Effortlessly Loving You
It was 10 a.m., Sunwoo had just woken up, a bit late, yes. He slept quite late last night; Sunwoo checked the time and instantly ran to the bathroom, he took a quick shower and got dressed as fast as he could, it was 10:15 by then. He combed his hair, wore a plain white shirt with dark brown suit pants, he put on his best perfume, put on some rings and a few silver bracelets before finally breathing a sigh of relief.
But, oh, too bad, he had to leave quickly to reach on time. So he ran to his front door mid "breath of relief" and put on black platform shoes, with, of course, black socks. He got on his bike and zoomed past his house; the time ticked by, 10:29, 10:30, 10:31...
He finally arrived at the café, he quickly entered and scanned the room, finding that handsome bastard he met online 2 weeks ago, Lee Seojoon, sitting in a booth at the very back, looking bored. Sunwoo hurried to him immediately, his eyes grazing over the dark red hair, brown eyes and sharp jawline...
"H-Hey, sorry I'm late..." Sunwoo called out, Seojoon's head snapped up. His bored expression immediately became happier, "Oh, no worries. I wasn't here long, I myself came about 5 minutes ago." he said as he stood up and leaned in for a hug, Sunwoo blushed a little, but he hugged him back. Seojoon was dressed in a red shirt, matching his hair, and dark gray baggy jeans, almost matching his necklace, which was a black cross.
"So," Seojoon started, "how are you?" he asked, his voice as smooth, as husky and as ever. "I'm doing great, you?" Sunwoo answered promptly, acting confident, though the slight tremor in his voice betrayed him; he was nervous around this handsome man. He felt that his own features, his plain black hair, weird electric blue eyes, common eye shape and face shape, all fell inferior to Seojoon's looks.
"Mm, I'm doing awesome too, more so on this date. Thanks for setting aside your busy schedule for me, Sunwoo." Seojoon stated, Sunwoo blushed slightly and smiled, he had told Seojoon that he was a busy contractor, and Seojoon believed it. "It's nothing, really." Sunwoo replied, it was nothing, because he had no assignment, he was free for the time being. The date resumed, it was going just perfect, they talked about their jobs, where Seojoon mentioned that he was a freelance contractor.
"Oh, wow, small world." Sunwoo said, though he was a bit suspicious; not many people are contractors, forget freelance contracting. Seojoon made an agreeing sound and continued their conversation about their interests, likes, dislikes and all. It was going well, Sunwoo was enjoying the date, enjoying his black coffee too, when his phone buzzed, he apologized for the interruption and just gestured for Seojoon to keep talking.
A few minutes passed, the buzzing sound emerged again, "I'm so sorry about this-" "It's my phone this time, Sunwoo." Seojoon interjected, following it with a chuckle. "Oh, I guess we both got clients at the same time, huh?" Sunwoo replied, also snickering, "Say, since we both have messages from work, let's just check them. Only 5 minutes?" he asked. "Sure, good call." Seojoon acknowledged; right on cue, they both picked up their phones and went through their messages.
Suddenly, Sunwoo's eyes widened, his assignment was... "Lee Seojoon ; 29 years old ; Occupation : Hitman" and to top it all off, there was a photo attached, like on every other assignment; Sunwoo, though hesitantly clicked the photo.
Sunwoo looked at Seojoon, then he looked back at his phone; Seojoon was also frozen, but he didn't show any shift in expression. The truth is, as you have seen above, Seojoon is also a Hitman, and Seojoon had also gotten a message for Sunwoo. "Choi Sunwoo ; 26 years old ; Occupation : Hitman" and like Sunwoo's message, there was a photo attached beneath it too, Seojoon didn't feel any reluctance as he tapped the picture, the picture loaded, and he gazed at it fondly.
"An-Anyways..." Sunwoo muttered, "Right, yeah." Seojoon responded, clearing his throat; they both knew, but it was a question of who was going to mention it first. "So, uhm... What about your family, are you a single child?" Seojoon spoke up first, "... Single child, my mom fell ill right after I was born and died soon after. My father took care of me and..." he trailed off, bracing himself, he started again: "You're not really a contractor, right?"
A dreadful silence gripped the date, the once lively and funny time was now a suspenseful, yet expectant, quietness. It felt like an eternity, the pause Seojoon took to answer. "No, I'm not." He finally answered, Sunwoo nodded in acceptance, he hung his head, "And this was going... So, so well..." he whispered right before punching him clean in the jaw, immediately knocking him out. It pained Sunwoo too, he actually really liked Seojoon, believe it or not.
Seojoon slumped onto the table, spilling the latte everywhere, Sunwoo acted surprised, he got up and called one of the staff members. The cleaner guy, a lanky teenager, was surprised and kind of scared at the sight, Sunwoo explained how Seojoon had narcolepsy. The guy made an "oh" sound and assisted Sunwoo in helping Seojoon out of his seat, Sunwoo tipped the guy, paid the bill and left with Seojoon leaning on him heavily; Sunwoo sneakily extracted Seojoon's car keys from his wallet and unlocked the car.
He sat Seojoon down into the back seat and drove to his own apartment; he dragged Seojoon from the back exit and to the elevator, he pressed the button to his floor, 5, and waited. The elevator music was calming, the very opposite to Sunwoo's heart's rhythm: a trapped and frantic bird.
