The Girl Who Lost Her Light

The Girl Who Lost Her Light

The first chapter-“who is that strange girl?”

The bell rings as I walk into class, this year is gonna be tough. Why would mum send me to school after….THAT happened…..I’m still afraid to wear short sleeves at this point but I’m finally allowed to have a pencil sharpener. Goodness me ….dont remind me of that. The chatter of students drifts down the hall until they burst into class like a pack of loud animals. There’s a group of girls and a group of bratty mean boys too. I open a book gently and read it. It’s a normal manga, about some girl who has a communication disorder.

The horrid sound of the teacher talking lulls me to sleep. The next second I’m getting slapped awake by my older brother telling me I slept through lunch and the teachers told him to wake me up, ”Ughhh” I groaned as my brother dragged me to my class. My fringe covers my eyes accidentally and I sigh and groan like I was forced to go to school. “Why can’t I be homeschooled like last year?…” I mumble

“the only reason you were homeschooled is because you had a incident” my brother replied. As he walked away to his class I clinged to him “why can’t we skip class together?….” I begged as he shook his head and reminded me that we are in different grades.

AFTER SCHOOL

As my brother helped me to our train, holding hands as usual there is a bunch of girls from his grade glaring at me as like if I was dating my brother, ew I thought. Who would date their sibling? Probably some weirdo who likes other stuff….. ugh and I rolled my eyes. Seems like my year is gonna be wild. As I sat next to my brother, he nudges me to show me the Sakura (cherry blossom) blooming outside

SAKURA

The Sakura blossoms fall and petals fly around, as I admire it From the train window. As the train

moves, I imagine the Sakuraa petals are blood coming from cuts. REI GET YOURSELF TOGETHER! I try to distract myself from the odd thought I just had. The train ride home was relaxing although a bit nerve wracking. I pick some daisies for my mom. On the walk home my brother is constantly nagging me about my classes, well I’m in year7 but I’m in year 8 or 9 English.

I was held back in year 5 and 6 but I was in year six English in year 4 so I was just repeating stuff I already knew and it was ridiculously easy. And I even asked my teacher why I repeated grades and they were confused, but it was just because I was extension. The next day in class was the usual, me in a different class for English, getting help for maths and so and so. The usual. I usually do full pages of paragraphs for a simple task. I’m usually the overexeeder so I don’t mind if people think I’m a teachers pet.
