Episode 1

📑 Episode 1: The Predator’s Touch

The clock on the wall struck exactly 2:00 AM, its rhythmic ticking completely drowned out by the chaos raging outside. A violent midnight thunderstorm was tearing through the cold streets of Seoul, showing no mercy to the concrete jungle below. Thick, heavy sheets of freezing rain lashed mercilessly against the glass windows of the bedroom, sounding like hundreds of tiny stones trying to shatter their way inside. Every few seconds, sharp, blinding cracks of lightning ripped across the dark sky. With every flash, the pitch-black bedroom momentarily illuminated in a ghostly white glow, casting long, eerie, distorted shadows across the walls before plunging back into darkness.Ji-ah sat huddled tightly at her wooden study desk. Her shoulders were tense, and her eyes strained under the dim, flickering yellow glow of a small desk lamp. Her fingers trembled slightly as she desperately flipped through her medical college notes, the heavy textbook feeling like a ticking time bomb in her hands. Her final exams at Seoul National University were in less than two days, and the academic pressure was suffocating her. She rubbed her tired temples, praying for just a few more hours of peace to finish her revisions.Suddenly, without warning, the desk lamp flickered twice and died completely. The entire house plunged into a heavy, suffocating, pitch-black darkness. Ji-ah froze, her breath catching in her throat. The sudden silence inside the room made the thunder outside sound even louder. Heart hammering violently against her ribs, she groped around the dark desk until her fingers brushed against her phone. The screen flashed brilliantly as she woke it up, lighting up her pale face. But her breath hitched completely when she glanced at the top corner of the screen. The signal bars were entirely gone, replaced by three dreaded words: No Service.A cold sweat broke out across her forehead. She told herself it was just the storm, just a regular power outage in her quiet neighborhood. But deep down, an instinct older than time was screaming at her that something was horribly wrong. Then, a sudden, metallic crash echoed from the ground floor. It wasn't the sound of the wind. It was the distinct, violent sound of the heavy main security door of her house being forced open, its iron bolts snapping under immense physical pressure.Ji-ah’s blood turned to ice. She stood up so fast her chair screeched loudly against the floor.Thud. Thud. Thud. The sound of heavy, dripping leather combat boots began ascending the wooden stairs. The steps weren't rushed. They didn't belong to a panicked thief. They were slow, deliberate, heavy, and terrifyingly calm. Each step echoed through the empty house, moving with absolute certainty straight toward her bedroom on the second floor. Panic seized Ji-ah's chest, squeezing the air right out of her lungs. Realizing she had only seconds, she lunged toward her bedroom door, intending to lock it and barricade herself inside. But before her trembling fingers could even reach out to touch the brass handle, the door burst open with a violent, shattering crash that tore the iron hinges right out of the frame.Standing in the threshold, framed by a sudden flash of lightning behind him, was a tall, imposing silhouette. It was Lee Joon.He wore a long, black tailored wool trench coat that was heavily drenched from the rain, making him look even larger and more menacing in the dark. Wet strands of his jet-black hair clung messily to his sharp forehead, and water droplets rolled down his razor-sharp jawline. But it was his eyes that made Ji-ah stop breathing entirely. His piercing, obsidian eyes gleamed through the shadows with a cold, terrifying intensity. He looked like an apex predator that had spent months tracking its prey and had finally cornered it in a dead end."W-Who are you? How did you get in here?! Get out or I'll call the police!" Ji-ah gasped out, her voice shaking violently as she stumbled backward into the darkness of her room, her hands raised defensively.Joon didn't utter a single word. His silence was more terrifying than any threat he could have shouted. He stepped into the room with an aura of absolute, undisputed dominance. Without breaking eye contact with her for even a fraction of a second, he reached behind his back, grabbed the heavy broken door, and slammed it shut into the frame. Click. The sound of the lock sliding into place resonated through the silent room like a final death sentence.A wicked, breathtakingly dangerous smile slowly spread across his strikingly handsome face. He began to step closer, one slow, overpowering, dominating stride at a time. The puddles of water dripping from his coat soaked her bedroom carpet, marking his territory with every step. Terrified, Ji-ah kept retreating, her eyes wide as she tried to find an escape route. But there was none. Her heels hit the sharp edge of her wooden bed frame. Her balance gave
