The Truth dies in Julian heart

Until the night everything changed.

Queen Celeste was dying.

Her illness had worsened for months.

Now the once-beautiful queen looked fragile beneath layers of blankets.

The palace physicians had given up hope.

Everyone knew her final days had arrived.

Rain fell softly outside her chamber.

The scent of medicine filled the room.

Candles flickered against the walls.

That evening, Celeste summoned Martha.

Julian happened to be passing through the corridor.

He intended only to check on her.

But hearing voices inside, he paused.

Then he heard words that froze him in place.

"I don't have much time left."

Martha's voice trembled.

"Please, Your Majesty..."

"I committed a terrible crime."

Julian's heartbeat quickened.

Inside the room, Celeste stared weakly toward the rain-covered window.

"Fourteen years ago... I switched the princes."

Everything went silent.

The corridor.

The rain.

The world.

Julian felt his legs weaken beneath him.

His breath caught in his throat.

No...

No...

Inside the room, Celeste continued.

"I wanted my son to become king."

Tears streamed down her face.

"But now... perhaps this illness is the punishment for my sins."

Outside the door, Julian stood motionless.

His entire life suddenly made sense.

Queen Isabella was his mother.

Adrian was not the true prince.

He was.

The love he had desperately longed for his entire life had belonged to him all along.

A mother's embrace.

A father's pride.

A kingdom's affection.

All of it.

His.

Tears blurred his vision.

Without thinking, he turned and ran.

His footsteps echoed through the grand corridors.

He had to tell Queen Isabella.

He had to tell the king.

He had to tell Adrian.

The truth had to be known.

For the first time in fourteen years, hope filled his heart.

Maybe his mother would finally hold him.

Maybe someone would finally choose him.

Maybe he would finally stop feeling alone.

But as he approached Queen Isabella's chamber, he slowed.

The door stood slightly open.

Warm candlelight spilled into the corridor.

Then he heard her voice.

Soft.

Gentle.

Filled with love.

"Adrian..."

Julian stopped.

Inside the room, Queen Isabella sat beside Adrian.

Her fingers moved through his hair the way a mother comforts a child.

Adrian rested his head against her lap.

"Mother," he said quietly, "you are the best mother in the world. Please stay with me forever."

Isabella smiled.

Then she gently cupped his face.

"Of course I will. I will always be by your side."

"You are my one and only son."

She kissed his forehead lovingly.

"You are my son."

Outside the room, Julian felt something inside him break.

For years he had dreamed of hearing those words.

Just once.

You are my son.

But now he understood.

If the truth came out...

Adrian would lose everything.

His identity.

His family.

His mother.

And after Celeste's death, he would have no one left.

Only hatred.

Only loneliness.

The same loneliness Julian had endured his entire life.

A tear rolled down Julian's cheek.

Then another.

And another.

Slowly, he stepped away from the door.

Into the darkness of the corridor.

Into the silence that had always belonged to him.

His voice was barely a whisper.

"Brother..."

"You have done nothing wrong."

"You deserve the love I never had."

"Keep Mother."

"Keep the throne."

And for the first time in his life, the true crown prince chose to lose everything willingly.

Not because he was weak.

But because he loved his brother more than he loved himself.

The truth died inside his heart that night.

And no one would ever know.
