📖 Episode 2: The Heartbeat in

the LensEver since that rainy night under the black umbrella, Min-jun hadn't been able to sleep properly. Every time he closed his eyes, the cinematic loop of Tae-hyun’s low chuckle, the sharp scent of cool mint, and the heavy rain drumming against the canvas played continuously in his mind. The next morning, the university campus was incredibly breezy. A sudden gust of wind sent flurries of pink cherry blossom petals swirling through the golden morning air. Min-jun arrived nearly forty minutes early to clear his racing head. He set himself up in a quiet, highly aesthetic cafe tucked away near the stone-walled borders of Bukchon Hanok Village—a peaceful spot he frequented whenever he needed to edit his work in solitude. He flipped open his laptop, took a slow sip of his warm tea, and pulled up the raw file from the night before. He began softly adjusting the contrast, bringing out the sharp lines of Tae-hyun's jawline against the blurred neon background."Wow... do I really look that good through your lens?"A sudden, deep voice directly behind his right ear startled Min-jun. He whirled around so fast his glasses nearly slid off his nose.Tae-hyun was standing right there, holding two large cups of iced Americano. Today, he was dressed in an oversized, incredibly cozy white knit sweater instead of his usual athletic gear. The soft fabric made him look breathtakingly attractive and disarmingly gentle."T-Tae-hyun? How did you even find me here?" Min-jun stammered, frantically tilting his laptop screen downward to hide his work. His cheeks instantly flushed a delicate, noticeable pink.Tae-hyun smiled warmly, his left-side dimple appearing as he slid into the wooden chair directly across from Min-jun. He pushed one of the condensation-covered coffee cups across the table. "I told you yesterday, didn't I? I wanted to see the photo. And you were the one who mentioned last night that you always come to this specific Bukchon cafe before morning lectures.""I did?" Min-jun blinked in sheer confusion, trying to recall the blurry details of their rainy walk."Last night, while we were sharing the umbrella," Tae-hyun said. He leaned his forearms on the table, his dark eyes locking onto Min-jun’s with an intense, quiet sincerity. "You were probably too nervous to remember what you were saying, but I was paying close attention to every single word."Min-jun’s heart thudded violently against his ribs. The directness of Tae-hyun's gaze was entirely too much to handle so early in the morning. He took a hasty, panicked sip of the iced coffee just to avoid looking up."Come on, show me," Tae-hyun coaxed softly, leaning forward with an eager, boyish tilt of his head. "Don't hide it."With a racing pulse and trembling fingers, Min-jun slowly angled the laptop screen back up and turned it toward his partner. On the screen was the freshly edited photo—Tae-hyun standing in the center of the chaotic Hongdae intersection, looking raw, lonely, and absolutely captivating.Tae-hyun stared at the digital image for a long time, his eyes barely blinking. The playful smile slowly faded from his face, replaced by a quiet, contemplative expression."Min-jun..." Tae-hyun spoke softly, his voice dropping to a serious, gravelly undertone. "In this photo... I don't look lonely anymore. It looks like... like someone in the middle of a massive, uncaring crowd was searching specifically for me. Like you found me."Min-jun looked up from his coffee, caught off guard. For a fleeting second, that profound, heavy isolation he had captured the night before flickered deep in Tae-hyun's eyes, but it was quickly overtaken by a tender, searching warmth."Photography isn't just about capturing a pretty face," Min-jun replied, his voice barely above a whisper, filled with an innate gentleness he didn't know he possessed. "It's about capturing what that person is burying inside. When I saw you standing there... I just felt like my world needed to stop."A heavy, profound silence settled over their small wooden table. In the background of the quiet cafe, a soft, melancholy piano melody began to play, and a few stray cherry blossom petals drifted through the open window, landing softly on the floor. Tae-hyun rested his large hand flat on the table, his long fingers lingering just an inch away from Min-jun’s hand."Then..." Tae-hyun asked, his voice dropping an octave as his gaze drifted briefly to Min-jun's lips before locking back onto his eyes. "Will you keep stopping for me in the future?"Min-jun felt his breath hitch completely. The atmosphere was so charged with unspoken tension that he could barely manage a slow, breathless nod.Later that evening, the two found themselves inside the university's private photography studio for their first official project shoot. The main overhead fluorescent lights were switched off, leaving the room dimmed. Min-jun had meticulously adjusted the background studio lights to cast a soft, warm yellow glow on one
