don’t look fine.” His hand closed around her upper arm. Not hard, but firm enough that she stopped walking. “Let me walk you home. Can’t have a pretty girl out here alone.”

She pulled back. “Let go. I said I’m fine.”

Her words came out slurred. That made it worse. People passed on the other side of the street, eyes down, moving fast.

His grip tightened. “Don’t be dramatic. I’m helping you.”

Ayesha’s stomach dropped. She opened her mouth to shout, but nothing came out, cold air hit her face.

“Problem here?”

The voice cut through everything. Low. Steady. No hesitation.

Ayesha looked up. A stranger. Suit damp from rain, eyes locked on the man’s hand around her waist. He wasn’t big or loud. But the way he stood said he wasn’t asking twice.

The man muttered something and disappeared down the block. Ayesha exhaled like she’d been holding her breath for an hour.

“You okay ?”The stranger didn’t touch her. He just set his coat over her.“Want me to walk you to a cab, or call someone for you?”he asked quietly.

Ayesha exhaled. Her hands were shaking. She nodded, because words weren’t working yet.

“What’s your address? I’ll get you home.”

Ayesha tried to focus. Tried to form words. Instead her stomach flipped.

“Oh no—”

It happened fast. No warning. She doubled over and vomited all over his shoes, his pants the sleeve of his shirt he’d used to steady her.

Silence. Then the car honked.

Ayesha wanted the ground to swallow her. “I’m so sorry. Oh God. That’s disgusting. I’m so sorry.” She was crying and laughing and mortified all at once.

The guy looked down at his ruined suit. Then at her face, which was now pale and damp and wrecked with shame. He didn’t flinch. Didn’t pull away.

“Hey,” he said quietly. He shrugged the shirt off and dropped it in a nearby trash can. “Shirt’s replaceable. You’re not. Breathe.”

He wiped her mouth with a napkin from his pocket like it was nothing.

Adam had only followed his boss to the bar because he was worried about him when he cancel the acquisition in a rush.He didn’t expect to end up on the road at 12:40 AM, watching his boss watch a stranger.

He was shocked because this is the first time he’s taking care of someone after his parent death five years ago.

“Open the door “Rakeem low magnetic voice brought him out of his trance.

“The floor’s wet. Don’t move yet.”

The woman blinked at him, confused. Adam was dumbfounded. This was the same man who ended phone calls mid-sentence if someone wasted his time. Who crossed conference rooms like he owned the air in them. Now he looked… careful. Almost hesitant.

Adam stood frozen with his mouth agape. He’d spent three years typing Mr.Rakeem’s emails, scheduling his meetings, watching him cut through people without blinking. He’d never seen him move like he was afraid of breaking something fragile.

“I’ll drive you can go home.”This is the third time Adam was shocked tonight ,is this still the same Mr Rakeem whom he know ??

After settling Ayesha in the car he key in the address she gave him .

“He played me that cruel bastard”her word sounds like a murmur but Rakeem heard it.Rakeem’s hands tightened on the wheel. Every part of him wanted to comfort her.

She crawled to the passenger sit and gave Rakeem a kiss on his lips, he was shocked and surprised. At that moment Ayesha’s gaze was unfocused, her face flushed.
