Chapter 2- An unconscious girl

Hades arrived home in a foul mood. His meeting with the Dawsons had gone worse than expected, and the frustration was still fresh in his mind.

After ordering his men to unload the drugs from the car trunks, he headed toward the house.

Just as he reached the entrance, a few of his men dragged a badly beaten man into the driveway and dropped him in front of Hades.

Hades stopped in his tracks.

The man looked like he'd been through hell. His face was swollen, his clothes were stained with blood, and he could barely hold himself up.

A frown settled on Hades's face as he looked down at him.

" This piece of shit was spying on us and feeding information to the police. That’s why we were getting ambushed every time we tried to move drugs across the border," one of Hades’s men said.

Hades didn’t react. Not a flicker, not a change in his expression. He stood there in a silence that felt heavier than anger.

He wasn’t the kind of man who shouted or lost control. He never needed to.

It was his calmness that made people uneasy—the kind of calm that didn’t promise mercy.

" What type of punishment should I give you, Asher?" Hades asked the wounded man.

Hades’s men gasped in shock. How did he know this man? They had only just caught him—yet it meant Hades had known, from the very beginning, that someone had been betraying him.

Asher coughed up blood. "Kill me," he begged. " If I go back to the police, they will torture me for being caught. And you… you won’t show mercy either. I would rather die."

" Death is so boring," Hades chuckled softly, circling him like a predator savoring patience. " Too quick. Too clean. Not nearly enough to be called punishment," he said, his voice drifting through the air as he walked around Asher.

Hades clapped his hands, and another group of his men dragged a young woman into the center of the gathering. She clutched a child tightly in her arms, sobbing uncontrollably, her cries breaking through the tense silence.

“Julia,” Asher gasped, his eyes flying to Hades, terror written across his face.

He fell into pleading, his voice shaking. “Please… do whatever you want to me, but let my wife and daughter go.”

Hades smiled coldly, a cruel amusement in his gaze. “Of course. I will do whatever I want,” he said softly. “Not to you—but to your wife and daughter. And you… you will watch them suffer. That will be your punishment.”

Hades was notorious for his sadism. He always struck at his victims weakest points, as if he could sense exactly where it hurt the most. He took pleasure in toying with minds, bending fear like a blade in his hands. And above all, he savored the sight of people breaking before him—begging, pleading, stripped of pride as they asked him for mercy.

Slipping one of his hands inside the pocket he said," Your wife will be thrown into one of the brothels."

" And, your daughter," Hades paused. " My dogs are starving. So....." Hades couldn’t finish his words. Asher and his wife screamed with absolute horror.

Hades's men didn’t let Asher plead anything further. They were dragged away in front of Hades's eyes. Sparing a boring glare Hades entered the house.

Hades reached his father's room. He found his father in front of the window. Sitting on the wheelchair he was staring outside. His father is Diego Rodriguez. Another psychotic man. Hades's mother was killed by Diego when she tried to run away. Hades helped his father into murdering his mother.

Sensing Hades's presence Diego said," Dawsons aren't trustworthy."

" I know that. But, except for their support, it's not possible to do business in that shitty city. That's their territory," Hades answered lighting a cigarette.

Diego suggested," Why didn't you approach Vladimir?"

" That arrogant old ass!" Hades grimaced. " I hate that old fucker."

Hades was discussing business with his father while his men searched through the cars. No one seemed to remember which vehicle the drugs had been stored in, and the confusion was starting to get on everyone's nerves.

With no other option, they began checking every car.

One of the men opened the trunk of Hades's car and immediately froze.

"What the fuck?"

His startled voice caught everyone's attention.

The others quickly gathered around the car. As soon as they looked inside the trunk, confusion spread across their faces.

A girl was sleeping there.

Curled up into a ball, she looked completely unaware of the commotion around her.

It was Irish.

"Who is she?" one of them asked.

Another shrugged. "How the hell should I know?"

"Maybe the boss kidnapped her."

The suggestion earned a few strange looks.

They were still trying to figure out who the girl was when Ivan stepped forward. Ivan was Hades's most trusted man.

"What's going on?"

The men moved aside to let him see.

Ivan frowned.

He didn't remember Hades kidnapping anyone. Last night, they had visited the Dawsons and headed straight back home afterward. There hadn't been any unexpected stops.

Then where had this girl come from?

She looked young, and judging by the dirt on her clothes, she had clearly been through something.

"The girl's pretty," one of the men commented with a grin. "Wouldn't mind having some fun with her."

Ivan shot him a cold glare.

"Shut your mouth."

The man instantly looked away.

"We need to tell the boss about her."

Hades was informed about the unconscious girl in the trunk of his car. At first, he hadn't been interested. But curiosity got the better of him.

Why would a girl hide in his car of all places?

As he approached, his gaze fell on the figure inside the trunk.

He couldn't see her face properly. Her hair was a tangled mess, covering most of it. What he did notice were the bruises.

Dark blue and purple marks covered her arms and legs. Some looked fresh, while others were already fading.

His brows drew together. Without thinking much about it, he reached out and gently brushed the hair away from her face.

The movement revealed delicate features that made him pause for a second.

She was beautiful. Not in an extravagant way. There was something soft and innocent about her face, something that didn't belong in a world filled with violence and bloodshed. Then his eyes dropped to her lips. They were bruised too.

A flicker of irritation settled in his chest. What had happened to her? Who was she?And how had she ended up sleeping in the trunk of his car? A wave of questions started to mess with his mind.
