Chapter 4: The Time Spent as “WE”

Next day, I woke up suddenly with a headache, I was under the covers of my bed, I looked around, in a sleepy manner since I just woke up. I wondered when did I came back to my house, I had fallen asleep there. Did he bring me back?!

I groaned to myself, thinking all the embarrassing things I must have said or did in front of him while I was asleep.

I tried to get out of my bed, explaining myself that I wouldn’t have done anything embarrassing, cuz if I had done it, he would have woken me up.

The day went by, I again went to the forest, saw him playing with the rabbits. I smiled softly and went towards him. I was astonished by how small and adorable the rabbits looked like.

I bent down and gently stroked a rabbit’s back. The rabbit yelped and ran away. I was taken a back by this sudden change from that soft scene to running.

Meanwhile, he rolled his eyes and suddenly put a carrot in my mouth and said: you really are a child, the rabbits, all got scared because of you.

I said quickly in defense: I didn’t knew they would run away! It’s not like I had a gun and was about to shoot them away!!

He chuckled and said: you will never understand a single point, will you?

I pouted and looked away.

He ruffled my hair and said: fine fine, it’s not your fault, it’s mine, I should have informed you first.

I nodded fast, and he laughs at my childish behavior.

I suddenly suggested: let’s go to town

He looked at me, surprised: what’s with the sudden town visit? Did something happen?

I shake my head: nothing happened, I just wanted to go out with you to the town, since you never went out of this forest. It will be a nice change for you from seeing this all day. You must be bored.

He smiles: thanks for worrying about me. Fine lets go.

I took his hand and we walked out and then went to the town.

I dragged him to a shop, as he just watches my excited behavior in the mall. We shop for a while, I was kinda surprised cuz wherever we went and bought something, he paid easily.

I give him a sign to kneel down for few minutes and without hesitation he listened to me and I asked: how can you pay? Are you a secret mafia boss?

He laughs: you and your thoughts, I have money. What did you thought? I was broke?

I said: well you basically spent half your life in the forest, so I thought you might be broke, but still what do you do?

He thought for a while and replied: I can do anything, from being a doctor to being a chef.

I was kinda surprised, looking at him as if he lost his senses.

He again said: it’s the truth, you wanna test me?

I nodded.

He smiled and afterwards when we were walking out the mall…..

A car was driven in a fast speed and it hit a woman, I gasped and he ran towards the scene and helped the woman and took her to the hospital.

I followed him to the hospital, holding the woman’s belongings from the road it fell from her hands.

I was surprised, people knew him. I was shocked to see he had a doctor degree. I was angry too that he lied to me at first but it was not the time to worry about that. I wait outside as he helped the woman and from god’s sake, the woman was alright.

I take out a sigh of relief when I heard it and then I looked towards him with my angry eyes and he just rubbed his neck nervously and chuckled softly, mouthing “I am sorry”.

I look away, still in angry mood but I was happy that the woman was alive.

He came to me and said: I am sorry ok? But you know I am not a real doctor.

I look at him with wide eyes and said: stop lying to me! You have a private office, a badge and people know you!! you must be a great person, that’s why you had that much money.

He smiled and said: they don’t know that I am not a real person but you know. Wanna see something?

I look at him, not replying but my expression says that go ahead and show me.

He takes a deep breath and showed me his left arm which had started to grow grass on the skin. I was shocked, how can a human grow grass on its skin.

I look at him, waiting for an answer and the whole truth this time. He looks at me and again took a deep breath and says…………………………………………
