EPISODE-04 HER TRANSMIGRATION

Crescencia stepped out of the bathroom while gently dabbing her damp hair with a towel. She glanced at the clock. It was already midnight, and the entire mansion had fallen silent.

She crossed the room, opened the balcony doors, and walked outside.

The cool night breeze brushed against her skin as she inhaled deeply, closing her eyes for a brief moment.

"Haaa..."

A faint smile curved her lips. Hugging herself against the chilly air, she looked up at the moonlit sky.

So, I was able to counter the hurdle they had put in place for me and my first sister-in-law.

The cool breeze continued to caress her body as she casually settled onto the large couch on the balcony. Resting her chin on her hand, she closed her eyes, allowing herself to sink into thought. Her mind drifted back two weeks before today—when everything had begun.

She remembered throwing the novel aside in frustration.

"Damn it!"

"Why do authors always write stories like this? Is it really that difficult to give the female lead a proper brain? She spent her entire life being manipulated by the people around her, yet she never questioned anything until she was betrayed and stabbed in the heart by the very man she loved."

"The heroine had ruined every relationship she had because of him."

"She had isolated herself from the people who genuinely cared for her—her friends, her family, and everyone who loved her. Yet she continued chasing after a man who never deserved even a fraction of her devotion."

Emmeline Westcliff clenched her fists.

"God damn it!"

She let out a long, exasperated sigh.

"I just don't get it."

" Why?"

" Why does she keep forgiving him? He cheated on her, framed her, manipulated her, and repeatedly took advantage of her kindness. Yet all she ever did was cry and forgive him."

Emmeline lay on her bed, staring blankly at the ceiling.

The heroine had walked toward her own destruction one step at a time. She pushed away those who tried to protect her while blindly trusting the very people who wanted to ruin her. Even her loyal friends paid the price for standing by her.

She had placed her faith in a man she had known for only a short time, believing every sweet word that left his mouth. Meanwhile, she turned her back on to the family who had sacrificed everything for her.

"So why does she deserve a second chance?" Emmeline muttered bitterly.

"She ignored every warning. She believed lies over the people who truly loved her. Even in her final moments, all she could think about was regretting that she hadn't trusted him enough."

She scoffed.

"If he hadn't stabbed her himself, would she have continued making excuses for him?"

A tear slipped down her cheek.

She laughed at herself.

"No... if I were in her place, I would've killed him, dragged his entire family down with him, and then lived my own life."

She shook her head.

"Pathetic."

"Extremely pathetic."

Another quiet laugh escaped her lips before she drifted into a deep sleep.

----

Emmeline walked toward the mirror. She stared at her reflection in stunned silence.

"This face..."

Her fingertips gently brushed against her cheek.

"Crescencia Aldridge..."

The first pawn to be sacrificed in her sister's pursuit of love.

Crescencia had been born weak due to a childhood illness. She had also been a premature baby, forcing her parents to send her to her grandparents to the United States for years of treatment. After finally recovering, she returned home, only for tragedy to welcome her.

The first event she attended as the fifth Miss Aldridge was her friend Clara's birthday party.

That day marked the beginning of her nightmare.

Her elder sister, blinded by foolish love, used her as nothing more than a stepping stone.

Crescencia's chest tightened.

She recalled every detail.

Her sister had willingly agreed to let Nayella drug her before sending her to Jordan Perkins' bed—the elder brother of Geoffrey Perkins' childhood friend, Nayella Perkins.

The Aldridge and Perkins families had intended to strengthen their business partnership through marriage, but Mr. Aldridge refused to sacrifice any of his daughters for profit. Edward Aldridge was never a fan of Jordan Perkins' life style and would never let him be with any of his two daughters.

So they, Geoffrey, Nayella and Charlotte devised another plan.

They would destroy Crescencia's reputation first, leaving marriage as her only option.

After everything happened that night where Crescencia faced a long painful night and humiliation while staying in the dark, bring used as a pawn by her elder sister, Charlotte even came up to her to lecture her on her actions because at that time it was set up as Crescencia went to find Jordan who was resting.

Charlotte blamed her for not controlling herself and praising Jordan as a wonderful man she should feel fortunate to marry.

Crescencia laughed with deep mockery in her gaze as she gazed at her reflection.

How laughable.

The woman celebrated as the female lead had been granted a second chance to fix her mistakes.

Instead, she destroyed her own sister's innocence, ruined her life, became the target of ridicule, endured years of suffering, and ultimately drove her to her death.

Crescencia slowly wiped away the tears gathering at the corners of her eyes.

She was laughing.

"Very well..."

A cold smile spread across her lips.

"Then let me show you how this game is truly played."

---

The following morning, Crescencia slowly opened her eyes and let out a soft yawn.

Golden rays of sunlight streamed through the curtains.

"I dreamed about the time I came here."

There were no extra fluctuation of emotions in her voice.
