Chapter 3: The Blueprint of Fate

While Taehyung was fleeing from his shadows, Kim Jimin was busy reclaiming his light.

He stood in the sleek, minimalist lobby of Cheonji Realty, located in the heart of Seoul’s ultra-modern Gangnam district. The walls were polished concrete, the furniture minimalist leather, and the air smelled of expensive espresso and high-end diffusers. It was a young, aggressive real estate startup that had taken the market by storm over the past year, completely independent of the major family conglomerates.

Jimin smoothed down the front of his cream-colored tailored trousers. He had paired it with a silk, slate-blue button-down shirt, the sleeves rolled up precisely to his forearms, exposing his delicate wrists and an expensive watch. He looked professional, but undeniably stunning. He carried a heavy leather portfolio under his arm, his fingers tapping against it with a confident rhythm.

"Kim Jimin-ssi? The CEO will see you now," a polite secretary announced, gesturing toward the frosted glass doors at the end of the hall.

Jimin offered a charming, sassy smile. "Thank you, sweetheart."

He walked in, his heels clicking sharply against the polished floor. The office was vast, with floor-to-ceiling windows showing a panoramic view of the city. Behind a massive black oak desk sat Min Yoongi.

The second son of the Jeon family—who went by his mother’s surname, Min, for his independent business—looked very different from the night before. He had dropped the formal suit jacket. He wore a loose-fitting black dress shirt with the sleeves pushed up, revealing pale skin and strong veins. A pair of silver-rimmed reading glasses sat on his nose, adding an intellectual, devastatingly attractive edge to his quiet alpha aura. His scent was soft, muted—like mint and old parchment paper.

Yoongi looked up as Jimin entered. He paused, his sharp eyes taking in the stunning omega from head to toe. For a moment, his professional mask slipped, a flicker of genuine appreciation crossing his face before he schooled his features back into a calm, unbothered expression. He took off his glasses.

"Kim Jimin-ssi," Yoongi said, his voice a low, raspy drawl that sent a strange, unexpected shiver down Jimin’s spine. "Sit."

Jimin sat down in the leather chair across from him, crossing his legs elegantly. He didn't look intimidated at all. Instead, he tilted his head, a playful, sassy smirk playing on his lips.

"Good morning, Min-ssi. Or should I call you Jeon-ssi?" Jimin teased, testing the boundaries immediately.

Yoongi’s brow arched. "Min is fine. This company has nothing to do with my father’s automotive empire. I build things from the ground up, Kim-ssi. I don't rely on family names."

"Good. Because I don't rely on my family name either," Jimin countered smoothly, sliding his portfolio across the desk. "I want this internship because Cheonji Realty is doing the most innovative structural layouts in the city, and I happen to be the best architecture student in my graduating class."

Yoongi pulled the portfolio toward him, opening it. He expected the usual, uninspired student designs—safe, traditional buildings. But as he turned the pages, his eyes widened slightly.

The blueprints were brilliant. They were bold, utilizing sustainable materials, sharp geometric lines, and highly functional space management. It was exactly the kind of modern aesthetic Yoongi was trying to push for his new luxury residential project in Hannam-dong.

"These are... yours?" Yoongi asked, his voice dropping lower, his eyes scanning a complex cross-section of a cantilevered roof.

"Every single line," Jimin said proudly, leaning forward, his eyes bright with genuine passion. "I believe architecture shouldn't just be a box people live in. It should be a living, breathing extension of the environment. If you hire me, I can optimize your Hannam-dong layout to increase usable space by fifteen percent without compromising the aesthetic."

Yoongi looked up from the portfolio, his sharp eyes locking onto Jimin’s face. He saw the fierce intelligence behind the sassy, beautiful exterior. As an alpha, he was drawn to competence, and Jimin was overflowing with it. But more than that, Yoongi felt a sudden, deep pull in his chest—a sudden urge to protect this brilliant omega, to keep him close.

"You're arrogant, Kim Jimin-ssi," Yoongi murmured, leaning back in his chair, a very faint, rare smile tugging at the corner of his lips.

"It’s not arrogance if I have the talent to back it up, Min-ssi," Jimin shot back, winking playfully.

Yoongi let out a low, gravelly laugh that made Jimin’s heart do a strange little flip. "The position pays standard corporate rates, but the hours are brutal. You’ll be working directly under me. I don't tolerate lateness, and I don't tolerate sloppy work."

Jimin stood up, extending his small hand across the desk, his smile bright and triumphant. "I don't do sloppy, boss. When do I start?"

Yoongi stood up as well, his large, pale hand engulfing Jimin’s small one. The moment their skin connected, a spark of pure electricity seemed to arc between them. Yoongi’s alpha scent flared instinctively, wrapping around Jimin like a warm blanket. Jimin’s breath hitched, his cheeks flushing pink as he felt the intense, hidden warmth behind Yoongi’s quiet demeanor.

"Tomorrow morning. Eight sharp," Yoongi said, his voice soft but heavy with an unspoken promise. "Don't be late, Jimin-ah."

Jimin pulled his hand back, his heart racing as he turned and walked out of the office. The moment the glass doors closed behind him, he let out a breathless gasp, a massive smile breaking across his face.

He had got the job. But as he walked toward the elevators, his hand still tingling from Yoongi’s touch, Jimin realized he might have just walked into a very beautiful, very dangerous trap of his own making.
