The day of the global launch presentation had finally arrived. The grand auditorium at Visionary Corp was packed with investors, board members, and rival executives. Behind the scenes, the atmosphere was a mix of intense adrenaline and nervous energy.
Su-ho stood backstage, frantically checking his tablet to ensure the digital design slides were perfectly synced. His hands were shaking so much he nearly dropped the device twice.
"Take a deep breath," a calm, grounding voice said from behind him.
Su-ho turned to see Ji-woon walking toward him. The Chief looked immaculate in a sharp dark navy suit, completely unfazed by the high-stakes environment. He stopped right in front of Su-ho, stepped into his space, and gently took the tablet from his trembling hands, setting it down on a nearby tech table.
"Everyone out there is waiting to see the future of this company," Ji-woon said, his voice a steady, reassuring anchor. "And I know they’re going to love it, because you created it."
"What if the projector glitches? What if I trip on the stage stairs?" Su-ho asked, his voice a panicked whisper. "Ji-woon, there are literally hundreds of people out there."
Ji-woon smiled softly, a rare expression he reserved only for Su-ho. He reached out, carefully straightening the collar of Su-ho's jacket, his fingers lingering for a reassuring second. "If the projector glitches, we'll improvise. If you trip, I'll catch you. Just like I always do."
The sheer confidence in Ji-woon's eyes instantly settled the butterflies in Su-ho's stomach. The heavy weight of the thriller-like corporate chase from the past few weeks felt completely worth it just to have this unwavering support.
"Five minutes to showtime, Chief, Mr. Lee!" a stage manager called out, breaking the quiet bubble around them.
Su-ho nodded, picking up his tablet with a newfound spark of confidence. He looked up at Ji-woon, a bright, mischievous grin returning to his face. "You better be front and center, Chief. I perform best when my biggest fan is watching."
"I wouldn't miss it for the world," Ji-woon replied, giving Su-ho a supportive nod as they prepared to step out into the bright lights together...
The presentation was an absolute triumph. The crowd erupted into applause the moment the final design slide faded from the screen, securing Visionary Corp's biggest contract of the year.
By 8:00 PM, the grand auditorium had cleared out, leaving only the quiet hum of the building's air conditioning. Su-ho sat on the edge of the empty stage, his legs dangling over the side, completely exhausted but wearing a massive, victorious grin.
"I didn't trip," Su-ho announced proudly to the empty room as he heard footsteps approaching.
Ji-woon walked down the center aisle, having finally shed his formal suit jacket. His tie was loosened, and he carried two takeout cups from the café downstairs. He stepped up onto the stage platform and sat down right next to Su-ho, handing him one of the cups.
"You were flawless," Ji-woon said, his voice filled with genuine pride. "Though I did notice you almost lost your balance during the Q&A session."
"That was a stylistic choice to keep the investors engaged," Su-ho joked, taking a sip. He gasped in surprise. "Wait... is this an iced vanilla latte? From the strict, zero-sugar Chief Marketing Officer?"
"Consider it a truce," Ji-woon smiled, clinking his own black coffee cup against Su-ho’s. "The project is officially a success. The corporate spy is handled, the board is ecstatic, and my marketing strategy actually managed to keep up with your brilliant designs."
Su-ho set his cup down on the stage floor, his playful expression softening into something much more sincere. He looked over at Ji-woon, the bright city lights shining through the high auditorium windows behind them. "We make a pretty great team, don't we?"
"The best," Ji-woon agreed. He reached over, wrapping his arm around Su-ho's shoulders and pulling him in close.
Su-ho leaned his head back against Ji-woon’s shoulder, sighing happily. The chaotic journey of spilled coffee, server room stakeouts, and corporate deadlines had brought them exactly where they belonged.
"So," Su-ho murmured, looking up with a mischievous spark in his eyes. "What's our next project, Chief?"
Ji-woon looked down at him, his expression incredibly warm as he squeezed Su-ho's shoulder. "Whatever it is, we're handling it together."..
