Chapter - 5 From stinky Rat to Mr. Rat

The little boy looked at his mother's angry face and became frightened.

His mother had always spoiled him and loved him dearly. She had never hated him or even raised her voice at him.

Yet today, she had scolded him because of a tiny mouse.

At first, Aaron felt upset.

Why was Mom angry over a rat?

Then he remembered the pain he had felt when she gently squeezed his wrist.

It had hurt.

He looked at the little mouse wrapped in the towel.

The poor creature was still trembling and letting out tiny squeaks.

If my wrist hurt that much...

Doesn't the little mouse feel pain too?

It must be hurting even more than I was.

A wave of guilt washed over him.

Maybe...

Maybe what he had done was wrong.

He shouldn't have hit the mouse so hard.

He should have simply chased it outside instead of trying to kill it.

His little face fell.

Lowering his head, he stared at the floor and whispered,

"Mom..."

"I want to help."

"What can I do for Mr. Little Rat?"

"He's hurting because of me."

Veronica froze.

She stared at her son in surprise.

He was only three and a half years old.

Yet he had already begun to understand another living creature's pain.

A warm smile slowly spread across her face.

Maybe...

Just maybe...

Changing her son's future wouldn't be as impossible as she had feared.

Suddenly, Veronica had an idea. Although her son was still very young, he was beginning to understand responsibility.

Since the mouse had been hurt because of him, perhaps he should help care for it.

She crossed her arms and said in a firm voice, “All right, Aaron. You’ve learned an important lesson today. Now you must help make things right.”

Aaron looked up at her.

“You’ll help me take care of Mr. Red,” she continued. “We’ll give him his medicine on time, make sure he has water, keep his little space clean, and feed him properly until he recovers.”

Aaron nodded seriously.

“I’ll help him get strong again, Mom,” he said. “I want his leg to heal.”

Veronica smiled at her son.

Maybe it wasn’t a huge step.

Maybe it was only a baby step.

But it was a beginning, and for the first time in a long while, hope warmed her heart.

Its elegant body gleamed like polished ivory despite the rain. The long, graceful silhouette, gleaming chrome grille, and shining three-pointed star on the hood gave it an air of unmatched luxury and authority. Every smooth curve spoke of wealth, power, and prestige.

Even standing still, it looked more like a work of art than a mere car.

Yet today, its engine was silent, its headlights dim, and the magnificent vehicle seemed strangely lonely, as if it were mourning the fate of its owner.

Several bodyguards surrounded the pearl-white Maybach, standing alert as they scanned the area.

A well-dressed assistant stepped forward and respectfully opened the rear door. He looked calm and professional, with neatly styled black hair and sharp, refined features that gave him an elegant, almost aristocratic appearance.

Leaning down slightly, he spoke politely.

"Sir, the meeting is ready. Everything has been prepared. All you need to do is head to the eighteenth floor."

"Very well."

A deep, slightly hoarse voice answered from inside the Maybach.

It was low and calm, yet unmistakably masculine.

The owner hadn't even stepped out of the car, but the mere sound of his voice carried an overwhelming sense of authority.

Whoever he was...

He was clearly a man with an extraordinary presence.
