Episode 5 – Arrival at the Farmhouse

Author's POV

A few weeks had passed.

Not enough to change everything.

Not enough to erase old habits.

But enough for certain memories to remain.

Enough for two people to remember each other whenever their paths happened to cross.

Adams Family Farmhouse

The afternoon sky stretched endlessly above the countryside, painted in shades of clear blue.

A gentle breeze swept across the open fields, carrying the scent of fresh grass and blooming flowers.

Standing proudly in the middle of the vast land was the Adams family farmhouse.

Large.

Peaceful.

Welcoming.

Unlike the elegance of the Adams mansion, this place carried a different kind of charm. It wasn't luxurious in a distant way—it was warm. The kind of home that invited laughter, long conversations, and countless family memories.

For the next few days, it would become even livelier.

Both families would be staying here together.

The Adams family.

And the Allen family.

Not as guests.

But as two families are preparing to become one.

Outside the Farmhouse

One after another, several cars pulled into the driveway.

The Allen family had arrived.

Car doors opened.

Suitcases were unloaded.

Within moments, cheerful greetings filled the peaceful afternoon.

June Adams was the first to walk forward.

A bright smile spread across her face as she opened her arms.

"My future son's mother-in-law!"

Lily Allen laughed before warmly embracing her.

"It's so good to see you again."

The hug barely ended before the questions began.

"How was the journey?"

"Did everyone eat properly?"

"Were the roads comfortable?"

Nearby, Liam Allen and Avik Adams greeted each other with a firm handshake.

The handshake quickly turned into a friendly hug.

"You've gotten younger."

Avik laughed.

"That's because your daughter is joining our family."

Liam chuckled.

"Or maybe because you're finally getting the daughter you never had."

The two men burst into laughter as they walked toward the house, already deep in conversation.

Around them, the younger generation exchanged greetings.

Nicole welcomed everyone with a warm smile.

Zake casually waved as always.

Aaron greeted the family with his relaxed, easygoing attitude.

Within minutes, the farmhouse was overflowing with voices, laughter, and familiar warmth.

It already felt like home.

Stella's POV

The moment I stepped inside, I couldn't stop smiling.

The farmhouse was beautiful.

Warm wooden floors.

Large windows letting sunlight pour inside.

Comfortable furniture.

And somewhere in the distance...

The delicious smell of fresh food.

It didn't feel like a vacation house.

It felt like the kind of place where families created memories together.

I happily greeted everyone I passed.

"Auntie! You look amazing!"

"Uncle, how have you been?"

"It's been forever since we last met!"

The house echoed with laughter.

Conversations overlapped.

Someone was already teasing someone else.

Everything felt wonderfully alive.

Then...

My eyes landed on someone standing quietly near the staircase.

Andrew Adams.

Of course.

Still as calm as ever.

For a brief moment, our eyes met.

Neither of us looked away immediately.

I smiled before walking over.

"Hi."

I greeted him first.

Because if I waited for Andrew Adams to start a conversation...

I'd probably grow old first.

He looked at me.

"Hello."

Short.

Simple.

Exactly what I expected.

I glanced around to make sure no one was listening before lowering my voice.

"How's your hand?"

For the first time, I noticed the slightest change in his expression.

It disappeared almost as quickly as it came.

"It's fine."

I let out a quiet sigh of relief.

"Good."

Because if he'd said anything else...

I was completely prepared to scold him all over again.

Before either of us could say another word, a familiar voice called across the room.

"Stella!"

I turned immediately.

"Coming!"

With one last smile, I hurried back toward my family, disappearing into the crowd as quickly as I'd arrived.

Andrew's POV

She remembered.

After all these weeks...

She still remembered to ask about my hand.

It was a small question.

A simple conversation.

Yet...

For some reason...

The thought returned to me later that evening.

Long after the farmhouse had grown quiet.
